This is the worst banking experience I have ever had. I have a personal checking and I’m joint over my dependent child who receives Social Security benefits. I deposit a tax refund in my personal account and it’s a 24 hour hold on it. I check the following morning they have done a second deposit of the same check in my dependents account making her account overdrawn. I’m just trying to understand how you deposit a single check into two separate accounts? How does this teller even still have her job? Then I was told I need to return to the branch with my receipt and show the teller so a correction can be done. This is not an error on my part, why do I have to go back in the branch? I’m sure her draw came up short considering there is a missing check!! Worst bank ever!!!

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD! This is the most ridiculous banking experience I have ever had. I opened a checking and savings account when I started a new job and on the day of my first check I check my account and they've suspended my debit card. So I call and they cannot give me any reason other than that they're "closing" my account. WHY?! They couldn't tell me why they're closing the account just that I have to wait 10 business days for some letter explaining. So then I ask ok, well I can see my check deposited into the checking account how can I get my money out without the debit card? I'm then told that I have to wait an additional day for the deposit to post to my account and that it's possible the check will not even post to the account it will bounce back to my employer. But I won't know what's going to happen until between midnight and 7am on Saturday. WHAT?! I can't even call my employer at that point until Monday. But if it does magically post how do I get the money out? You can go to a branch. On a Saturday? Are you effing serious? TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

today I went to my branch that I have been with since about 1988. I went to cash a $120.00 IRS from a dead family member, MY NAME WAS ON THE CHECK. after about 25 minutes of the teller listening to the manager who told him no that for her to let him cash the check I had to open an estate account and then after 90 days I could get the $120.00. he proceeded to tell me, the teller was very polite and I could tell he felt bad, what the manager said. well, I will be closing that account and going somewhere that they value their customers. good luck other customer make sure if a dead relative leaves you a check ask them to give it to you while their alive cause Huntington won't cash it even if your name is on it.

They cleared up homeowners mistake that could have cost me my house, that why over 20 years member. No circle phone tag. I'm 73 years old veteran and was treated with respect. This post is real, seniors don't usually good news when a letter out of the blue comes from the bank. Remember we are all in this together.

Can I get your opinion on something? Am I crazy and just making excuses or is this a bad business practice by Huntington National Bank? You tell me. Here' s the events as they took place. - I recently completed my second loan with Huntington National Bank, or thought I had, having my payments all set up for EFT. - A few days ago, I noticed on my credit score the final payment was showing as unpaid and over 90 days late. I noticed because it significantly impacted my credit score. - I contacted Huntington National Bank and they said they changed the final payment method from EFT to requiring a call in payment. - They indicated they notified me by mail. No attempt was made to contact me through email, phone, or text to let me know about this change. They indicated I can't expect them to contact every person they have a loan with that they are changing the last payment. I believe they actually can and should, considering phone calls, texts, and emails are automated. - In October I called Huntington National Bank and inquired about the final payment and nothing was mentioned about this coming off of EFT. - I was more than willing to make the final payment. Huntington National Bank was willing to waive the late fee on the payment I didn't know about. (For irony, when I made the final payment on the phone, they said they could only do it through the same bank checking as my EFT payments came out). - Huntington National bank has made the stance that they are unwilling to change the credit reporting because this was my error in that they notified me of the change and the payment was in fact late. My stance is that a single mailer is not a valid attempt to contact me, and expecting me to be familiar with their bureaucracy is not a reasonable expectation. Technically it is my fault. But I think they set it up to be that way. - They claim the reason is because they don't know what the final payment will be, but this is not a normal business practice in my opinion. I'm going to get a bit conspiratorial here, but it's entirely possible they just have a stupid business practice. But I'm a cynic, and corporate business practices I've seen in the past tend to support my cynicism. I think they deliberately sabotage final payments so they can significantly raise interest rates on future auto loans, knowing most people will get loans through the same bank they did business with last, and people are ok with paying the higher interest rates because after all, this was their fault.

