This is a story of an honest, loyal, hard-working family. Both parents have owned small businesses of their own for 19+ years. They would literally do anything they possibly could to help someone in need. Absolutely never, in a million years, would they think about being fraudulent in any manner. In August of 2019 they purchased a beautiful ranch style home on 50 acres in Marcellus, MI. To keep things simple and go with the flow they continued with all the same services that the previous homeowners used. One of these services was Franger Gas out of Jones, MI. At the time, changing gas companies wasn’t on their mind. Getting settled in the new house and making it their forever home was. They were told at the purchasing of the home the propane tank was privately owned by them now. Previous owners just didn’t have any proof of the purchase of the tank. A verbal acknowledgement was made at that time.Fast forward to December 13, 2023. Franger auto fills the tank like they have done so for 4 years for a total of $826.62 worth of propane. No biggie, right? On December 14, they call the homeowners to get an updated card on file for payment. At that moment they don’t have their card on them and state they will call back later with it. The next day Franger calls again. The homeowner is not by his wallet, he’s busy working and states he will call back with it. By December 16, only 3 days after being filled, Franger calls once more for an updated credit card. Mind you, this is not even past due, nor past the timeframe of December 18 where the price is cheaper if paid early. No brainer right! You must pay before December 18 to get the propane for $791.66. However, at this moment in time Franger is harassing the couple. Demanding payment right now or they will drain the tank. In a state of frustration and tired of being vexed he tells them to come pick up their propane. They will go elsewhere. Around December 26, Franger picks up propane. Merry Christmas. Hope your pipes don’t freeze. Now we enter the timeframe of working with MEC, Midwest Energy and Communications. Again, this company was chosen because the homeowners have a history of dealing with them for electricity and fiber internet. During the setup process of getting propane, a form is signed stating that they own their own tank. It is filled out truthfully by the homeowners with all the information given, including serial numbers of 267016. A leak test and fill date are set for January 18, 2024. That’s great! MEC shows up on January 18 and puts 417.70 gallons in the tank worth $933.55. Everyone is happy and living their best life. Hard-working couples are running their individual small businesses and raising their 3 children now without thinking about propane issues. Friday, January 26, while the couple are on a trip to Tennessee, they receive a phone call from MEC stating that the tank is going to be picked up by Franger. Propane and all. How is this so? The tank is owned by them with MEC propane in it. As MEC explains it, the propane tank is owned by Franger and now the propane is too since it is in the tank. At this point the homeowners are flabbergasted. Why didn’t the serial number get checked by MEC to confirm the tank was indeed owned by them and why is Franger not only stealing their propane but also their tank? Franger never once showed proof that they themselves owned it.Wednesday, January 31, 2024, is your typical cloudy, chilly winter day. Franger and MEC both show up to the beautiful ranch style home on 50 acres in Marcellus, MI. One company to give you a tank and more propane that needs to get paid for. One company to steal your propane of 370 gallons worth $795.13 and now possibly owned tank worth $3000 brand new. Now who is the bad guy here? Franger is just being rude and spiteful at this moment. Why didn’t they pick up the tank and propane at the same time on December 26 when they drained the tank?Evidence of owned tank needs to be established by Franger and reimbursement of propane stolen paid back to the couple!Sincerely,Very Disgruntled Couple

My personal opinion is to use any other company other than this establishment.Franger Gas Co in Jones, MI has been asked to move a person's propane tank and they have NOT followed through on the request to move the tank from the neighbor's property line. The initial request was made to Franger in September 2021 and we are in February 2022 and the tank still hasn't been moved. Very poor service and follow through. The location manager in Jones, MI promised us in January 2022 that the tank would be moved....... The promise was to move the tank in a week. The story that I was told about them coming out to move the tank kept changing.....first it was to let the propane level go down, next the reason was because of needing to get a tank cleaned up and it was too cold to get a tank prepped to take out to the neighbors to replace their existing tank and move it from the property line.On February 14, 2022, Franger wanted us to sign a very vague document that gives them the right to drive anywhere on our farm property and possibly be responsible for building a road for the neighbor. On February 15, 2022, I asked Franger to make a few changes so we could sign the letter and they said they would not change the letter. On top of that, because we will not sign their vague letter they are pulling our two propane tanks from our property in thirty days. It's ok, we are changing to S & F Propane and S & F's tank rental and propane cost is less expensive.

Most amazingly responsive company we have ever dealt with. Literally moved trees and power lines after a recent storm to get to our home when our propane tank was compromised and leaking due to a tree falling on it. The Jones office provided more than just outstanding service, they were kind, provided helpful guidance and worked late into the night to ensure our family and neighbors were safe. It is good to know there are still businesses out there that truly care. Franger Gas and the folks in the Jones office have earned a customer for life because we know they will have our back in the most trying of times.

Have had no issues and have been fast when needed my tank filled. People need to remember they're humans and it's busy season to make sure everyone gets their gas and checking on tanks.

We are Franger customers and generally get an automatic refill for $400 we pay that week and get a discounted rate. Not so this time, December 20th they filled our tank, billed us $715 and drained the money out of our account on the 21st even though it wasn't due until the 25th! We are working people who get paid on Fridays! This bankrupted our planned vacation. We will be looking for new service providers.

We have been customers for many years paying in advance and therefore depending on the automatic refill Ferrelloffers. Yesterday at 6:00pm (after business hours, of course) we discovered that the reason we were cold was that we had no propane and therefore no heat, cooking, or hot water. The lady we talked with was very apologetic and assured us we would have a fill tomorrow, (today). We called this morning and they again said they would get someone here ASAP. It's after 1:00. No call, no sign of them. We called and asked when we were scheduled; no return call. Of course we can only talk to a machine, so we have no idea what to expect. I don't know what is most troubling, the insensitivity to our pleas or the lack of communication, both between the company and ourselves and the company systems. Either way we lose.

Reposed my tank over $114.00 which still had 50% propane still in it and refused future service leaving me with no heat in winter. Which then they had to reimburse me $173.00 for the 50% propane in tank when they came to take it and that was even after taking the $114..00 off the top of remaining gas in tank. REALLY!!! WTH! WHAT A JOKE OF A GAS COMPANY.

Train the women in the office to fill. It takes 3 minutes to do a 20lb tank. A child could do it. How do you offer refills yet not have anyone to do the work? I end up waiting for a truck driver to do the work. Rather than fill my tank the guy is sitting in his truck on his damn cell phone for 20 mins. ON HIS CELL PHONE LOOKING DIRECTLY AT ME. I will not come back here.

Quick grill tanks filled with great service near my home with 'buy six, get seventh free ' card savings. Cheaper than switching tanks at a convenience store, but I did find much more competitive pricing near Colon, MI.

Been my gas service for 20 years. Never had a problem. Tanks filled for cheap and they have a rewards card that'll get get a free 20lb fill-up. Only thing is you may have to leave your tank and come back shortly. They distribute allot and sometimes the fill-up may not happen til someone gets back from delivery.
