The Shell on 54th Street gets a 4 star rating for its store. It offers a terrific selection of coffees, snacks, cold drinks and a Subway shoppe that stays open late. Employees are super friendly, know regular customers and build relationships with them. Service is described as extremely nice, helpful and amazing, with some staff going above and beyond to save a battery or helped with the cheapest gas, the cheapest gas in the city. The pump area, however, receives a 1 star experience. At times the early morning pump area can be dangerous, with aggressive panhandlers roam the pumps and parking lot, blocking car doors and demanding money. Management is aware but does not provide security, so customers exercise caution.
