“We've worked with Consumers twice (once on a refinance with Mauri Story, and just recently again for a personal loan) and have been beyond impressed with the customer service both times. Most recently, I worked with Tamera Hall on a boat loan -- she went ABOVE and BEYOND to get our loan processed quickly so that we wouldn't lose an amazing deal on a boat. Additionally, she caught an issue with the title (that we missed) and worked into the evening hours to get it situated for us so that it wouldn't be an hassle for us later at the Secretary of State. This was not at all her responsibility -- she was just being helpful and thoughtful! We had to go back-and-forth with the seller several times, and she helped us through the entire ordeal. She genuinely "had our back" in the transaction. Thank you so much, Tamera! This recent experience (as well as the customer service provided by Mauri Story a couple of years ago - thank you, Mauri!!) was outstanding. We're planning to switch credit unions (from Advia to Consumers) because of the positive experiences we've had with Consumers. They make banking easy!”
“This summer I put all my savings in Consumers 5.4% CD. That was a great deal, but what really impressed me was their customer service. I met everyone from the Regional manager Josh on down. Very friendly, down to earth people. (Kelsey or Roy greet me every time I walk in). When I heard their personal and business accounts give 4% interest I was sold. I went through the task of completely switching all my accounts over from MSUFCU where I’ve banked for 35 years.Usually an arduous undertaking, the bank manager Brandy and regional manager Josh scheduled a conference room and spent two hours switching everything over with me in one go. I have never had this kind of attentive service at a bank. Turns out their online banking is superior to MSU, too. I can see ALL my accounts in one place, vs different logins for my personal and business accounts. And they send helpful and informative emails vs constant announcements about the newest branch opening (looking at you, MSU).Months later, we unexpectedly bought a house and we used Consumers for our mortgage. Their mortgage officer Ben Belloli was BEYOND responsive and efficient and gave us the best terms, too.In this age of automation and anxiety, this kind of personal, warm and effective service is balm to my soul. For my personal account and as a business owner, I cannot recommend Consumers more highly.”

“Earlier this year, I had a circumstance that let me to believe one of my accounts may have been compromised. As it turned out, that did not occur but I do want to recognize three Honor employees who made a difficult and frustrating situation tolerable. Kimberly Nower, Jenny Ritsema and Dan Carpenter. I worked first with Kimberly to whom I reported the potential issue(s). She did everything she could - she provided great customer service and was someone I knew personally. She also referred me to Jenny Ritsema because Kimberly felt that Jenny would be able to provide great security support and she did. Jenny did an amazing job and was wonderfully responsive. Ultimately, to resolve all the items left on the check list, I was introduced to Dan Carpenter who, to this day, still provides assistance when needed on any topic or banking question I have. Dan did a wonderful job above and beyond what one could normally expect even in a potential account security situation. He provided great customer service. Thankfully, the good news is that there were ultimately no security issues and I am confident that the primary reason is due to the quick and thorough efforts of all three Honor employees I had the pleasure of working with and the security precautions they put in place.”

“Everyone is very helpful, even though I'm only going in for my shared banking needs. Since my credit union is hours away, it's very convenient to use this branch while in town. Also, they are a GREAT option for 1st time auto financing. They were the only one that gave my daughter (at 18 now 21) a loan for a vehicle and the interest and down payment required were as competitive as it would have been for someone with a credit score HIGH 600's. I highly recommend this credit union for young adults looking for financing for a reliable vehicle to get back and forth for work. After about 6 months of payments, my daughter was even invited and approved for a credit card with a 2K limit. They have really helped my daughter get a great start on her financial future.”

“Have always enjoyed doing business with Kalsee for the last 40 years, but just like my regular bank 5/3 and Advia CU when it came time to purchase a new car they wouldn't finance without a co signer. Really? My history backed by my credit score and the fact I could have paid cash, by touching my investments, didn't mean a thing. The car is paid off and it's been 3 years but I'm still bitter. Could have easily have been 5 stars. A bank I'd never heard of and who had never heard of me took my business making me rethink my loyalty.”

I’ve used other banks for business or having property out of state but I’ve held on to this bank and used it as my main account this whole time. Other banks can’t hold a candle to Consumer’s. Personable, professional, and very trustworthy…you can count on them.”
