Marta was extraordinarily helpful and educational while helping me find exactly what I was looking for. I left feeling great, comfy and empowered! The quality and variety of the ethical selection was fun to work through - even looking for 'just' a black cardigan to replace several fast fashion pieces that are falling apart. I love the spacious shop and the welcoming atmosphere. I will continue to shop here as needs arise and I learn to live with less ... adding pieces that will last and take care of the earth.

When the weather changed to spring in Michigan, I looked in my closet and knew that I needed a refresh. (Goodbye pre-pandemic styles.) My first stop is always Clothing Matters, because I want to wear comfortable eco-conscious clothing and support a small business. I love styles and comfort, and the staff is always so helpful.

Very welcoming and calming atmosphere. As soon as I walked into the store I was greeted and started talking with Marta, who was very friendly and helped me learn more about the clothing industry and why buying sustainable clothing matters. I bought a pair of black leggings and they are amazing! Super comfortable, not see through, and feel like they will last for a long time. Would recommend visiting this store for sure!!

Clothing Matters is my favorite store. I enjoy shirts, yoga pants, sweatshirts and more. I know the clothes are sustainably made out of quality materials. The best past is the comfort. I feel as if I’m wrapped in a hug when I wear these clothes. Thanks Marta and team for being so conscientious to sell items that nourish our body and soul.

Styles and fabrics are beautiful -- love this place! And I know Marta and her staff research their products thoroughly for sustainability. This means I can rest assured that the fabrics and dyes used in the apparel are safe for the environment and for me, and the people who make the clothing are well paid and work in safe conditions.

This is an amazing sustainable/ethical shop. They have so much more than clothing! I got a beautiful handmade butterfly patch for my bag. I also picked up a handmade shampoo bar (made in Michigan). Of course some items are slightly higher in price. However, it is worth it to know that the products were made with ethical practices. I highly recommend stopping by!

Clothing Matters in Grand Rapids, Mi can be found on Lake drive and Diamond. It's not just women's apparel but has a nice section for men as well with some really great choices. Today I bought 2 shirts and went next door to Global Infusion and came back with 2 Chai teas for the working there today on a really cold blustery day.

I wish I had a location near me! The staff and owner are extremely knowledgeable about retail processes, and the ways shopping for ecofriendly, ethically and sustainably made items makes a difference. There was a much greater variety than I anticipated, and a slightly higher price point than I anticipated - but understandable given that it's locally owned and not one of the larger, more well known eco-friendly companies.

The Clothing Matters pieces I have purchased have been very comfortable. Some of the items are a little pricey, but I have gotten good deals on many and feel like it's worth it to spend a little more on clothing that is made with a better social and environmental conscientiousness.
