I turned my embroidery machine there, had tons of issues just getting it sent in for a repair at the middle of may, I was told 7-10 days. I picked up my machine tonight and it wasn’t fixed. Why? Because they lost the part after putting down the wrong address the first time so it was shipped back. Nobody called me to check in with me regarding my machine. I now have to take it to Lansing who will have it done in 7 days because All Sew messed up multiple times resulting in me losing easily $1,000 from orders. We were told that they were waiting for the part when we first asked a month later in June. It’s now July 24th, over 2 months after my machine was brought there. There was no communication, apologies, accountability taken and the owner was very rude over the phone when he was the one who dropped the ball by not putting in the right address, and then losing the part. I heavily want to warn anyone bringing your machine in for a repair because you don’t know if they’re being honest, and if they’ll take two months. I don’t ever leave bad reviews but this situation was ridiculous and the way this business handled it was horrible. When I picked up my machine tonight, the woman who did help me tonight was very helpful though and was the only person who reached out to me to tell me the situation.

DO NOT GO HERE. My elderly mother and I were treated HORRIBLY AND DEMEANED HERE. After waiting MONTHS for repair, I drove 1.5 hours to take my 74 year old mother to pick up her machine. She wanted to upgrade her machine. Right from the minute we walked in, Alfred was condescending and rude to my mother. When she was interested in a certain machine, he told her she “didn’t know what she wanted” and then berated her to me while she was in the bathroom for “not doing her research” before buying a Singer. (They are a Singer certified dealer). When he tried to sell her a different machine that wasn’t marked with a price, he quoted a $699 price WITH a trade in for a brand new machine. I immediately looked online for pricing and every retailer I found had $699 as the list/purchase price. When I showed him this, he told me that I “didn’t understand how business worked” and continued to insult my intelligence. I told him he was being rude and he just continued to tell me I didn’t understand. We immediately walked out and left with all our money. Apparently his understanding of business is driving money out the door. As I write this we are at a sewing shop in Midland where we are spending $850 - because we are being treated with kindness and respect. I am in PR for a major, global Tier One auto supplier so I do, in fact, know how business works and I also know absolutely unnecessary rudeness when I see it. I would NEVER step foot in here again and would advise you not to.

I brought a kenmore sewing machine in for repair. Unfortunately they were unable to repair it. Could not get the parts since the machine was over 65 years old. They did not charge a cent for their time. Most repair places will charge you for their time.

~*I was in the market for a new sewing machine and after much research, I had my sights set on the beautiful minty green Elna Elnita Ef1. The sewing center closest to me isn't an Elna dealer, so I reached out to All Sew in Flint. Shirl answered the phone and was absolutely wonderful--she was super friendly and if there was anything she didn't know, she was willing to look into and call back with an answer. Based on our phone conversation(s), her demeanor, and their price point, I decided to make the 1.5 hour trek on Good Friday to buy (order) my machine. And as an added bonus, they even took my old Viking 6020 in on trade--even though it didn't work!! (Apparently this was because the parts for that machine are hard to come by and my machine had what they needed.) A couple weeks later my new Elnita EF1 arrived, I made the drive back over to Flint to pick it up, and before I left they let me test it out to be sure it was in proper working condition. Shirl was able to demonstrate how to use some of the 'modern' features that the machine has (like an auto thread cutter and a separate motor to wind the bobbin--yes, even while you sew!), and I appreciated that very much. I will admit that they weren't extremely knowledgeable about ALL of the ins-and-outs of this PARTICULAR model, so I am very glad I did my research and spoke with some folks at the huge sewing centers in California and Alabama who have sold multiples of this exact model before I arrived. BUT this lack of knowledge is not necessarily All Sew's fault----there are OODLES of sewing machine models for sale out there, All Sew is a distributor of multiple brands, AND the local sewing machine market is mostly quilters & home seamstresses, NOT folks like me who are looking to buy a HD professional model like the Elnita Ef1. So it's understandable why they didn't know ALL the tiny little details of this particular machine. On the flip side of that, I will say that when others arrived to get help with or purchase a more standard domestic machine, I noticed that Shirl and Al (the manager/owner) seemed to know everything about those machines and were very willing to assist. Bottom line: Do some of your own research before you arrive (just in case you're asking for an oddball model like the Elnita Ef1), work with Shirl (because she's the sweetest and most down-to-earth lady), and make the trek to All Sew to get your machine. I'm definitely glad I did! My new machine sews like a dream, I can now sew through thick layers of interfacing and vinyl without breaking needles, and Bonus!--I get to work with a beautiful minty green machine whilst enjoying my hobby. It's a dream come true!*~

Went to collect my machine today having been told that it should be ready in 10 days. Called on day 11 and was told that I did not count correctly. Five business days = two weeks. Waited the two weeks and two days -nothing. Picked up the unprepared machine today. They wanted to charge me a $35 bench fee for sitting on the shelf waiting for repairs. I thought that was ridiculous. Then they showed me some parts that they "ordered". they were in a ripped bag labeled with a brand that was not my machine. No thank you. Looking for another repair place now. Funny thing is that the repair needed is something they "fixed" a few months ago. While that repair worked, they misaligned the needle which would not move to a center position. Had to take the "repaired machine" back. I give up!

They were not interested in helping me find a belt for a vintage machine. I felt as tho since I wasn't interested in a big ticket item, new machine, they didn't want to deal with me.

Dropped off my machine for a tune up on January 15, 2021. Called several times to check the status. Was told part is on order. Then I was told it hasn't been serviced yet. What's the truth? Ended up picking up my machine. No apology from the staff. I suggest taking pictures of your sewing machine prior to dropping off. My handle seems dirty, greasy and I see a deep scratch on the top that I don't recall being there before.

Purchased a serger and have taken a class at this shop . Others have told me the owner is rude, but I had shopped there several times and never had that experience...until my last visit. The sad part of my experience is that I left thinking, “he actually thinks the tone and manner he used was okay”. Well not with me! Lucky for me I just discovered the Ann Arbor Sewing Center. They have all that is offered there and more, and I get to see my grandchildren who live in Ann Arbor as a bonus.I really wanted to support a local business but customer service is obviously not a priority in this shop.

My Sewing Machine was purchased here. Not Only did I receive just a purchase, but I got a unlimited supply of helpful and Friendly Staff. They are always willing to help guide me if I have a problem or a question with my machine. Thank You to the Staff at All Sew for going above and beyond just the sale.
