I visit GRR 2-3x per year and I am always looking for a place better than the last - be it for location, value or cleanliness. On this trip I might have found it! Holiday Inn Express (behind Meier's) is well kept, clean and very quiet! I was there for a week, staying on the 4th floor, and only heard guest noise one evening and it was very minor. All this said, and as clean and comfortable as the room was, the staff could use a brush-up on courtesy and attentiveness as I found over half of my interactions a bother to the employees, and trust me, I'm not hard to please. Great value if you're there for an extended stay!Rooms: Clean and modern

I love this hotel, clean comfortable rooms, however something has changed. NO bottled water on property, that's unacceptable. After traveling all day the last thing you want to do is have to go to the store for basic necessities.

Honestly excellent all around. The staff were very helpful, if you need any thing for snacks you are conveniently located around Meijer and a ton of fast food restaurants. Breakfast was delicious, rooms were clean. Would highly recommend.

CHANGE YOUR BRANDING TO BUSINESS ONLY OF YOU ARE NO LONGER FAMILY FRIENDLY I booked a room for my son's 9th birthday. You remember how back in the day all the aunties and uncles would come and the KIDS would get to play? Or even move? Yeah this is NOT your childhood holiday inn... When I booked, I booked with the three children and their ages. I booked because it said 'kid friendly'. This is not kid friendly. It's a great place to stay if you're an old man on business. You see this is a business hotel, NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY ESTABLISHMENT. These boys were not allowed to WALK IN THE ROOM because there was a higher level guest who was here on business and needed their sleep and if they complained again we were going to have to leave... AT 8:30pm on a FRIDAY NIGHT I was SO EMBARRASSED! Especially after having friends book rooms to join us. This hotel is EMPTY and they put us next to or above or around someone who apparently doesn't understand the difference between a private residence and a GD HOTEL. Like this is the holiday inn not the amway grand.. and honestly I probably would have been better off at the Grand since the girls night I recently attended there we were SO much more ruckus than these little boys. In an empty hotel we were told at 8:30 if they received another complaint we would have to leave... no one could be moved to a different room (in an EMPTY) hotel bc 'they were filling up fast' I am canceling my IHG membership and never booking here again I should have stuck with my Marriott membership but I didn't want to book anything higher end bc I didn't want the boys to be an issue so I opted with '2 star family friendly' I would 100% understand if they were jumping or banging on the walls, but they were not. A little bit of excitement in the lobby when we checked in at 4, and the girl at the front desk told me about all of the complaints they had been receiving while we were away at dinner. I feel bad for the bitter soul who felt the need to complain so much about a child's joy at 4pm and then apparently heard the ghosts of the noises while we were away eating dinner... so much so that the sound of little boys singing happy birthday at 8pm was just too much for them. I wish them a full night of sleep and a good "business meeting" early this Saturday morning.HOLIDAY INN: maybe when they are assigning rooms, DON'T PUT A ROOM WITH 3 YOUNG BOYS BOOKED FOR A BIRTHDAY near 'high level members booked for business'

