From the Heart is a lovely one room Yoga studio with all the fun quirkiness of a converted space, like a pillar or two in the middle of the studio. Lot's of windows. Beautiful wood floor. Everything from the kitchenette, the bathroom to the studio floor are clean and well maintained. But the best part of the studio are the proprietors and teachers ... Behnje and Rick! They are both super generous gentle souls. I am usually there but a weekend each year to attend Desirée Rumbaugh's fall workshop. Behnje and Desirée are very close in a student teacher relationship. Behnje said she applies Desirée's latest teachings starting with each annual workshop. I'd recommend the studio for anyone serious about deepening their yoga practice along the lines of Desirée Rumbaugh!

This is my favorite yoga studio in Grand Rapids. The teaching style here is so engaging and thoughtful. The instructors here spend quality time ensuring that you grow through your practice whether you are just beginning or have years of experience. I highly recommend this place.

Think what makes From The Heart hOMe is how incredible the instruction and community is. The teaching at every class incorporates both universal themes and specific, detailed pose alignment. This has led to a consistent depth of offering that is unique to this location and continues to bring me back to the mat and this place time after time. Wherever you are on the journey, this center cannot be recommend highly enough.

No one in the world teaches yoga quite like Behnje Masson at From the Heart Yoga. If you're a really advanced yogi and you are looking to take your practice to a deeper level, spend 8 weeks in one of her BEGINNING Yoga Classes. If you're brand new to yoga and you want to change your life for the better, spend 8 weeks in one of her BEGINNING yoga classes. I say 8 weeks because it can take some time to learn the language. It's so different. It took me 2 classes to fall in love. Unfortunately, they were about 6 months apart. I regret that I waited so long to try again. That was about 10 years ago! Behnje and Rick have helped me develop my practice and myself. I am healthier and more successful because of their influence! Spend some time at From the Heart :) I'm so grateful to be able to recharge there!

This is a beautiful and serene space with highly trained teachers. You will get clear instruction, a great workout, time to get focused and relaxed, and you will learn yoga in a way that will prevent injury. It is a warm and inviting studio. I can't say enough good things about it.

This heart centered yoga (and Tai Chi ) studio has great integrity in all aspects of yoga: asana, pranayama, and meditation. Attention is paid to alignment so yoga can be a life long practice, both in the studio and into all aspects of your life. The owners regularly bring international teachers to the studio.
