I just learned back in 1970/71 this building was a recording studio where Gundella the Green Witch, who back then, was a fairly well known local witch, used the place to record her record albums of spell casting and stories of witches and their practices. Interesting background history.

The Redford Model Railroad Club, established in 1938, is the oldest club of it's kind in Michigan. It's members range in age from preteens to octagenarians. The club's highly detailed H.O. gauge layout offers a variety of operational challenges that experienced and inexperienced modellers can enjoy. Membership is open; no modelling experience is required: just enthusiasm for model railroading and a willingness to participate in the club's activities.

I attended a club meeting with my friend whose late grandfather had been an active member. We watched the trains run through several aisles and I was blown away by the creativity and skill in building this beautiful world. Also by the warmth, hospitality and care shown by the members.Definitely worth attending one of their events!

The Redford Model Railroad Club is an interesting place to visit. It is an important hub locally for the model train hobby. The designers, architects, engineers and builders that work and play here have created a truly enjoyable layout. Their attention to detail is greatly appreciated. I am especially happy about their open house days when the public can enter the building and watch as the work is done to build and maintain the railways as well as operate the trains and the switching system. If you have young ones interested in engineering, machines and commerce as well as nature, this is a great place to visit. It's wonderful for all ages. Train safety is also a matter that is taken very seriously at this location and that is important because this area has a lot of full sized trains - and learning safety during play and work on the miniaturized scale is meaningful and provides an important public service. It's a great way to spend an afternoon.
