I have shopped at Talsmas for years and never had a problem. Until now!! I went to the warehouse sale. I purchased several things including a sofa. After spending $1500 for the sofa within 2 weeks the sofa was having issues. I called and spoke to the manager who promptly told me " to bad " because I purchased it during the big sale. Great unfriendly customer service. NEVER SHOP there ever again!!!

NOTE: Reviewer's location is Grand Rapids, MI. Extremely disappointed in giving a 'family-owned' company the benefit of the doubt with our purchase of two power recliners one year ago. They have turned out to be very low quality. I wished I had read these reviews before doing business with Talsma. I strongly urge you to shop with caution and not feel swayed by the home-town sales pitch. Within 6-8 months, one of our new recliners required a service visit due to its sagging seat. And FYI, my 92yr old mother weighs all of 110lbs. They replaced the seat core cushion twice and on the last and third visit they shoved some loose stuffing in the back cushion. There is basically no attempt to retain your business or address the quality and durability issue. After reading several reviews here, it is definitely a quality issue. "We don't make the furniture, we just sell it". Mine is not an isolated case. We were told in the end it was an 'individual comfort issue' and not a defect. I have never had to address furniture issues before and as I explained to the representative on the phone, I am not comparing their furniture to high end furniture. I simply expected much better quality, durability, empathy, and customer care. Fair warning to you fall and holiday furniture shoppers! Buyer be very aware.

We spent an afternoon looking for a new recliner for my elderly mother. Jacquelyn was incredibly patient as she helped us find the best option for our situation. Her input was invaluable.

I didn't want to wait 6-10 months for furniture so I asked for delivery dates prior to my selection and didn't ask for customization. I found a couch and chair that the salesperson said would deliver in 10 weeks. They never contacted me with updates and when I called them I was given different delivery dates each time. After 20 weeks I asked to cancel my order. I was given the run around by managers and the owner. One specific manager was extremely rude and told me to feel lucky I wasn't in the furniture business. They stated I had a custom order even though I made no changes from the floor displayed furniture. 24 weeks later I finally received my furniture. Terrible customer service and salespeople are not knowledgeable of the products. They make you feel like you matter until they have your money.

I am only giving this 1 star because I cannot give them 0 stars. Our immediate and extended family have been shopping here for decades. I am not sure what changed, but their customer service is now horrendous. Additionally, the quality of their products has declined considerably. We purchased $5k+ of furniture with them and NONE of it held up for longer than a year. We purchased the Montage Furniture Services warranty, as well. That has been a disaster trying to complete a claim. We began the process last September. It is still not resolved. I would assume since Talsma sells the warranty package, they would be more concerned with how that company handles its warranty claims. They are not. We have been treated rudely by the sales people, they have been rigid and unaccommodating, and they do NOT stand by the products they sell. We will be telling anyone who will listen to NOT shop there and to NEVER purchase the warranty they sell. It is a scam. So dissappointed!

I bought a custom U-shaped sofa for $5000, with attached pillow back that are deformed now. The black lining underneath the sofa has disintegrated into a black inky dust that stained the carpet and anything it touches. Tells my customer service wants to charge to come out and replace the black lining for $75.

Stop in this store on Monday of this week. I was looking to replace all of my living room furniture. I noticed 6 people working behind the counter and after walking around the entire store, not one person asked if I needed help! Guess I'll have to spend my money somewhere else!!

I called to order new cushions two times both times they took all my information including the information and details about the cushions. Each time I was told they would look into it and call me back. It has now been at least six months. I called again today and spoke to Nick the manager. We got disconnected, I tried calling right back and there was no answer. Nick had my information, so one would think he would call me back. The customer service that I have received has been horrible. They show no value to their customers. After I get this situation resolved, I will never use Talsma furniture again.
