I am a realtor who represented a buyer who came pre-qualified by Huntington. After months of working with the buyer, and making multiple offers, we successfully negotiated a purchase agreement. For the next 2 months the loan originator kept feeding the buyer and myself conflicting information regarding the progress of the loan process, while still making assurances that the loan would ultimately go through, to the point that the closing date had to be extended. A couple of weeks prior to that date my emails got no response, and upon calling her extension the recording stated that it was invalid. I was finally able to make initial contact with an assistant manager who confirmed that she was no longer with the company and put me in touch with a loan originator who was taking over. The most that I was able to get out of him (through VM messages only) was that it didn't look like the loan was going to close, but he would be contacting the head of the mortgage department to see if anything could be done. That was four days ago and my calls (had to leave voicemails) to both the loan originator and the assistant manager stand unreturned. Likewise, the buyer cannot get a call returning her voicemail messages. I subsequently sent the buyer to another lender only to find out that she should never have been issued a prequalification letter to begin with. I am highly dissatisfied with the integrity and professionalism (or lack thereof) of Huntington Bank and would not recommend their services. The buyer is out her inspection fees, the seller has had the home tied up for over 2 months when there was never a chance that the buyer could follow through with the sale, and I wasted countless hours as well.
