Good hotel, it's clean and still feels new. The room was smaller than other IHG hotels, but still big enough to be comfortable. I would hear random bangs and noises day and night in the area above my room (I was on the top floor) so probably utilities doing what they do.The grab and go type breakfast was a good idea I thought. It has almost as much as a regular IHG hotel does, but is setup like hot food in a convenience store. The only negative I found was that it didn't seem like the staff kept an eye on it as much as they should have as some items ran out and some of the juice were out for two days.Despite the breakfast issue, I would very much recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay on the East side of Kalamazoo. I hope it stays clean and well-kept and doesn't become too dumpy like some of the other hotels nearby.

Stayed here last month for a work trip. I do not believe I checked into a clean room. I was looking for a blow dryer and I could not find one. While looking for that I noticed my kleenex box was empty, and there was food in the fridge from previous guest, lots of things missed if the room was cleaned. .I went to the desk and he needed up bringing me all the items but while I was waiting I looked around the room more and it just didnt appear to be clean overall. When he brought the missing items to my door he ensured me the room was cleaned...Maybe I should have pushed harder for a new room but I was tired from traveling. Now looking at more reviews this seems to be a common theme and I dont think I will be booking here again. Also, when I went to ask the front desk for a receipt at checkout and told her my room number she looked shocked like they never rent that room out or something. It was a little weird considering I was already thinking the room was dirty. Guy offered extra rewards points which I dont see on my account, but that wasnt really of concern. I was more concerned that I was not in a clean room.

Staff is amazing. Lobby is amazing. Rooms not so much. Need a good cleaning, paint, and maintenance.

Thank you! Our stay at the avid IHG hotel in Kalamazoo was great, so I just want to say “thank you”. From check-in to check-out our stay was easy and comfortable. The rooms were very clean and beds were soft. Even the shower was nice. All the amenities downstairs in the lobby were very good and the coffee with breakfast was top notch, and the breakfast had lots of choices. It was quick and easy. Your hotel was even very quiet though it was booked solid. Thank you for a great stay. We will book other avid IHG hotels on future trips. I highly recommend this hotel.Rooms: The rooms were clean and the beds were soft and comfortable. The thermostat on the wall was a great plus!Safety: I had no safety concerns at this hotel and it was easy to find.Food & drinks: The coffee at breakfast was very good and the extra amentities available in the lobby were a delightful surprise.

I was very disappointed with the condition of our room; very obviously not cleaned! There was cat hair EVERYWHERE, on the floor, on the chair, on the bed, and even on the sheets and pillowcases!! I told the guy at the front desk about it and was told several hours later that it had been cleaned again for us. Upon getting back to our room we discovered it hadn’t been touched whatsoever!! So back to the front desk again, and this time he admitted that he just told the housekeeper to check it out. They didn’t have another room available to move us to so he just gave us other sheets. Definitely will not stay there again. Spend $180 to sleep in a filthy room? I don’t think so!!!!

Gross. This was a dirty hotel. Lobby had a security bar next to the sliding door entrance that could be stored elsewhere. The sheets were dirty and hair all over the bathroom. The management needs to train all of their staff. Customers don’t feel safe when there is a home made security bar in the lobby by the door and housekeeping needs to think about what they are doing. The gentleman at the desk moved us to two new rooms and they were dirtier than the first rooms. So there are four rooms that should not pass inspection. The sausage and egg English muffin was so old and had been sitting in the heated case for so long that the bottom of the English muffin was “toasted”. It was inedible.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The lobby is clean & inviting. Check in was a breeze.The room was very neat, tidy, & presentable. Lots of towels, tissue, and toilet paper.The bed was very comfortable.Breakfast is great. Freshly ground coffee in the lobby is amazing. Highly recommend.Rooms: Rooms are very spacious. Lots of outlets and charger ports.Food & drinks: Grab n go breakfast available. Freshly grounded coffee in the lobby.

People make the difference. Richard was super helpful with getting my wife and I and our 5 kids settled into rooms that worked for all of us. Ever since then I stay here every time I'm back here for work.Rooms: The rooms are basic, but functional and not crowded. Super clean.

Booked through a third party site. Incompetent staff could not find our reservation and simply double charged us for our room — making it seem like *we* made a mistake. Both accusatory and insulting.We worked through the third party site who were very accommodating but more than two weeks later, the hotel manager has yet to process a refund. The “manager” is never around.Don’t stay here. Maybe avoid IHG properties altogether — they’re all a little awful in their own way.

(1) When I originally made the reservation I asked for a room on the 1st floor because we have a young child but they put us on the 5th. (2) The second day we were here the refrigerator in our room stopped working and we lost food. There was no compensation or apology, only moving us to a different room on the 4th floor. (3) The 2nd week we were here we received a noise complaint at 3pm in the afternoon from a guest below us due to our child. The guest contacted me directly and the front desk did nothing about it. Once again, we were the ones that had to move to a different room this time on the 1st floor. (4) The room they gave us on the 1st floor is right by an outside door. We have experienced nothing but loud noises, door slamming and constant in/out all hours of the night. The front desk ignored our complaints and did nothing about it even though my child got a complaint at 3 in the afternoon. (5) Just yesterday, I called the front desk to ask to speak to the General Manager. The employee that answered was very rude and would not let me speak to her. Also, for no reason, had to remind me of our check out a few days later (like hinting at they want us to leave. (6) I contacted IHG corporate/diamond guest relations on Wednesday, May 24 to ask if they would do anything to compensate me for all my concerns and issues that we experienced. The representative didn't really acknowledge my concerns and just transferred me to corporate guest relations. The corporate representative only offered me 20,000 reward points in compensation even though I spent over 200,000 reward points for this stay. I was also told that it would take 7-10 days to receive the 20,000 points which I don't consider much of a compensation/refund.THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT A DIAMOND ELITE MEMBER!!!!

Booked this hotel for a very busy weekend with our school wrestling team. Arrived at around 7pm and was told my room was not ready. About an hour later, we were told the room was ready and keys were issued. When we got to our room, the room had not been cleaned. We ended up helping the overwhelmed housekeeper clean our room, down to the personal clothing items left on the floor and stripping the beds. My husband mopped the floor, but was disgusted by the chocolate milk colored mop water used to clean all the rooms. He asked for fresh mop water, but did not receive the new water. The housekeeper was surprised I stripped the comforters from the beds, stating those do not get changed between customers. Instead of hanging out with the team, I spent the rest of the evening cleaning our room with the clorox wipes I had in the car. We did receive 50% back; however, we were not the only family met with these conditions. Absolutely unacceptable.
