Recently moved to the area. Wanted to support a local business so went in thinking they wouldn't have low prices or much selection. They have everything and the same if not cheaper than the big box stores. Love it here.

A fantastic resource for our community. A hardware store that provides support and guidance is a refreshing holdover from the pre-big-box era when service mattered. Alger Hardware & Rental has a decent selection to go with their superior service. And you can even get an ice cream cake on the way out!

When I was in town I was helping my daughter do some repairs around the house. This became my go-to place for needed supplies and tools. I found the staff to be friendly, the store well laid-out and stocked, and the prices reasonable. Over 3 trips there they had what I needed each time. And maybe I am just used to trying to park in San Francisco, but having a large parking lot in the back is a big plus to me.

These guys (and gals) are the bee's knees. They've always given me great personalized service over the year we've lived in the area, but a recent experience caused me to write this endorsement. I pulled up into a close-by spot in the parking lot to unload my snowblower for repair. Before I could get all the bungee cords loose from the hatch on my SUV, an employee came out to ask if I needed help unloading the (heavy) snowblower from my vehicle. Now, THAT is what I call terrific service. I will continue to choose this neighborhood hardware store over the nearby big box stores because of this personalized service. Rock on, Alger Hardware! You folks have "it"!

Brought my mower deck there from my riding lawn mower to get a new blade, I expected to drop off for at least a day, but they quick did it for me while I was there, saving so much time!! I will definitely come back again for future service needs.
