This is a review about my experience with Stillwell Ford's body shop, but also speaks to the overall ethical culture of the organization. After a driver hit my parked car, I brought in our SUV to for a repair estimate. After several days, I was told it would be $5,354. I agreed and stated I would pay this price. After 7-8 weeks (delayed due to the availability of parts and backed up projects), I was told the car was ready. I paid the agreed upon price of $5,354, was told the car was "paid in full", and left with the car.About three weeks later I received an additional bill. This was for "supplemental work" performed. At no time during the repair was any of this communicated to me. I contracted with Stillwell at $5,354 and they then decided to do (or claimed they did) additional work - without any permission from me whatsoever.I refused to pay the upcharge. Stillwell's manager then calls me multiple times, and says they'll take me to small claims court if I don't pay - which they do. They literally sue me for work I never agreed to nor knew was occuring. We go before a judge who they have appeared regularly who states that even though there was no contract for any of this extra work, my car's value was enhanced and it's unjust if I don't pay for it. I'm assessed the additional cost - plus court fees.I value firms who seek to do business ethically and treat customers with respect. Stillwell Ford does not.
