“Very clean and nice hotel. Front desk people are very friendly and helpful. No free breakfast, but they do have a restaurant that does breakfast and dinner (till 10:00 on Saturday night). Well decorated and comfortable beds (but a little on the hard side). Parking shared with sports bar restaurant next door.”

“Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay with adjoining rooms. The rooms were spacious, clean with high-end vibes. And the floor to ceiling window view of the city was impressive. Breakfast and staff were wonderful. Location was central to everything downtown. Easy to 5 star this one.”

“Travel here each year for Great Lakers Fruit Growers Conference. Try to make reservations a year in advance but they will not. Made reservations in July requesting rate for conference but upon arrival yesterday the rate was not honored. Instead of a $500 3 day cost they booked the most expensive room in hotel & have a $2,000 bill. Always a mystery when reservations open up..”

“Superb customer service from the time you walk through the door, checkin was very easy (booked online), easy access from the highway, restaurant attached had decent food, i liked the key security with the elevator and you could walk to downtown. The room was nice but very compact, they definitely utilized every space they have and with being so close to the highway the noise level wasn't as quiet as I would have liked (but that was just me my other guest slept fine).Overall had a great experience.Rooms: Nice, small, clean.Nearby activities: A lot of activities downtown that we had easy access to.Food & drinks: Room service, we didn't utilities but was available. You could get drinks and food in the attached restaurant.”

“The JW boasts a great location on the river, just blocks from restaurants, offices and activities downtown. Staff are on their game and set the high bar for service.”

“Nice rooms they were clean.Staff was very nice.Breakfast was good. Plenty of choices. Sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, pastries, muffins, fruits, yogurts, bagels and cream cheese, juices and make your own waffles.Only 2 drawbacks. They were out of milk due to a supplier issue and the location is convenient right off 131 but it is a little farther from downtown than I thought but that was my fault for not double checking map.Overall for the price it is a wonderful hotel.”

“PLEASE bring back the real scrambled eggs. It has been over a year since my last stay here, I was excited to return just because of the restaurant used real scrambled eggs. To my disappointment, that is no longer the case. It is not often to find a hotel that uses real products instead of instant heat and serve foods. I would not mind paying a few extra dollars per night for better quality food, and I'm sure others would agree. The staff is always friendly, and the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Granted, there are some updates and renovations that could be done. I was shocked to see a dryer from the 1980's in the guest laundry room.I still enjoyed my stay despite the little things that could be better.Rooms: Clean, comfortableNearby activities: Restaurants, shopping and activities all within walking distanceSafety: It seems a safe locationWalkability: Lots of everything close byFood & drinks: Could be better”

“Staybridge Suites Grand Rapids: Spacious Suites, Stellar Gym, But One Annoying HiccupWe recently stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Grand Rapids, Michigan with our family of 6 for a debate tournament. While we were primarily out and about for the competition, the hotel provided a comfortable and convenient home base for our busy schedule.Spacious Suites: The two-bedroom suite was fantastic! It offered plenty of space for our family to spread out. We appreciated having two full bathrooms, which helped us get ready quickly in the mornings. Plus, the 1/2 kitchen was perfect for storing snacks and drinks, and came in handy for light meals after long days. The TV was a nice way to unwind in the evenings.Fantastic Gym: A big highlight of our stay was the hotel gym. It was truly the best we've ever seen in a hotel! They had a wide variety of dumbbells, a treadmill, an elliptical, and ample space for floor exercises like jumping jacks. This was a lifesaver for staying active during our busy trip.Good Breakfast & Service: The breakfast was good, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. The service staff were friendly and helpful.Trash Issue: The only real downside to our stay was that housekeeping never came to take out the trash during our entire 4-day stay. This resulted in a rather large and unpleasant trash bag accumulating in the corner of the room.Overall: Despite the trash issue, we had a positive stay at the Staybridge Suites. The spacious suites, fantastic gym, and good breakfasts made it a great choice for our family. However, neglecting trash removal definitely brought down the experience a bit. If housekeeping can be more consistent, this hotel would be an easy five-star recommendation.”

