The CVS Pharmacy on Howard Street in Kalamazoo has been pretty great each time I've gone there. The staff is usually fast and friendly, and I rarely have any issues. One of the better pharmacies in town.

They didn't accept my insurance so I'll not be getting my scrips here. I participate in Michigan's Healthy Families Medicaid expansion program. Other chain pharmacies in the area do, so it surprised me that CVS -- a national chain -- doesn't.

The prices here are absolutely obscene for a chain pharmacy. No one is paying 9 dollars for regular Secret deodorant or generic neosporin. I bought nothing and went to Walgreens.

Stay away - no stock, rude employees and they want you to leave your " large purses snd backpacks behind the register" while you shop. Are they kidding? Maybe my big pocketbook has lots of money to spend in it? Not worth it, I'll go elsewhere where my business along with my very big pocketbook are welcome.

This pharmacy is the biggest joke i've ever seen . i drop my scripts off and they tell me 25-30 minutes at 2:20pm til they're ready to be picked up so i go home. i go back at 3:50pm the same day and they tell me they STILL need 15 minutes. it's laughable how bad this pharmacy is. the only reason i still go to cvs is bc my mom works for the company. either get your stuff together or close because this ridiculous.

This CVS is just the worst. Will, the pharmacist doesn't know what he's doing. I was told my insurance didn't cover the prescription, my doctor wrote for the brand name and he tried filling the generic. I told him the generic isn't covered and he has to fill it has written. He told me he couldn't do that. Then I asked him if a particular prescription was called in and he said it wasn't at that CVS or any other CVS. He told me I could pay cash for the prescription tonight (inhalers for me and my daughter) and he would call the doctor in the morning and get the "DAW" code on the prescription. When I told him we didn't need that before and that it was filled a month ago, no problem, he said "you just want me to do it, not going to happen" So...I called the CVS pharmacy in Target. They are amazing. She said what the other pharmacist told me didn't make sense and that she could fill them no problem AND the prescription that I KNEW had been called in had. The other pharmacist lied to me. Do NOT go to that pharmacist, especially if you have to deal with Will. WORST customer service EVER.

I'm from New York, so I'm a huge CVS customer. So I made my way up to this CVS by the college and had a really weird experience. I needed to return a few things and buy one thing. This CVS only has one cashier present ALL THE TIME so there always like 2-3 people in line. So, I got into the line and walked up the cashier (girl, white, college student age) and I told her I need to return these items and purchase this item (all of which I had in my hand). She said ok sure, she did my return which took like 2-3 minutes. I signed the return receipt and then she says to me "can you take your item that you need to purchase and get back into the line". I was like... what? and she repeated herself saying "I need to keep the line moving". I was like "but I'm already here...why would I get back in line?" and again she's like "because I need to keep the line moving". I was like "I'm not getting into line and waiting again, that makes no sense, I'm already here". She annoyingly agreed and my transaction literally took a minute. I mean, how does that make sense lol, it took her more time to tell me to get back in the line than to just do my transaction! Ridiculous. I'm not sure if she was being racist, because I was wearing a headscarf (I'm muslim), but regardless it was just d****

As I slowly pulled up to the well lit, welcoming store, I thought about my past experiences at convenience stores. The hassle of walking inside, grabbing what you want and then checking out did not sound like something I wanted to do. As soon as I entered through the opaque sliding glass doors I knew this experience was going to be different. I quickly marched knee to chest, directly to aisle 3, the candy isle. I scrolled though the millions of trillions of candy options that they had and alas, grasped towards my favorite candy, the Hershey's Milk Chocolate bar. I especially liked that this option had exactly 130 calories, conveniently displayed on the packaging (Nice touch CVS!). I continued to stroll to the front counter where I laid eyes on the most welcoming and sincere worker I have ever seen, Renee. When I got to the counter Renee greeted me and asked me if I had a CVS card, it felt as if she was inviting me to one of the most exclusive clubs in all of Kalamazoo, unfortunately I didn't have a card. As I left the store I felt great knowing that I had made a difference in the world.

I do not usually leave reviews for pharmacies, however my experiences at this CVS Pharmacy are beyond belief. Who knew how much workers could impact your day. There have been numerous times I have been a in a poor mood because of work, family, etc. But, each time I walk in here, I am greeted by someone with a smile. This is not an ordinary smile. I can easily tell if a smile is fake or not. Believe me, this smile is not fake. I majored in psychology and human relations at Davenport University, so I know much about facial expressions/features. Psychologists, like myself, have found that a particular set of facial actions give away true smiles. These "genuine" smiles are called Duchenne smiles. These are smiles that engage the muscle around your eyes. Below, I have a photo of different type of smiles that workers show. I have been to numerous stores where I have received a smile such as (Row 1, Column 5). I can tell immediately that they actually do not care about my happiness. However, the smiles at this CVS on W. Michigan is truly remarkable. Attached are articles that explain more in depth about smiles (if you would like)

The best pharmacy we've used in the past 17 years. Friendly and efficient and they go above and beyond to take care of their customers.