Here are my reasons for two stars. PLEASE READ ROAD WARRIORS AND FELLOW TRAVELERS.Fellow IHG loyal members. As a Diamond Elite member, I love the feeling that I can count on Holiday inns to let me grab a quick snack and drink from the snack shop (and head straight to my room) instead in of taking the points; after having a long travel day to hold me over until my next meal. WELL, this is not the place for you. They do not offer that option and make you take the points. Front desk said they stopped doing that. It’s good to know that after a long day of travel or work I can have my dinner delivered to my room. WELL, not at this hotel. I spoke with the delivery guy and told him my room number. The front desk lied to me and said the deliverer didn’t know my room number and already left. Plus they said they don’t do that and we have to go down and get it ourself. It’s good to know I have the convenience of breaking my $5 bill to use the quarters to do my wash. WELL, not at this hotel. I was told they are a cashless hotel and refer us to the gas station or Meijer to break it. This hotel is a “Cashless” hotel but make the customers use cash to do wash. Give me a break, most people don’t travel around with a bunch of change. Yeah, that makes no sense.I stay in about 230+ nights/year in IHG hotels and this hotel collectively is inconvenient and does not care about loyal Diamond Elite members. I will never stay at this hotel. Loyal members, do not stay at this hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and have been happy, but not this last time. When we were greeted at the front desk, the associate did not care we were there and was only concentrating on the football game on the TV. Our biggest compliant though, is we had to use 2 different reservations, as one was a free night stay, and we confirmed on the phone when booking and confirmed at check in, that we would not have to move rooms and can stay in this room for the 3 nights. Well.... on our 2nd day we came back to our room that night and have found that our room was cleaned, despite having our do not disturb sign on door, that the bed was made, that my clothes were taken out of the closet and put in my suitcase, that my husbands clothes were put in his suitcase and zippered shut and all our bathroom was moved to different shelves. We were very upset the most about the housekeeper going thru all our things and moving everything. It would have been one thing to just clean it, even if we didn't want that, but to truly go thru all our stuff, that is just unacceptable. We went down to the front desk, and he didn't care and just said to call the manager tomorrow. When we spoke with the manager, she didn't care either much and offered us a few extra bonus points for the inconvenience. She was missing the fact that your housekeeper went thru all our things and we felt very violated! Will not be staying here anymore!!!!!!

My stay was nice and the rooms were well kept and the staff were friendly. My only issue was with check in as the check in was quick and efficient but the staff member taking care of my checkin seamed like he didn’t want to deal do my check in and just rushed it.

We spent a week here and absolutely loved it! Staff were incredibly kind and welcoming the whole time. The room was very clean although it had a few small minor defects you could tell overall that everything seemed new. They had quality soaps and shampoo to use as well as lotion and other amenities. The room has a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. The bed itself was very comfortable as well. The pool was clean and well maintained. It was also walking distance to a grocery store and a few quality restaurants. If we come to this area again, this will absolutely be where we stay.Rooms: Rooms look updated and run efficiently.Nearby activities: Meijers store is within walking distance and has so many things to choose from. You also have a whole bunch of restaurants less than 5 minutes away.

We just spent 2 nights at this hotel and were very pleased with our stay. The desk clerk, whose name I did not note (other than he said he was referred to as the mean one”), was exceptionally helpful and very definitely not mean to us. Additionally, the room was clean quiet and very comfortable, especially the bed. The breakfast was also special, with the person attending the facility displaying a very appreciated warm and helpful demeanor. We come to this area regularly because of family who live in the neighborhood and will definitely stay here when we come againRooms: Clean, quiet and comfortableNoteworthy details: Staff members were warm and accommodating

The hotel itself was clean but the concierge was indifferent and downright rude (male 2nd shift). He doesn't belong in a position dealing with public. The room above us was very noisy. Again, it's clean but on no our next visit we'll go back to the Hilton Garden Inn.Never again for us.

This was not a pleasant hotel experience. The Business office had no working computers or printers. Needed 4 copies printed and front desk was not very open to copying them for me.Had NO kleenex. Asked front desk for a box of tissue and was told there was not any kleenex in the hotel. Asked for a wake up call (clock/alarm not working) and front desk said they would have the next shift put it in as the machine was not working.WHAT???? I travel for work and have never encountered such poor hotel management. Need to be back in this area in two months for work and will not be staying here!!!

My husband and I stayed here during our drive out from Utah and booked this hotel only a few hours before checking in. We paid $120 for the night and we were able to check in really late. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with firm and soft pillow options to choose from. The bathroom was spotless and had plenty of clean towels and Dove products to use. We were able to check out using the TV which was super easy and convenient. Looking forward to staying here again on our next drive out!Food & drinks: The room came with a free breakfast that was pretty good. The hot food was hot, and the cold foods cold. Just what you would usually expect from a free breakfast, above average but nothing special.

Everything was great until I returned from a day out to see my room was NOT cleaned. Housekeeping made no effect; the bed was not even made. I had to go to the front desk to request fresh towels. No face towels available and received pool towels for bath towels. ☹️ If looking forward to getting into a freshly made bed after a long day....look elsewhere!!!!
