Last week I stopped at Jos A. Banks expecting to be fitted for a suit like I’ve seen done in movies. This was my first time ever being fitted for a suit and boy did I have quite the bad experience doing so. Upon arrival at the store with my fellow groomsmen, I was surprised that we were not greeted by any of the employees nor was any acknowledgment made that this was a suit fitting for the groomsmen in my brother’s wedding. We continued to stand next to eachother passing the time waiting to be assisted. Finally, an employee proceeds to ask me my waist size and hands me a pair acting as if that’s all I would be needing. Upon checking out, I was not even given a bag to put my pants in. When I asked for one, the associate told me to wait until he was done checking everyone else out. I left the store feeling very underwhelmed and upset that my fellow groomsmen and I spent well over $1,000 dollars for such low quality service. For this being a high end suits and clothing store, my standards were high and I was overall very disappointed. I would not come here to be fitted for my wedding or any special occasion.

If I could rate this business 0 stars I would. The service at this location is hilariously bad. A group of us went there this past weekend, excited for our suit fittings for an upcoming wedding, and when we arrived, no one greeted us. The employees acted annoyed we were even there to begin with (it was 3PM, they close at 9PM). It truly felt like no one knew what they were doing. We were assisted by a man who was clearly socially inept, and would walk away in times when we asked questions. No tape measuring occurred, which is odd because every other customer in the store got measured. It felt very off in the store, no one was friendly. I figured if a group of people were there to spend over $1000 on suits, maybe the staff would be more welcoming; I was wrong. There were times where I half expected John Quinones from “What Would You Do?” to come out from behind a curtain, revealing it was all a prank. I’ve heard great things about this company, but I will never return here again. Don’t waste your time here and please find somewhere else, I’ve had better customer service at a tea party held by a first grader.

My fiance and I were super excited to shop at Jos. A Bank for our wedding. Before the fitting, I called the store to confirm the price of the suits. Nate, the manager, answered the phone. From the start, he was rude, hostile, and unwilling to work with us or answer our questions in a professional manner. He claimed there was no appointment in the system and had no idea who we were or what we wanted, which was odd, as my fiance had scheduled and confirmed the appointment (the number of groomsmen, type of suit, and time) three days prior. After this initial interaction, I did not want to even go to the appointment; however, this was the only place that sold the particular suits we needed for our wedding as well as the fact that we had groomsmen coming from Detroit and Kalamazoo and did not want to reschedule.Upon arrival, no one greeted us nor showed any sort of hospitality. A man simply walked up to us and started handing us suits. I later learned that his name was Kyle - not because he introduced himself, but because of his nametag. Kyle did not explain the process, care to learn why we were even there, or who the groom was. He also never took our measurements, which I found odd. I honestly am unsure if my suit will even fit correctly. When I would ask him questions, Kyle would literally walk away and ignore them.Kyle also kept on referring to a larger groomsman as a “problem”, as he would require a custom suit. He continued to do this in front of the other groomsmen, which did not make the larger groosman feel very comfortable. My groomsmen and I paid a total of $1,800, but it felt like our business was unwanted nor appreciated by the entire Jos. A Bank staff.Overall, the fitting itself was dysfunctional, unorganized, and overall unpleasant. We came to Jos. A Bank with high hopes and we were excited to have a great time, as we assumed we were in good hands. This, sadly, was not the case. When this experience was brought up to the store, they refused to take any sort of action to remedy the situation nor apologize. It is a complete bummer because before this experience, I held Jos. A Bank in high regard. When purchasing a premium product, you expect a certain level of service. Jos. A Bank completely failed to hold up their end of the transaction. I will never shop at Jos. A Bank and will actively discourage others from shopping there as well due to my experience and how Jos. A. Bank chose to handle it after.