“Very new and one of the larger HIEX plans that a franchisee can build. The room was cl ean and I agree with the 2 that weighed in about the moisture and lack of front desk service. Asked for a suitcase rack for a 2 queen bed room as there is only enough space for one suitcase. The 3 people at the front desk looked at me like I had 2 heads! Had to Google a picture of a folding luggage rack to show them. Also asked for use of a black permanent marker and to have some shave cream. Neither has arrived so far. These front desk people need serious training ASAP!Rooms: Clean”

“I stayed for 1 night and my visit was very comfortable, the room was spotless and served all my needs.I didn't want to spend $$$ since I wasn't planning to be in my room until mid evening. The location was perfect with many dining and shopping options. The full size refrigerator with a freezer and a microwave in the queen bed room was a nice surprise. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating.I live over an hour away so my husband and I plan to return to this property and make a night of it so we can explore more of the dining options and do some holiday shopping.”

“I was surprised at this place. It looks a little small from the outside but definitely a great place to be breakfast is wonderful. It's like one of the biggest things that I've got going on rose aren't too bad. It's off a busy street. There's a Meijers across the gas station. The staff aren't the best way to close the customer service but. They try I wouldn't mind going here again”

“This place was utterly vile.We needed a stay for the night and didn't have many options, so we figured this would be decent because it's a chain and it definitely wasn't cheap. Wrong.First room: long hair on the towels, pubes in the tub, and the bed made a weird booming noise every time you sat down. Apparently they use sheet metal platforms instead of, I don't know, a regular bed? Whatever. We asked for a different room and they allowed us to switch.Second room: smelled like someone smoked in it. The pillows were stacked on the chair for some reason, and the bed only had one thin blanket. The bathroom door was damaged and didn't close all the way. I'm betting it was kicked in at some point. There's barbed wire around the place (???) which tracks. We were too tired to care so we went to sleep. The whole night, some high school or college basketball team was talking in the hallway and slamming doors. We asked them to keep it down, no dice. When we called the front desk about it, all she did was very weakly ask them to stay in their rooms. Not even, "hey it's 2 in the morning and you're being way too loud".Next morning I noticed a pile of ash next to the bed. Not only did someone smoke in the room, housekeeping didn't even clean it up. I brought it up to the guy at the front desk and all he had to say was that they were short staffed. We didn't stick around for breakfast. If we couldn't trust them to clean a room properly we weren't going to trust their food either.Absolutely do not come here. It's filthy and they don't care that it's filthy.Rooms: Very dirty, not very well keptSafety: There were random people walking around the parking lot. The whole place has a barbed wire fence around it.”

“Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be from reading all the reviews it was a little dirty, smelled a bunch of weed tho but it wasn't as bad and I didn't rlly hear anything besides somebody next door doing stuff but that's abt it bed was pretty comfy got some good sleep tbh service was great but anyways that all it's not all bad besides the fact they need to sweep the carpets in the middle of the beds and kinda mop the floors to and change the sheets cause there was some stains on them but over all it was okay.”

“We stayed one night at this hotel. The room was nice and we had no real problems with our stay. The only complaint I have is that it took a long time for the water to get hot. Not just a few minutes, more like 7 minutes. It was very hot when it did warm up though and water pressure was good. The weather was very snowy so satellite was not working. We did not use pool or workout area but both looked to be in good condition. Others were using pool. Breakfast was good. Had a fine continental selection. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Also, I should add that I did get my $100 deposit back within a day.”

“This is now Sheraton. Today they had their Grand Opening as a Sheraton. Let me tell you about this place. First, the staff. Dan, Chef Chewy, and Bailee were amazing bar and kitchen staff. They understand what customer service is. Good customer service can make or break a business!Check-in was easy and the staff were very polite. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Two minor issues were that I didn't have a microwave and the bathroom lighting sucked. Otherwise it was a perfect room.Love that there is an on-site bar, tiki bar, clean pool and hot tub, conference rooms, outdoor fire pit and courtyard, and 24 hour room service.I traveled for work and will return!”

“When I book a cheapo hotel room, I'm looking for a place to shower and sleep, and this place did both for me very well.THE GOOD:- the front desk was pleasant in all encounters- no weird smells- no visible mold/stains on bathroom fixtures- bed felt and smelt clean- fresh roll of toilet paper- fridge was clean and cold- AC was crisp and cold- outlets near bed worked to charge my phone- I tore apart my bedding in search of bedbug residue and saw ZERO EVIDENCE in my room of those pesky jerksTHE BAD:- pillows were flat- front desk had no more pillows to give- blanket was kinda thin, turned off the AC and dealt with itTHE NOTEWORTHY:- there was a cigarette burn in the blanket lol- someone was vaping in the hallway when I checked in- one of the exterior doors near my room didn't work to get back insideThis is a solid hotel. By all means expect a swanky joint or a boutique experience, but it definitely does the job of being a place to shower, sleep, and charge one's phone. Would book again.”
