Amazing owner; kind, welcoming and incredibly knowledgable! Curation is on point. Best spot to find original albums/records, vintage leather and denim jackets, period pieces, vintage toys, and props! Highly recommend you check it out and enjoy the great vibes and collections

One of my favorite places to hang out and find some cool stuff - TIM is a top notch guy! I miss this place ever since I moved to Chicago! Absolutely visit here, you never know what you're gonna find here and hey, you might make a cool new friend!

Tim is a really nice guy, only bolstered by the testimony of almost all the queers in GR, his ex business partner, and seemingly every weirdo that frequents the Leonard strip. Captain bizarro’s is an apt name, this place is half garbage half treasure and that is what makes it unique and special. No doubt the stuff I consider trash one of you freaks is going to love, so it’s worth a stop just to look at the really cool signage (which Tim did himself). Lots of amazing clothing and even some cool furniture pieces make there way in and out, and the button collection he has are sure unique! To me this is a GR must stop, so much more exciting than the cookie cutter gift shops on Wealthy. I’ve scored lots of awesome 70s clothes from this spot, and some really strange oddities that I’d have to spend hours unearthing from an antique mall. The man has lived many lives which rumors say include professional surfing, menswear clothing retail and scenic art… Tim is a friendly guy who wants to talk, if you don’t understand humans come in many forms you might find that off putting, I personally would recommend growing up before entering if that’s the case! If you want a clean prim and proper store, leave this for us bizarros! It’s better that way 8)

Shockingly bad customer relations. Condescending and rude to a family member of mine. I would not support them or shop at this place.

My fiance and I were in GR for a wedding and decided to stop by Captain Bizzaro's to kill some time, and boy are we glad we did. What a gem this place is. Had a great time chatting with the owner, and walked out with some vintage Star Wars action figures. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in GR. Thanks Tim!

Went for a little thrift adventure and came across this place walking in I thought wow this place is pretty cool. The owner was nice at first walking in, talked pretty nicely I was there looking around looking at books for awhile and then he started venting about how people come in and spend 20 minutes looking at stuff and not buying anything(granted I didn’t buy anything) because of the way he made me feel after I was ready to go. Making comments about my hands in my pockets as if I was stealing or something and trying to make me buy something out of pity I assume. I don’t wish anything bad on him and I know running a business can be hard but do not make acquisitions about you customers if they do not buy anything and are just looking. Don’t think I will be back for a while. I’m a very sensitive person especially when I am accused of something I did not do. So I cried after I got home. I didn’t not appreciate how I was treated after I spent 20 minutes in the store. I don’t normally write reviews but it just made me upset to feel treated that way at a thrift store. Since those are a sanctuary to me. All in all it’s a nice store with cool items some a little bit overpriced in my opinion, I would recommend going with a friend just so don’t feel as sad about the customer service. I feel very bad that I feel the need to write this review. But words and acquisitions hurt. Giving it 2 stars because the store itself is cool. But they way I felt after leaving 0 stars.

I love this place and have been here several times. Every once in awhile I just go back because there’s always either something I missed or new stuff to look at. Super cool friendly owner, I love bringing people here who have never been ?

Great shop where you can find all sorts of treasure. From vintage and antique items to patches, buttons, music in many forms, and so much more!

I love this place. The proprietor was incredibly friendly and helpful. He spoke to my 6 month old and filled my husband and me in on what he's doing to get the place up and running how he wants. And of course there were some real treasures in his store. I found a lovely pillbox hat from the 60s and my husband found a signed copy of a Gladiator VHS.We tried to go back a couple weeks ago but even though the hours were listed as Open, the door was locked and the lights were off. That won't deter us, though. We'll definitely try again!

I was in the shop today and want to commend the owner for the care he has taken to have an awesome and very eclectic inventory to look through and experience. Really took me back. I was unfortunately put off when I was told that he didn't have the time to listen to any more questions I had to ask him so to say my experience was all bad is unfair and I won't do that. I will.say though having had a rather extensive past in customer service myself that no matter the opinion of the customer a shop.and all it's employees should strive to make everyone feel.as if they mean the world to you. I feel like the attitude there was that he just wasn't interested in my business was annoyed by my presence and he seemed to hover around half way through my viewing of the place like he was fearful of me being a threat to the shop for some reason..I want to hope that my next visit would have been more pleasent but after a comment like the one made to me I don't think I will be going back to this shop again and won't recommend it to any future possible patrons I come by..I hope this review will help the shop further it's customer interactions to a positive note in the future and I wish them all the best in their venture. Everyone is allowed a bad day so I only hope I caught this man on one and he isn't normally that rude with someone asking him about how his business is done via a customers stand point..

Came to Grand Rapids on a little getaway road trip with my pup and made Captain Bizarro’s a top stop on my itinerary. And, boy, I was not disappointed! Tim, the shop owner, is a truly gracious and joyful soul and made the visit a memorable one. And his assistant, Ace, was a delight, too. The shop itself is beyond amazing, filled to the brim with amazing collectibles of every kind for the most casual to the most discriminating collector. Captain Bizarro’s Treasure World receives Thrill Of The Hunt’s highest possible recommendation!

Awsome shop ! They have everything that I grew up with. And the Owner and his employee Rawk! I give them 2 hands and a leg up. If you ever needing zombie patches or guns and Rose's patches, or any type of button for that Jean jacket or leather jacket this is the place. Also he has all the mad magazines.
