Horrible customer service, the manager is incompetent, which explains it all. I recommend you go to another location or another store because your glasses will arrive crocked, scratched, and/or with a “scrambled” film melted on it. Check your glasses before you leave!!! I’ve worn glasses for 34 years and this is the worst location I’ve ever been to. RUN!

I came in 2 weeks ago for just an eye exam and had the best experience thanks to Monai she was pleasant and quick to meet my need the visit started of rocky but everything went very smooth and the rest of the staff was quick and efficient as well would most def come back

Got me an appointment same day right after work. AND MONAE WAS AMAZING!!!! SHES THE BEST!! COULDNT HAVE GOTTEN MY DEAL WITHOUT HER!!!

The staff was nice, but the facility in general was not clean. I had to ask both the pre-screener and the doctor to clean the equipment before I placed my face on the machine. For pre-screening they only had one (1) pair, and I mean one (1) pair of glasses for ALL patients. I work in healthcare and fine that to be quite unsanitary, and just nasty. I probably will not be returning to that particular facility I usually go to the American’s Best in Royal Oak.

I went in on December 15, they were polite and the doctor seemed thorough. I went in for contact lenses. The doctor examined me and asked me if I had enough contact lenses to last because I was going to try some new contacts and it would take about a week For the trial contacts to come in. One week later NOTHING I had to call and Tammy tells me it might take a couple of weeks!! Then she claimed she didn’t say that yes I was raising my voice because at this point I was angry she abruptly put me on hold with out letting me know and a manager came on the phone and tried to solve the issue. She stated there were supposed to be delivered yesterday and was running late. I know that’s out of their control, but wouldn’t it have been better if Tammy would’ve investigated that. Americas Best you need to do better I used to go to the Royal Oak store when my contacts were delivered, they never let me know now I’m going to the Ferndale store and now, this! This is my last time using America’s best I will never go back there!

I visited the Ferndale store on December 15th 2023 everyone was very courteous and polite. I saw the Doctor and he gave me my eye examination in a very professional and timely manner.After my eye examination, the Doctor took me out to look at the many different styles of frames. I chose two beautiful pair of frames, and the receptionist told me my glasses would be back in two weeks. To my surprise the receptionist called me on December 21st and said my glasses were ready. I picked my glasses up today December 22nd, and I am very pleased with America's Best on 8 mile in Ferndale. Thank you for your great service. Sincerely, Angelo Knowles.

10/ 10 recommend ! I made an appointment at this location. The process was very easy. They kept me up-to-date with the appointment and also offer earlier options when they became available. The front desk staff (NeNe, Tasha, Monae and Sharon) were very pleasant. The doctor(Dr. Smith )was very direct. Explained everything in detail and my glasses & contacts look/ feel great. At the checkout , I believe her name was Stephanie was super nice and made the experience super easy, Totally awesome thank you guys I appreciate you.

The eye care may be good, but the reception work certainly isn’t. I made an appointment after confirming with both my insurance and the location that they take my insurance (envision contracted through ambetter), but when I came to my appointment they refused to take my insurance and cancelled my appointment. They kindly explained that they do not take ambetter, but they would not listen that my vision insurance is through envision, as is stated on my insurance card. They said they had never heard of this provider and refused to look into it. After they cancelled my appointment, I called envision, and they confirmed that my plan does cover care at this location. I will not be returning to sort things out at this location, as I do not trust my eye health with an establishment that is unwilling to listen to patients or support their staff via better information.

I had a great experience today at the Ferndale location. The staff were all very accommodating and professional. I was nervous about having a new insurance and wasn't sure exactly how my benefits would work but staff member Sharon really took time with me and explained my benefits. Thanks again!

I would just like to share that my experience at America's Best has not always been good over the years.... But my last visit at the 8 Mile Ferndale mi. location was really great.... A shout out to Sharon and Tammy for their professionalism and courteous interaction with me ?A lot of times businesses have employees that should not interact with the public, but these two ladies our breath of fresh air to interact with....... PS they need a raise.... thanks jeff

It took an hour and a half just to get my eyes examined and the prescription printed. They gave me my receipt and prescription in an envelope and when I got home and looked at the information in the envelope, I realized they gave me the wrong person’s prescription. I called them and told them and they said I would have to come back in to get the right prescription printed. Would only recommend going if you have infinite amount of time on your hands.

Tammy at the Ferndale, MI location was very helpful correcting an discrepancy in the prescription. The prescription was handwritten and one number was off. She is professional and courteous and helped us resolve the issue swiftly.It looks like many people in comments have had their prescriptions messed up. I would recommend printing out the prescription to prevent future issues. Thank you!

Had a mid experience. Came here to get contacts after having gone to a different AB location less than 6 months ago which gave me an incorrect prescription for my right eye. The contact issue was resolved well, and the eye doctor did well and was quick.However I also brought my glasses in and they refused to help me fix them, saying they aren't an AB brand, and that the district manager was there so they'd better not do that. The other location had no problem with this. Inconsistent.My already damaged glasses were also used to read the prescription on them and returned to me filthy with fingerprints and in even worse condition scratched up and bent. It wouldn't be a struggle to read if someone spent 5 minutes to repair them. Strange contradictory process. Seems like the district manager would prefer people receive help, not broken property and excuses.Unprofessional and strange.Will most likely be switching to another carrier.
