DO NOT CHOOSE THIS CLINIC FOR YOUR PET!! One of the worst experiences of my life. Absolutely the worst customer service you can imagine. Taylor the manager/technician and the daughter to Dr. Freid has zero compassion for animals, has a very rude, unapproachable presence in which her body language and the tone of voice she uses when she speaks is completely disrespectful. She is able to speak in front of her mother, Dr. Freid to customers in this manor and Dr. Freid does nothing to correct it or make her stop. In addition to my experience, my puppy had an even worse experience in this clinic. The staff are inhumane and absolutely showed no compassion for my puppy. They tried to put a muzzle on my dog, saying he was aggressive and had a pattern or trying to bite. They weren't at all trying to make my dog feel comfortable or trying to let him warm up. After suggesting that a different technique be used for my dog to receive vaccinations, I was told by Taylor, who had a clear attitude and disrespectful tone of voice "we will show you exactly how your dog tries to charge at us and bite us, watch it for your own eyes, because he does." As I sat there and watched my dog approach both of them calmly, I stated to them to maybe let him warm up and maybe if they would pet him and make him feel more comfortable then he wouldn't be so scared. Taylor would not even attempt to pet my dog. In fact she was asked by Dr. Freid to leave the room for a minute. Dr. Freid did for a few mins and was able to see that he was in fact a sweet dog who was not aggressive. After getting him to calm down, Taylor came back into the room and administered my dogs vaccinations while Dr. Freid held my dogs head. She put the vaccinations in my dogs back.... Not even in the neck where they are typically given. They gave my dog multiple vaccinations in which following he was laying on the ground unable to breathe and moaning in the lobby. After I stated something was really wrong with my dog, the receptionist got the doctor and Dr. Freid rushed him back stating he needed to be put on oxygen. During the whole time he was in the back approximately 20-30mins I was left in the lobby with absolutely NO communication of what was going on with my dog. They would not allow me to go into the room that my dog was in. In addition to that, I was never informed that they put a cath in my dogs leg or what they gave him through the cath. When I got home I saw the shaved mark on his leg where it was inserted. 5 hours after the appointment, I then had to rush my dog to the MSU Emergency Veterinary hospital due to his body going into anaphylactic attack. He broke out in hives all over his body, his breathing was restricted due to his throat swelling. After getting him treated at MSU, they made it very clear that he should never have been given that many vaccinations in one appointment. I regret ever allowing my dog to get services at Red Barn Veterinary Medical Center. This place should be SHUT DOWN. This experience was traumatic and unnecessary for my dog and for myself. They clearly have no understanding of what is best for animals and they absolutely have zero regard for what good customer service is. I hope that anyone considering this place for your pet, you read this and DO NOT make the mistake I made.

Insisted on taking a stressed old dog in the back where he would thrash and have to be muzzled , which I do not allow. They know this and have never not let me handle my dog while they administer shots. He’s wonderful when done this way . He’s a tiny dog and has never hurt anyone there as I hold him!! You lost a faithful client I will be taking my dog elsewhere.

Dr. Freid, Taylor, and the entire staff at Red Barn are wonderful. They helped me through the recent loss of 2 of my dogs, for which I'm extremely grateful.

All of the staff are extremely kind especially the veteran. In all my years owning a pet ( witch is over 40 years) I have never experienced such heart felt care. Thank you for caring so much about my 16 year old chihuahua. When he collapsed in my yard last fall you were the only Vet that would see him immediately even though he wasn’t a client of yours at this time and my own vet couldn’t find the time to see him or several others I called that day in the Howell area. Thank you for your spectacular service !

Front desk was always super friendly. I never had a bad experience! Sometimes they may be busy, but people should take into account how crazy and understaffed many industries are!

Horrible customer service. They will tell you that you need to give them your drivers license number just for your pet to be seen here. But then they tell you that they need it if rx's are prescribed. That makes no sense to need it to be seen but only for a controlled substance prescription, definitely an invasion of too much personal information to have your pet seen. Very rude employee when I questioned them on this.

The staff was very informative as to what was happening with our dog, let us know all that was done and why. Our coco had 4 teeth extracted and had his teeth cleaned after suffering with abscess on both sides of his mouth. Their prices were affordable and appointment was fast. Live on the Eastside but well worth the trip. Thank you to all staff.

Been going to VMC for 17 years and three pets later. Dr. Freid has been exceptional to work with most recently teaching us how to manage a diabetic pet. Very compassionate and committed to our pets.

This place is just incredible! We are new in town and made an appointment at another vet but Red Barn was able to get us in sooner due to a cancellation. The staff there are compassionate, personal and professional. Obviously this starts at the top as the 2 doctors are incredible people let alone professionals. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and we would recommend them to all dog owners.
