I haven't join yet because I travel a lot. The receptionist is very friendly and informative. Took me on a great tour and explain the different programs they have.

Good place with a lot of resources. I take the kids here all the time, they got many programs and so many choices. Glad to have this here in town as a resource, always have a good experience when we go here. The people are helpful and are willing to answer questions when they can. My boss April Engman doesn't like this place, but if you look at her life choices her opinion doesn't really matter much. Highly recommended.

Everyone is always kind and helpful at the Dickinson Northern Lights YMCA. My teenage boys love it and so do my littles. They have a great selection of programs and are affordable. The only thing I would like to see more of are programs for the older kids. My boys enjoy basketball and working out but they do not have options for programs when the hit their age until they are old enough for the adult programs.

I finally checked out the Northern Lights YMCA in Iron Mountain, MI, and let's just say I wasn't exactly doing cartwheels afterward. First off, their membership programs? Total letdown. They make it sound like you're getting the deal of the century, but when you actually dive into it, it's like, "Wait, that's it?" And don't even get me started on the facilities – talk about basic. I was expecting some next-level amenities, but instead, it felt like I was back in high school gym class. Overall, not the worst place ever, but definitely not worth the hype. Guess I'll keep hunting for the perfect gym spot.

If you have a membership & are not taking advantage of the free classes, I highly suggest Stacy Harrison’s Pi-yoga Fusion (Mon & Wed) & Wake-Up Workout (Tues-Thurs) classes. At first I wasn’t too excited about getting up that early, but now that I’ve been doing it I absolutely LOVE it & Stacy is wonderful. (P.S. If you don’t have a membership, you can still go for a reasonable price).

We pay for a membership year round and get minimized to the amount of stuff we can do around the YMCA. I thought the YMCA was going to be a place for young kids like me to go play basketball, lift weights, swim, and get treated like family. This was until after many months of lifting with my adult brother, we got talked to by an a man and got threatened to get kicked out if we didn’t sign up for a orientation that we did not know about. We’ve felt very comfortable after all these months up until now.Paying all this money to only play basketball( in between the times where people can apparently rent out the gym) and swim at certain times not being able to use the equipment.

I went into the weight room not knowing the requirements to be present in there. The man was not too kind to us with him explaining the rules. He will kick us out the next time it happens when this is our first and only warning

Some older guy with white hair came up to my brothers and I in the weight room and was super hostile about us being in there when we didn’t know they needed an orientation. He then said he’s going to kick us out of the building if we do it again. We were understanding the whole time and weren’t sure why he was being so hostile to us. Very rude.

Highly recommend the Mommy and me swimming classes! The instructor is great, and they are so reasonably priced ($20 for 5, 30-minute lessons).
