I found Collab last fall when I was searching for a new salon. I was new to GP & hadn’t been to a salon since Covid. I was booked with Tawnya & was happy with my experience/dark highlights. Fast forward to yesterday. I was scheduled for highlights with Tawnya & from the moment I walked in I felt like I was meeting a different person. I immediately had the impression that she was not happy. Not sure if it’s the job, the task, or my hair, but not happy. I found a picture of myself with heavy blonde highlights & she started saying “that’s basically a dye job, there’s so much blonde”. Funny, no one else has ever had a problem with me asking for heavy blonde highlights. Then she proceeded to say she couldn’t guarantee she could match the look. I’m pretty laid back & would have been fine with her doing her best ( I was pleased the last visit), but she kept going on about the processing time & having to pull the color through my old highlights. Ok, I get it. It’s going to be a lot of work for you. I didn’t need the eye rolls either. I was there to PAY for a service. She was acting like she was giving away free service & I was honestly offended. I told her to stop brushing out my hair & I left. I don’t want someone working on my hair if they really don’t feel like doing it. There are too many salons in GP for me to settle for that kind of service.

Brett has been cutting my hair for 20 years. He is absolutely a master at his craft! He is always up on the latest trends, meticulous in his method, and is extraordinarily talented. I have had Chris Jones, the Instagram bob guru, and honestly Brett is better! Why go to the Woodlands, when Brett is the bob guru of Detroit!The salon is super hip and Cori gives the best shampoo head massage!Book early, he fills up FAST!
