“I bought a 2004 CR-V with over 200,000 miles on it for my 18-year-old son from Paris Motors last month. It had also been in an accident. I wouldn't have even gone to look at it if my son hadn't been a bit desperate for a vehicle. We also have had good experiences with CR-Vs in the past. I was hoping to get them to come down on the price, but they wouldn't budge (except a $150-coupon, which doesn't amount to much). The staff was friendly and helpful.Less than 2 weeks later (6 days of which the car wasn't driven because we were out of town) the vehicle wouldn't let you accelerate over 3000 rpms without shuddering hard. I was quite angry. However, Paris Motors covered the repair (a clogged solenoid) in full, and even gave my son a loaner to drive while it was in the shop. I was pleasantly surprised by the way they took care of things.I'm only giving them 4 stars because I still think I it was overpriced, but they really took care of us!”

“My brother bought a car here a few years back. Ed was awesome! I was looking for a vehicle. so of course this was the 1st place i looked! Ed sold me a pretty rare vehicle. i thought i hit the jackpot till i drove it home. come to find out it had a blown head gasket. and it was a piece of junk. they only made them for one year! Ed was gonna help me fix it till we found out it was way too much. He gave me my money back and called it good! Ed is a stand up guy even though he claims he doesnt know much about the car ur buying. just make sure you get it checked out real good!”

“Nice selection of clean, rust free, used vehicles, most with new tires. I was looking for a 4wd SUV, something with low mileage for the year, clean inside and out. They had several vehicles that fit that criteria for me and in the price range I was looking for. I did a background check on a few vehicles. I knew that they came from Florida and could see the standard maintenance performed. Buying any used vehicle is a gamble. But if you can see that oil changes have been done on time and other general maintenance performed it helps make an informed decision. I am a do it yourselfer. I inspected the vehicle inside and out and the undercarriage. The vehicle being rust free was a top priority for me since I new I was buying a 12 year old vehicle with almost 100k miles. I knew there would be some general maintenance issues coming up and that makes working on it and replacing worn parts so much easier than buying a used Michigan rust bucket. Time, use, weather, and Mileage wear things out. It's not a question of if something will go wrong with any vehicle. Things will wear out and need replaced. I have had the vehicle for close to 6 months and driven almost 8000 miles now. Purchased with about 92000 miles and just rolled over 100,000 miles. I just replaced the front passenger side wheel bearing that started making noise a few weeks ago. Simple to do since this is a clean rust free car. $190.00 part an online auto parts wholesaler and 2 hours on a Saturday and it is fixed. For reference a local repair shop quoted me $450 for the part and $250 for labor. This is typical wear and tear and to be expected when I bought a now 13 year old vehicle with over 100k miles. I never expected the dealer to have a crystal ball that sees in to the future and replace every part on every car that he sells that might go bad. That would be incredibly unreasonable. There is a reason that even car manufacturers limit their bumper to bumper and powertrain warranties on new vehicles. Parts have a reasonable expected service life. I knew that I was buying an older used vehicle AS IS. I don't recall the name of the person I dealt with at Westbrook Motors. I assumed he was the owner. He was friendly, and very easy going. He was not a used car salesman trying to sell me something to make a buck. He let me look at what I was interested and made the buying process quick and easy. I never got the impression that he was anything but honest about what he knew about the vehicles on the lot. Even tho it was an AS IS purchase he said if there is something minor that happens in the next few weeks after the sale like a sensor, or bulb, to come in and he'd take care of it. I don't expect to be in the market for a new to me used vehicle for a several years now but when I am, I will definitely check here again.”

“I was thoroughly impressed with Terry the owner. I paid $6,500 after taxes and fees for a solid van, WAY less than what i would've paid at a dealership, but the weather got hot suddenly, and I discovered the ac didn't work. I showed back up and Terry pulled his mechanic off what he was doing immediately, and had him recharge the ac. Terry then told me to let him know if that didn't work, and they'd find what was wrong and fix it.Sure enough, the next day all the refrigerant had leaked out and the ac didn't work again. Terry had me bring it back and said his mechanic would push everything else out of the way and try and fix it the same day. So I brought it back in, and they had it fixed by mid afternoon.What impressed me so much was that Terry COULD HAVE chosen to hide behind the bold-printed 'as is' sales contract and just told me to take a hike, but he didn't. And he never charged me one cent for the repair, even though replacing a condenser is easily a $300 job on the cheap end.Also, I noticed that the van was having some trouble idling after a trip on the highway. Again my fault for not checking it more thoroughly before buying it, but Terry told me they'd be able to fix it if it threw a code. I've already pinpointed the problem - needs a new egr valve and tube - and I'll be replacing it myself, but I know that Terry would honor his word if I asked him.Another thing I should point out is that Terry responded honestly to every single Google review, and his dealership has no complaints registered with the BBB as of a week and a half ago when I checked.The last thing that impressed me was that even when I was looking at the 4 vehicles I was interested in, whenever I mentioned to Terry anything that I found that wasn't working (e.g. low washer fluid, engine rumblings when idle, etc) he would immediately send his mechanic Thomas out to check the vehicle.I appreciate the opportunity to do business with an honest man, and my family and I will DEFINITELY be returning to Southern Auto in the future!”