I opened an account because they had branches close to me. Within a month, they closed all the branches that were close to me. They have no ATMs other than at the branches, which is the whole point of ATMs to begin with, and you get charged to use other ATMs. Most banks only charge you to use other ATMs when they have a lot of them you can go to. Huntington's seem to only be at the branches. I was excited when they came out with the 'Standby Cash', which you could borrow at any time without any bearing or effect on your credit score. Then they changed their TOS, linking it to your credit score. Then they started lowering the amount you could use, based on your account balance averages, which is absurd because if you have the money in your account that they require for you to borrow the full amount, you wouldn't need to use the Standby Cash option in the first place. NOW they changed it again, charging a 5% "cash advance' fee to use it. This bank is NOT a community friendly bank. Bidenomics has made it hard for everyone to carry a good balance in your account at all times and most people are living check to check. It appears that this bank doesn't consider the fact that our economy is in the toilet and while I do understand the need to protect your assets, they are applying their ridiculous policies to people who are in good standing. I have never had an overdraft or missed any payments back to Standby Cash the times I have used it. There is no good reason to punish the people who haven't been a risk to their bottom line. They could have simply charged a 5% interest, so that people who made their payments on time wouldn't be affected. That way, the only people penalized would be the people who weren't living up to their part of the deal. On that note, it is amazing that I have never had an overdraft or missed a payment, because their online banking website is a piece of crap. You can't keep track of transactions because their system bounces them all around, so you can never see your transactions in the order they were enacted. You can't rely on the website for accurate transaction dates. I have never used online banking at any other bank that doesn't display your transactions in order, have detailed info about those transactions and the dates they were made. I don't use checks, so I don't have a register to keep track. I shouldn't need one, if my bank has an adequate website to use for your accounting. Anyway, the 5% "cash advance" fee was the final straw for me. NOT because I use Standby Cash that often, but because I cannot stand any business that changes their TOS as frequently as Huntington Bank has done. It screams of predatory business practices. They have changed their TOS for Standby Cash 3 times this year and not ONCE were any of those changes in favor of the customer. There are a lot of other cash advance options out there, your bank shouldn't add new fees to a program THEY offered to people as a "perk". You can get a cash advance from Zayzoon and they only charge a flat rate of $5 per transaction, no matter how much you take. I can get an advance of $500/day and it only costs me $5 when they deduct it from my check.

Horrible financial institution. They lie to you and gaslight you. They erroneously drafted three months of car payments from my credit union account amounting to $1008.90. When I pointed out their error all they tell me was, "We'll mail you a check". Well, that was over 3 weeks ago and still no check. Called them repeatedly, spending hours on the phone, all I got was more gaslighting and the old, "The check is in the mail excuse". They can certainly electronically draft money out of any account, but for some reason they cannot refund electronically. They asked for a screenshot of my credit union account to be emailed. First excuse...they never received my email. Accused me of misspelling "Research". Customer service asked me, "How do you spell "research". Well, I haven't had a spelling test since many years prior to earning my Masters degree in English, but okay... They are unprofessional, unethical and my advice is find yourself another banking institution other than Huntington National Bank.

I wish I could give this bank 0 stars because it does not deserve any! Literally worst bank ever. Deposits take forever to become available, they say they have overdraft, but they don't. Cancelling my checking and savings account immediately. I do not trust them with my money.

This bank has NO pricacy, I stood ready to deposit 2k and was asked?'s; the last time I was there it took 30 minutes with a disabled old man clearly parked in"Handicapped" with his old Seville Cadilliac and learned from over-hearing that the old man had over 48K in Savings; his aide or daughter were waiting in line so long, that they had to give the old man a chair! A Banker would have been good, but NO! Today, this jerk Michael Hayes/Teller at the Dort Hwy, Flint , MI Branch was entirely rude by questiong a deposit amongst other customers-when I responded about "confidentiality" he acted like he never heard the word and cussed me to the door-This bank is from HELL! Removing my $ next!

I have been with Huntington for years and am changing banks. They flag purchases for nearly everything I do. Then when calling customer services to "fix" it they want me to jump through all kinds of hoops. This "flagging" seems to be more about controlling purchases rather than protecting from fraud.
