I can’t believe how horribly I was treated by some of the staff at this hotel. I planned a small get together for my son’s 6th birthday. I called weeks ahead of time to get details and to make sure everything was okay and approved. When I arrive to the hotel I’m getting told new things that were not explained or mentioned to me when I called weeks in advanced. I was frustrated but still willing to change my plans even though it was an inconvenience and frustrating I understood and complied because rules are rules. I spoke with Taylor for 30 minutes making sure that the new plans in place were approved and okay, I was told I was good to go she gave me my key I swiped my card I spun the wheel and headed to my room. Not even an hour of being in my room I get told that myself and guests have to leave because there’s too many of us it’s a fire hazard and there was a so called noise complaint, it’s only 4pm at this point and you couldn’t even hear the children in the room my little sister was in the hallway and told me she didn’t hear us at all. I feel like we were being told lies and they just wanted us out. At the end of the day kids are going to be kids and at times they may get noisy but they were not being obnoxious and we weren’t even in the room for a full hour!! The kids did settle after their initial excitement and were eating I mean what do you expect they’re excited to see each other!! So now we’re trying to figure out why we’re being told we have to leave when we were told it was okay for us to stay and swim, they knew how many people were staying the night and they knew how many were staying just to swim. Taylor gave us the wristbands herself for us to swim and she even gave us more than what we needed so what was the problem?? I don’t know and I still don’t. Regardless of everything it seems like there was a misunderstanding and it could of been easily resolved and handled way better but instead I was treated very poorly and they are refusing to refund me my money!! Like I mentioned before we weren’t in the room long at all the bed wasn’t even undone, all we used was one pot to cook the hot dogs! It got so bad that the employee Taylor called the cops so now I have children crying and scared. I feel like I was discriminated against because of the color of my skin and it’s not okay and very unfair. Also on our way back up to the room there were minors walking back to their room from the pool one without wristbands and two talking about drinking. When they opened their door to their room they had a room full of people and it was the same size room that we had. Oh they were all white and this is why I said what I said because how are you telling us we have too many people in our room and there was a so called noise complaint but you guys are allowing underage drinking and they have a room full?? On top of that I was getting constant eye rolls and I wasn’t fully getting answers as to why I had to leave. When I asked for the general manager he instantly was rude and refused to refund my money as well. I even called cooperate and they haven’t been much help they told me I had to speak to the general manager and I explained that I did already and that didn’t help me at all!! Who is above this general manger?? They aren’t giving me names or numbers and I keep being told I don’t know by staff?! At this point I feel like they’re all just trying to cover their ass and it’s a SCAM!! It’s very wrong and very suspicious and I WILL NEVER RETURN!! I WILL get my money back I am a fighter and I WILL NOT stop until I get back what I deserve. Definitely not okay at all!! They have absolutely no right to keep money, THEY are the ones that made the mistake in the first place and I even CHANGED my plans willingly when I got there and did what I was told so WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?? There’s no reason told hold my money!! SCAM SCAM SCAM and I won’t stop fighting!! I feel like we deserve more than just a refund because of the way we were treated!! My son was so sad and scared and so were his friends. NOT OK!! No there was not 13 guests!

No towels at the pool each time we went, breakfast was over an hour late and was very disgusting, was lied about a pull out couch in our room so we didn't bring our air mattress, never was a roll away cart when we got there or checking out, laundry room was filthy, seems like the night shift did nothing at all, then people were just sitting in the lobby hanging out and said to my 15 year old daughter and my 20 year old nieces that they'd pay them $200 to go back to their room with them. Was not professional at all and paying $225 for my room I expected way more than we received. Will not go back!!
Noteworthy details: Crap hotel, booked in advance and was told everything would be good. Checked in, paid and now there is a problem. Claims there was a noise complaint at 4pm. Only been here an hour. Little swim party for a 6 year old and was told it's fine when booking. Now they literally are keeping our money and kicking some 6 year old out, while a bunch of teenagers are getting drunk in their room but let's kick the year old out. I think it's because they are racist. The 16 year old are white and the 6 year olds are bi-racial. Don't ever stay here, they suck and steel your money.

Rooms: The 1 bedroom suites are spacious and clean, with a large bedroom, a living room, kitchen and dining area.
Noteworthy details: This hotel serves free breakfast and free dinners, has an AMAZING outdoor seating area with firepits, and it's free to wash and dry laundry!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. A few things lead me to the 4 star review. Mostly housekeeping issues… dishwasher full of dishes (I would’ve liked a break from emptying the dishwasher, haha), stuff on the floor (pill, hair tie, cheerio), and some stains on the wall (kinda blood colored). Heat did not work in one of the rooms which wasn’t great with a newborn. I wish the pool was a bit warmer, but my kids didn’t care at all, so no big deal. Staff was nice and the breakfast buffet was great. Like I said, overall it was a nice visit and good value. Those things wouldn’t stop me from trying a second stay.
Rooms: We stayed in the two room suite. The room with the king bed was at least 10 degrees colder than the living room and room with two queens. The room overall was nice and in good condition.
Food and drinks: Breakfast buffet was good and refilled promptly.

I had to stay here recently Due to some pretty severe winter storms. Commuting from the Lake shore to where I work would be too dangerous so I decided to get a hotel. I couldn’t be happier with this hotel. The king suite was surprisingly low in price and the room itself was more like a small apartment. It was clean, comfortable and in general very quiet. The staff is friendly and complementary dinner was offered which was a pleasant surprise. I would definitely stay here again!

Great King Ben Room Floorplan. Amazingingly large courtyard. Very quiet rooms, modern, clean. Would stay here every visit.

We had booked online and the hotel double booked us. After four calls they totally admitted they could see the double payment but was completely unwilling to issue the credit. We are still fighting to get the 2nd payment back. Amazing..four people (calls) with an “I dont care attitude”. We will not be returning to any staybridge hotel even though we had good experiences elsewhere.

Room was very nice and clean, staff down to even the ladies cleaning super nice, front desk people very polite. Pool and hot tub facility was nice and clean, exterior of the building also very nice very clean. Photo of the outside when we were hanging out waiting for the sun set.
