First time buying a mattress and what a great experience it was. Paige helped me, answering all the questions I had and also answering those I didn't know to ask. The process was worry free and the delivery was super quick. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Their service is terrible, and they don’t honor their contracts. I feel powerless and stuck with a mattress I hate. They sell you a dream and leave you hanging when you aren’t satisfied. Avoid this mattress store and their lies at all costs.

I got scammed by American Mattress. They sold me a very expensive mattress with a promise that I could exchange it within a year for $250 if I wasn't happy. This was the only reason I bought it. Once I got the mattress home and hated it, they refused to honor the deal. The contract meant nothing, and the salesperson disappeared.
I called multiple times, and they kept giving excuses, but never resolved anything. The higher up store manager gave the excuse that I should never have been given this promise, but it was in the contract. This store is full of liars and cheats. They make big promises to get your money, then leave you stuck. Avoid them like the plague. They can't be trusted.

My husband an I recently purchased a mattress set from American Mattress the young lady named Paige that helped us with any questions we needed answered. She went above an beyond so we could have a good experience shopping an purchasing a quality mattress. I would definitely be a return customer if an when I need another mattress.

Scott was an incredibly patient and helpful guide on 8/19/24 at Ferndale store on Woodward. Really appreciated his expertise and guidance.
Then on 8/20, I returned to ask a few more questions and Ron the manager took it to yet another level of guidance and expertise. Thank you so much to both of you for everything and I am SO stoked for Monday when I’ll be receiving a new Temper-Pedic mattress in my Ferndale home!!

I love my new bed from American Mattress! We visited the Ferndale location three times before making a decision. The salespeople were very friendly, informative, and patient. We never felt pressure to buy and were able to take our time choosing. Happy to support a local brick and mortar family business over a faceless internet company. Highly recommend!

I felt listened to, and I was given the space and time to make a good decision. The salesperson (Ron) seemed to be genuinely trying to help find me a good fit of a mattress instead of trying to hard sell me something. Delivery went smoothly on Saturday also.

Stopped in because I’ve been in need of a new mattress BAD!! I was going to just buy one online, but figured it’d be best to try out some in person first. Aaron was patient and helpful in steering me in the right direction of what might be best for me. I decided on the Scott’s Living Essex mattress in the firm option. Ron, the store manager, made me aware of what to expect the first month or so of sleeping on the new mattress, and told me about their exchange policy if any problems occurred. I will update the review once the mattress has been shipped out, and again once I’ve been able to get some use out of it. Super easy and painless process, and they have great deals, too. Thanks!
