This is a surprising gem to find in the city of Flint. The FIA is truly an amazing oasis filled with stellar exhibits. The entrance fee is quite reasonable. If this museum were bigger its only local rival would be the Detroit Institute of Art. The one thing this place has that Detroit does not is an adjacent section dedicated to blowing glass. I think its worth the drive from the Detroit area to visit and I believe this is the areas newest modern museum.

For Genesee county residents this is FREE at the moment. Come down here and check it out walk around. There's so much to see. I spent 2 hours the first time I was here. Now I'm back to see more.

My first visit ever to FIA but Imma gonna come back! I noticed FIA is located in what appears to be a whole complex of art related centers. Admission and parking are free but there is a box into which you can drop donations. Great displays of Asian, African, Artic Rim art. Great collections of oil painting and sculptures. I loved the display emphasizing Detroit art and it's influences. I learned so much.

Such a nice museum, loved the exhibits which are very inspiring and intricately put together. Visited on a weekend and the entry was free. Moreover they have art school and different programs for engagement of the visitors. The gift shop had very cute things to shop for. The highlight would be their glass exhibit with exceptional masterpieces!

My kids and I have attended the free toddler art classes here. The teachers are so nice and talented. I love that they focus on a different skill every time but let each child express themselves in their own way. We always love the tours around the museum for the “scavenger hunt” We feel so blessed to have this available to us for free!

A gem of an art museum! For a small town, this is an incredible art museum. The variety of exhibits the day we visited, the incredible quality of various sculptures dispersed throughout the building, and even a life glass making demonstration made for a very memorable visit. The standard that this art museum presented was a very pleasant surprise!Definitely worth your visit if you’re around the area and looking for an enriching experience!

This art museum has one of the best glass exhibitions in the country. I like it even better than the Corning museum in New York. They even often have a glass blowing demonstration that is super interesting. The rest of the museum is awesome too. Like most small museums you'll get much more variety than you'll see at the big museums in New York, Detroit, or Chicago. It's also easy to get through before you get exhausted. 2-3 hours is plenty to see the standing collection and spend some time watching them blow glass.

I am BLOWN AWAY at how cool this art museum is. Extensive collections given by people after they pass. I have never seen a better art museum and I cant believe it's in flint! The glass art is my personal favorite. The realistic old guy in the glass haunts my dreams LOL but I take everyone who visits here!