My fiancé and I, along with his 5 groomsmen went to the Grand Rapids store this past Saturday to purchase suits for our wedding. And the customer service we received was horrible.I had booked the appointment a month in advance, and then confirmed it 3 days before. The day of the appointment my fiancé had some questions concerning the appointment. He called the store and we spoke with Nate, he was very rude and short with us as soon as the conversation started. He asked for our group number and I told him I had not received a group number. He asked for our information which I gave to him, and proceeded to say he had no record of us, or the appointment in the computer. I asked if he was sure because I had confirmed it 3 days before, and the woman I spoke with then had found it right away, even knew the number of guys trying on suits, and what suits we were trying on. There was a lot of going back and forth and confusion. I felt like Nate was arguing with us. All I wanted to know at this point is if we could come in today, or if we had to reschedule? Finally Nate was like, “oh wait, you’re coming in for a suit fitting appointment, you haven’t bought suits yet? Yeah, we have you down at 3:00pm.” I was frustrated because that’s what we stated at the very beginning of the phone conversation. We could have avoided all of this.We had people driving from Kalamazoo and Detroit to come to this suit fitting. I beat everyone there; upon walking in I was not greeted by anyone and didn’t know where to go. So I just waited in line to state why I was there. Once it was my turn I spoke with a woman and said, “Hi, I’m meeting my fiancé and his groomsmen here for a suit fitting appointment at 3:00pm.” I kid you not, this lady just gave me a blank stare. After what felt like a solid 5 minutes she responded, “yeah”. So I replied back, “Is there a certain part of the store I should wait, or where do I go? She said, “I think Kyle is going to be helping you?” All of a sudden this man, Kyle appeared and simply just waved at me. No hi, hello, I’m Kyle, I’m going to be helping you today. Just a wave and silence. My fiancé and his groomsmen started trickling in. Kyle didn’t seem to know what was going on, so we had to state again why we were there, and what suits we were trying on even though it was already in their records and we had just spoke to Nate on the phone about this.Kyle did tell me that the suits off the rack were slim fit only, and proceeded to tell me that was going to be a problem for one of the groomsmen who is a bigger guy. He kept repeating the words, “I’m just going to be blunt and this is going to be a problem for him.” And making him feel bad about his weight and needing a custom suit.Once the appointment started it was very chaotic. Kyle never introduced himself to everyone or explained how the process was going to work. He never said congrats or asked who the groom was. He just started asking for the guy’s pant sizes. Instead of staying as a group, everyone dispersed, and was in different dressing rooms, and everyone was trying on multiple sizes at once. It was all very confusing. I was worried he wasn’t keeping track of everything correctly. Some of the guys came out asking for advice on fit, but Kyle didn’t help, or say what looked good.If I hadn’t wanted a very specific suit for our wedding, my fiancé and I would have walked out and took our business elsewhere. It wasn’t just Nate and Kyle. All of the employees in the store seemed mute and were not the least bit helpful. Nobody seemed to give a care in the world. It felt as though I was in a simulation to be honest. What was a special day turned out to be a poor experience. Very disappointed with how we were treated after giving them over $1,500 in sales that day. My fiancé and I will never shop at Jos. A Bank again.

I’m not one to leave “reviews” for establishments, but this one takes the cake. I stopped in a few weeks ago to buy a few pairs of dress pants. When I walked in around 7:20PM and started to pick out a few pairs, your employee told me that “I need to try on what I’ve already picked out”. After a little while of shopping around, your employee made it a POINT that the store was closing at 8PM. He proceeded to tell me how “he’s been there since 9” and that “he’s had a long day”. Little does your employee know… I drove two hours to this location ALREADY well aware of the hours. I worked all day and drove to grand rapids, for frankly nothing but a poor experience. I feel very disappointed by the way I was treated, after spending $275 on pants. I wish I could’ve gone to a different location, if there was one local to me. I really hope this review reaches people looking to shop here, would highly suggest spending your money elsewhere.

My fiancé and I had a very disappointing experience. Staff were shockingly rude and largely unhelpful as we attempted to have my fiancé fitted for his wedding suit rental. We called back after having difficulty finding his measurements/preferences online, and were told they had given us the paper with this info on it. When I described exactly where the paper had been kept by staff the day of our visit, the phone attendee cut me off and said it was probably a busy day and the paper had gotten tossed. Other shoppers were friendly and the suits seem of fine quality, but we will not be returning.

I've shopped here for years. Very good quality at affordable prices. Service is exceptional. On my most recent visit, I was in need of something specific to wear that night. They helped me find it and even steamed the shirt for me so it was ready for me to wear. My only wish is that they would expand options for big and tall guys.

My husband's mother passed away suddenly and he needed a new suit for the funeral and dress pants and shirt for the visitation. We went there on Monday, September 11, 2023 and they were AMAZING! I never got the name of the gentleman who helped us, but I am so very grateful to him. He made the shopping experience so effortless and smooth. He made a tailoring rush for the pants and jacket to be done by the time we needed them for the funeral, which was the next day. Thank you so much for the great experience and kindness!! Very professional!

went in looking for a couple new suits for my son and husband. Older lady who was very grumpy and pushy decided to take over and try telling them what they wanted instead of letting me help them. But her suggestions were of no use. We found what we liked on our own. got measured for alterations- which the alterations costs almost $100 EACH suit!!! picked the suits up and my husbands pants look ridiculous. They look like baggy butt clown pants and the hem on my sons pants fell out after 8 weeks and only wearing it a handful of times! Yes, I did reach out to the company and ask about them fixing it for free and was told that there would be additional costs! I definitely will not ever be back! I do not recommend anyone ever going here!

Terrible customer service. Came in the other day wanting to be able to try on different colored suits and tuxes as we are undecided on a color for our wedding in December. All we got done was a size fitting and nothing else. The guy that was helping us just kept sitting down and later as we were leaving I overheard him say that he didn’t have his 12 hour shoes on today- mind you it was 6:30 and the store doesn’t close until 9pm... He also just kept rambling on about how the tall guy in our bridal party needed to come and get fitted before we decided on anything. Rude & lazy. Won’t be coming back!

Stopped in for a minor alteration, tailor offered to do it while we were in town, to avoid a 60 mile trip back or shipping. Shopped their sale rack = 2 shirts marked down from $45 to $10 !! And jacket adjustment done Before we left store!!

Had a fun time shopping with Pam today. We picked out some great stuff and had fun doing it. I was impressed with some of the new stuff…and the prices are great. I’m honestly bummed I spent twice as much on golf shorts somewhere else. The ones I bought today might be the most comfortable shorts I’ve worn. $35. I’m going back tomorrow for more.

Could not ask for more attentive and friendly assistance. Especially loved large selection in clearance section.
