I would give them 0 stars if I could. They are a complete joke. I don't even have them anymore as of January 1st, thank God, but I'm still fighting with them to pay claims from 1-2 YEARS ago. For a procedure I had to have to remove a cyst on my breast last year, they magically decided to "adjust" the deductible amount for the year so they wouldn't have to pay barely anything out of pocket. For a procedure that cost $1170, I paid $990 out of pocket. Not to mention a $480 walk in visit from TWO YEARS AGO which they flat out refused to pay anything on. I'm still trying to figure that one out, after having to send them the claim form myself for the THIRD time. Do yourself a favor and choose ANY OTHER INSURANCE COMPANY IN THE WORLD besides these people!

It's really great, when and if they pay. More often than not, when a claim is submitted it is declined pending if we have ins anywhere else, well except the policy holder. He has been pretty lucky. I myself had to have surgery, and this required pre-approval.....guess what asr declined to pay... you got it this surgery. As it had been pre-approved and I was given the balance plus deductible owed, I signed on the line to be responsible for the balance. I now owe a bill that is higher than a years worth of my wage. I get this is a "first world" problem, but in all honesty, it is extremely frustrating with the amount that is paid for the policy vs. the ease and coverage gained.

My employer switched to ASR about 5 years ago, and it has been a nightmare. They are happy to collect the money I pay to cover my kids' healthcare, but anytime I have a claim, they automatically deny it. They have denied, because my child's employer (??) should be covering him. He was 12 (and unemployed) at the time. A year later, they denied treatment for a broken ankle, because they determined that it was a workplace injury?? Now my other child has been denied coverage, because they need proof that I am divorced. I am not divorced. I've heard rumblings that my employer is looking at other providers. Can't happen soon enough!

My child's "Routine Immunizations Preventive Care" is 100% covered under our plan. ASR denied the claim to cover it. Cool. I love spending hours on the phone so they can say "Yes we should have covered that."

Our employer switch to ASR recently and it’s been a nightmare. Not only are they not paying for vaccines, they have decided not to pay for medicine I need every two months. And flat out told me in writing “we’ve never approved your medications”. Even though my spouse and I BOTH work for the same employer, both have separate policies, but they’re exactly the same, same medicine but their medications are approved, and mine aren’t?!?! I miss United Healthcare. This company seems like it’s bilking consumers out of money and not providing healthcare coverage they need.

WORST INSURANCE EVER. Greediest, cheapest company I’ve EVER worked with. Most providers are CHRISTIAN based, which is very annoying. Will lie to avoid covering things. I’ve avoided going to the doctors for years because of how terrible this insurance is. I can’t wait until my company switches. I’d be better off with no insurance at all.

Worst insurance ever. Coverage is horrible. So many medications and services are not a covered benefit, no exceptions. As a full time nurse, I would expect more from my insurance. Paying 1400/month out of pocket for a medication I need. I plan on quitting my job to be able to qualify for Medicaid so the medication is 100% covered. Pretty broken system

They cover NOTHING. We pay and our employer pays and there is literally no covered benefits. If I could give a negative star I would.

Worst insurance ever. They denied everything. And you have to call and give them a report on what happened. Then if it denied again you have to give them a hand written statement on what happen you also have to sign it.

Worst insurance I’ve ever had. Tries to deny everything and claims prescriptions are experimental and therefore not covered. I hope to change jobs soon in order to dump this insurance.

I had read reviews before calling to give them the information required for a report of coordination of benefits. Basically they wanted to know if I worked or had the possibility of other insurance besides being on my husband's plan. I've been having seizures that resulted in several claims so I'm assuming they wanted to know what was going on. Either way we called we were helped right away. Gave them the info they wanted and I also needed an mri that will cost 3033 dollars and they will be covering it all. So I'm very happy about that. We have a mercy health plan via ASR through my husband's employer. I wanted to leave this review because I was expecting this interaction to be a nightmare based on other reviews but it was very pleasant. They were quick, helpful, and polite. I'm not invalidating others experiences I just thought folks should know that it's not all bad.

Worst insurance company. Worst staff. Anti customer in attitude and work ethic. Not allowed to talk with a supervisor. Always late paying. Very unprofessional. Never feel sure if what they tell you is true. They like to blame someone else if there's any issue brought up. No resolution. Just another dead end phone call.

We've had this through my husband's work for 6 years and it's some of the best coverage either of us have ever had. Highly recommend.
