I never got to see if they were interested in maybe purchasing some of my books because I could not find a parking space within walking distance, since I have had surgery on both of my legs and all of the construction taking place on Woodward Ave. I cannot walk for long distances while carrying milk crates filled with books! Not at 63, I won't. I've had heart failure once, so I don't intend on going through it again by doing something I don't need to be doing.I know that the construction is not your fault. C'mon, I know better than that and if you or someone else thinks that the two stars, somehow means that I am thinking of you in a negative way, surely hasn't understood anything about what I said about the situation I am in health wise in conjunction with the roadwork taking place outside of your business. Using a mechanical device to convey a message is tricky since emotional content is omitted from the conversation being expressed between parties. I was merely explaining facts of what I have to face on a daily basis. I'm sure that you run a fantastic business, but I could not access it at that time. But I will return, because I am trying to part with items which I can no longer use at my age, plus I have too many debts after spending Almost All of 2023 fighting and now, SURVIVING CANCER!! So I have a few boxes of books that can still add some knowledge to someone else who is interested in them.

Great selection of antiquarian books! The lady at the front desk was very helpful and nice. Most of the antiquarian books were cheap, too. Some were in bad condition, but mostly good. Would definitely recommend!

Thoughtfully curated collection of used books. Organized and interesting, a really delightful smaller satellite to the many floored John K. King downtown.

Love this book store. It’s just a smaller version of their location in Detroit. Our whole family just loves the John K. King Books stores. We visit them every year when we come to Michigan, it’s a must for us!! The gentleman working that day was very friendly & knowledgeable bout the store. Thanks for a great experience while shopping.

Love a good used bookstore and the Ferndale location does not disappoint. I was able to find a book written by a Roman Emperor in 2 AD!

This place is great. While there ought to be places like it everywhere you go there just aren't and the number of such old school used bookstores seems to shrink with each passing round of Amazon dividends. Death to Amazon. Long like the (John) Kings! As a sampler of today's haul, I found histories of Mediaeval Turkestan and the Balkans the likes of which Ive been hunting for almost 20 years while the teen intellectuals brought home hardbound Tolstoys, Hawthornes and a bunch of National Geographics. Hardbound heaven.
