Rob and John are two excellent barbers. Definitely the feel of an old school barber shop when you go in. Stories are abundant, occasionally a few opinions discussed amongst clients and the barbers, but always good general discourse to go along with your wait and needed hair trim.
Walk ins *can* happen infrequently, but call and make appointments ahead of time to be safe. Although Rob and John do their best to get everyone in as much as they possibly can.
I enjoy them, and I think you will, too.

Grosse Pointe can be tricky with retail and service businesses. It's not Troy with a shop on every corner. Getting my hair cut at Dave's is always a fun experience. The barbers run on schedule, charge a reasonable price, and do solid work. Plus, the conversation is always lively, and they make their patrons feel welcome. If you live in the area, this is the place to go. You can call a couple days ahead and make an appointment, especially if you are a regular customer. They will get it done.

I call to make an appointment and no one answered. I showed up to two people waiting and waited for 30 minutes to be told I can't be seen. I get you need an appointment but don't let people sit there knowing they don't have one.

This place is the real deal. If you are looking for a legit barbershop with highly skilled REAL barbers, this is the place. I had my first cut here the other day and John was my barber; I walked out a happy man. I will always come here from now on.

Great atmosphere. My three boys and I all get our hair cut here. John and Rob do a great job. They are polite, courteous and patient. I highly recommend them.

This place is wonderful....Rob does a fantastic job on my husband's very thick, very wavey hair... which many other could not. Also very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend to any male you g or old.
