I hate Lafontaine in Highland now.After searching all over for a car to meet my specific needs, I finally found one at Highland Lafontaine, or so I thought.I had to buy all new tires for the car before I could even use it. That should've been the first red flag, but I was stubborn because I really wanted this car to workout.Not even a month into ownership I had to return the car to the dealer for repairs to the heating system and the suspension. Lafontaine's repair shop diagnosed the issues and ended up holding onto my car for just under a month (way longer than I expected).Also while in possession of my vehicle the service shop employees left marijuana paraphernalia in my center counsel. They never made amends for it either. They just brushed it under the rug.As a courtesy the dealer provided me with a free loaner. Except their private rental company is ran by mob bosses who call you and threaten you if you don't pay quick enough.When I finally got my vehicle back the service department told me they ended up repairing something completely different than what they originally told me and that it should've fixed the issue. They didn't touch my suspension.About a week after the repair I had to bring the car in again for a check engine light. I asked about the paraphernalia left in my car and was met with skepticism as though I made the whole thing up.Now I finally took the vehicle to 2 other places to get a second and third opinion and lo and behold my car needs a new cam shaft assembly. A repair upwards of $1000.I've spoken to a lawyer and I qualify for the Michigan lemon law act since the car has spent more than 30 days out of use due to service, has had multiple repairs and is still under manufacture warranty.I wish Lafontaine would have made me whole the many, many opportunities I gave them, but they chose not to.

Absolute Robbers! My wife was in Michigan at an event and had issues. Took her truck in and they said it needed 2 new batteries. 2 new batteries is perfectly fine and I understand ….. she was in the dealership less than 1 hour as I spoke to her when she got there and then paid the bill when she left … LABOR ALONE WAS $324.00 ….. the 2 new batteries were only $478.00 which was fine! Please beware if your wife, parents or friends go to this dealership! LESS THAN 1 HOUR ..UNREAL!

I dropped the vehicle off for an oil change and new tires. The service manager also recommended extensive preventative maintenance after the inspection. When I returned and paid, it became apparent that the service lane did NOT INSTALL the tires I paid for, though they did manage all the extra work I paid for. I only realized this after I inspected it at home. In addition, the shop scratched my truck, and has had it for a week as they try to repair that. Communication has been very poor and there is little accountabilityUpdated later: The dealership did their part to remedy the situation and make me whole materially. Thomas in the service lane was understanding of my concerns and I believe they are working to implement process improvements.

I worked with a new employee in service. While she was nice and capable, she did not have enough training. My check in took almost 20 minutes. My oil change/ tire rotation was longer than expected as well. I was not kept appraised.

The after sales at this dealership sucks! I purchased my new/used truck from them just shy of two months ago. For starters, the truck was “ detailed “ which it was still filthy inside when I got in to drive it off the lot, and it needed new tires ( safety problem? ) All I asked of the salesman at the time of purchase is that I wanted two keys for the vehicle. He stated the other key was with another employee who was off and would contact me when it’s returned so I could get it. I have not heard back from the salesman nor the used sales manager after multiple times trying to contact them. In addition, the truck broke down on me about two weeks ago and required it having to be towed. I had it towed to a dealership closer to me as I live an hour away from LaFontaine Highland where I purchased it. They informed me that the engine was just recently replaced and there was a connector for my cam position sensor that was pinched and failed from chaffing. Not too happy with the lack of disclosure on that and the communication.

BUYER BEWARE!It all started great. The salesperson was helpful, and the facilities were incredible. What dealership has a gift shop and Bistro??!!It is in pricing and paperwork that get you.1 they automatically add a vehicle prep line to the tune of $1300. When I questioned it, the answer was "We will circle back to that"2 I requested an extended warranty of 5yr/100,00 miles. Cost $4000I found an identical vehicle at another dealership that was 10K miles less and $1500 cheaper.After sharing this information with the salesperson. All I got was excuses on how their pricing was fair and that the purchase price was reasonable. "Let me see what I can do" I never got a call back from the salesperson. I heard from other representatives but in the end, nothing changed. I spent the better part of two days with this. What did I do? Hard pass! I purchased an identical vehicle with 10K fewer miles from another dealer and saved $1000 in warranties from the same companies that they were offering. BTW I also got free oil changes for as long as I own the vehicle. If you decide to do business here watch the fine print. You must wonder. If they overcharge you on warranties when they are trying to win your business what will they be like when you need service?

I held off on this review for a while because I was hoping everything would work out in the end, but I’m not so sure anymore.I purchased a “certified used” vehicle here. Not sure what they mean by certified as I now know it apparently doesn’t mean that there’s no issues. Right away my heat wasn’t working, it needed new tires before I could even drive it, the suspension has issues and it idles at a high rpm.I specifically chose this car and didn’t want any other one in the lot. So I asked them to repair what was wrong with the $17k car I just bought from them. Unfortunately the UAW strike happened and the dealer ended up holding on to my new car for over a month.Fortunately they offered me a free loaner for the time. However I just recently got my car back and only the heat was fixed. My suspension is still loud and it still idles high and not only that…One of service department employees left marijuana paraphernalia in my new car!I called the GM and the service manager and sooner heard back from the loaner department manager who called me, mob style, demanding money from me. I tried telling her I was happy to pay what I owed once someone reached out to me about what was going on with my vehicle. She wasn’t having it. Pretty much called me a thief then said I was banned from receiving a loaner ever again.I was going to wait for this review until I felt made whole by this dealership but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Oh well. You live and you learn. Just won’t be recommending this place or coming back. Which is a shame because I had a great buying experience with my salesman. He’s the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one.

Colleen in used car sales was exceptional from the first phone call until handing me the keys.We need a solid work van and they had one fully outfitted on the lot.Colleen’s communication was top notch, he was friendly, courteous, easy to speak with.Every company could use a someone like Colleen he put a great face on LaFotaine Buick.Fantastic experience.

I always have a great experience with this dealership in the service department. I needed a rental while my car was serviced. Mike was very helpful and king. My vehicle was repaired quickly and communication was seamless through text messages.

My experience was painless! The opposite as of we were expecting. Actually it was surprisingly delightful. I was able to shop, test drive and buy a car in 1.5 hour. Key info like price and financing was set very quickly, documents were sent digitally to sign later on during the day. No blue burro. To connect my vehicle, just my email was required, so easy! The car was delivered to my drive way few hours after. Best experience in the last 7 years, 3 cars…

The staff is always friendly and quick. I usually wait for my oil to be changed. I stay in the lovely lounge and shop at the gift store. They have beautiful things! Great experience!

My engine blew out but thankfully I bought an extended warranty and the new engine was fully covered. Rich Langmaid was my service advisor and his work was exceptional. He kept me in communication with the status of my vehicle as it progressed and was patient with me throughout. I also REALLY appreciate the availability of loaner vehicles, as my vehicle repairs took a total of about 6 weeks. I did have to wait a week for a loaner to become available, but that made a HUGE difference in my ability to be patient in return. I have been driving my car with the newly installed engine for about a week now and everything seems to be working well. Overall a satisfied customer.

Don't ever buy A car from this place. Mine sat for over three months using one of their loaner cars. I allege that They knew what was wrong with the car before they sold it to me.

I've never had such a GREAT experience buying a car. Our salesperson, Samantha, was absolutely amazing throughout our 16 month order and our delivery. The showroom is beautiful. Everyone was so kind. It was a fabulous experience from start to finish. I'd totally go back!!
