When looking for an outdoor wedding location my Mom mentioned Waldenwoods to me because she had seen it driving North on 23. We went in for a walk around to check out and grounds and see what they offer for outdoor weddings and I fell in love with their Sunshine Garden tent wedding location. Right off lake Walden, with the beautiful scenery and rustic buildings and atmosphere. We picked late June knowing the weather may be gorgeous but could also be wet. Turns out we got the shorter end of the stick when it came to the weather. It was 60 degrees, strong winds and rained all day long. Everyone kept joking that it was the hurricane of June 27th. This never once affected our wedding day and how much fun we had, we wouldn't change it for anything. The staff did everything they could possibly do to make our guests comfortable considering the elements. Our ceremony was moved from the outdoor lake front pergola to the reception tent with ease, and other then the high winds you would've never known it was raining while underneath the tent. It kept us all warm and dry. We somehow got lucky enough that our reception was ended with the most beautiful sunset over the lake. All our guests were raving about the location, the service and the food. The food was amazing! People are still talking about how much they loved the food! We highly recommend the Cromaine chicken and potatoes au gratin. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Waldenwoods, food was also amazing! The staff was very helpful and watchful if we needed anything at all.We recommend Waldenwoods to anyone looking for a private, rustic, vintage romantic wedding location. This place has it all!You can even rent the lodges or cottages, makes getting ready and packing up after the reception a breeze. The bridal party and I stayed in the A Frame cottage (sleeps 12), it was perfect for a girls night the night before the wedding, and you can also spend time swimming at the lake. We invited friends and family to stay in the Friendship lodge with us the night of the wedding, sleeps around 40 people and has 19 rooms. Perfect for gathering after the reception for a fire and roasting marshmallows. Thanks again to the staff at Waldenwoods for making our wedding everything we could've ever hoped for and more!

So far so good. We have eaten there for several events and the food is very delicious. Planning a wedding shower and wedding there for the summer of 2025. They are upfront with what to expect and follow through with what they say they will do. Looking forward to the events.

Kinda different trying to find the place. The location was great from where we had to drive.nWe are not sure of any rooms since we didn't stay the night. It would have been better if it was open bar for the party we had. :) But it was still wonderful company!!!

I love the beautiful nature scenes of this place. It is gorgeous in the fall and so fun sledding in the winter. The only part that is frustrating is paying for the membership every month and still having to pay full price for all the cabin and tiny homes. Also the 1 week stay we usually use for Christmas or thanksgiving for our large family is now only offered to the tiny homes. Which is disappointing. Otherwise we love it here!

We have been a member of Waldenwoods for over 10 years. The first 7 years it was five stars all the way. Unfortunately with COVID and additional campers it became hard to get a decent site. With the expensive membership and dues yearly this should never be the case! The downside is No updates to additional sites or hookups in existing sites. There is no enforcement of small campers using smaller sites that large rigs don't fit on.However this is a magical place with tons of things to enjoy. The staff is wonderful and goes out of their way to make family fun.The lake , pool, tennis courts and rental equipment is an added bonus to the enjoyment. The dinners and drinks at the restaurant or bell ringer is always a nice way to get out or the town of Heartland has everything you may need.We understand a new camping area is in progress. We are looking forward to our next trip out there!!Food & drinks: Great food at the restaurant and bell ringerNoteworthy details: Beautiful lake view and very quiet

We live 20 minutes from Walden and we love how frequently we get to do a mini escape. It’s a safe haven for out kids to ride bikes, they live at the playground and the improvements that the member services team are making this year are awesome! Having fun activities scheduled every hour is a huge hit. The kids plan their day together and remind each other when it’s time for certain events.

We’ve had a membership for a few years now. From what we were told - things haven’t been the same since Covid, but what is….. Staffing is tough, but you can tell they’re trying to make your visit the best it can be.There’s a lake, a pool, a hot tub, a restaurant! Those things alone make the trip enjoyable. Plus it’s very kid friendly and we love that

Went to 2 weddings here in the same weekend and both were lovely . One was outside in a gorgeous tent , only bad part was the chairs for the ceremony were set up in the mud. Would have been nice to bring boots for that part lol. The other wedding was at the indoor venue which was totally different but equally beautiful. Parking lot is gravel and difficult to walk thru in high heels which is why I took off a star. Other than that, highly recommend

I had my wedding at Waldenwoods this past Saturday and want to make note of how awesome Waldenwoods was and their entire staff. First of all the whole team was very easy and quick to communicate with throughout the entire process. I don’t think it ever took more than 30 minutes to answer any of my many many emails and questions. We had Gail as our wedding coordinator and she was so kind and patient with me and our wedding party for our rehearsal and on the day of the wedding. We booked the bridal suite and I am so glad we did! Very convenient being right on site to help set my decor up and get all of my girls ready. Our wedding was so beautiful and I got so many complements on the hall and food. We also booked the cabin, friendship lodge and rooms at the sunshine lodge. The lodging on site was a big reason we went with Waldenwoods and having a place for everyone to WALK to after the wedding was a huge hit and very helpful. Well worth the money and my day was a dream!
