I'm very impressed with the care Don puts into his dogs and breeding. It's really obvious how much he cares. The little girl I purchased from him is growing quickly and is incredibly smart and learning fast. I'd definitely recommend PBGS to anyone looking for a German Shepherd.

This is our first puppy as a family and we could not be happier with our selection. The whole process was easy from sending the deposit, visiting the puppies at 6 weeks to picking up at 8 weeks. Our girl seems to be healthy and robust and has adapted well to our family life. Don sent regular updates from birth to pick up which were much appreciated. If you want a shepherd, we would highly recommend.

we are very happy with our puppy and working with Don. He was always quick to respond to questions and kept us up to date with pictures and the puppies milestones. our puppy was well adjusted and social when we picked him up...you could tell they were loved and well taken care of definitely would recommend getting a puppy from Don

I got a black German Shepherd puppy I named Àtina. I picked her up at 8 weeks and she seems to be a very smart dog. She learns really quick and is a very good energy. I've owned German Shepherds since the seventies and I think Àtina is going to be one of my top dogs. Already house broke. Don was very helpful, kept me informed on the puppies progress. He also sent photos and some videos as the puppies progressed. I'm extremely happy with how the whole transaction took place. Pure black German Shepherds of heartland are all high quality dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and get another one.

Adopted an all white male in the latest litter from March 2023. He is the best behaved puppy I have had. Very laid back and chill. The adoption process with Don was easy and would definitely recommend him to others.

We bought a black Shepherd from Don and she is beautiful and healthy. I know Don has been doing this for a long time and sells nothing but the best. We are so happy to have this beautiful girl in our family.

Between my family and I, we have gotten 4 dogs from Don and all have been amazing. The process of deposits, meeting up to meet the puppies, and picking them out was easy and comfortable. Don is very open and transparent of his breeding process, great knowledge of the Shepherds and gives honest advice when asked.I have stayed in contact with Don over the last 8 years, sharing picture updates and experiences. He has even welcomed us to bringing our dogs back for a visit.If you know the Shepherd breed and are looking for a trustworthy breeder, I highly recommend!

We received our German Shepherd pup, Storm, in April 2020. We named him after his grandfather dog, Storm!He has been the best addition to our family. He has the best temperament and was fast learner to be obedient. He gets along well with other dogs (we were sure to socialize him from a young age) and is accepting of people of all ages. We have 2 young children whom he adores and protects with his gentle heart.There are endless good things we can say about the breed and bloodline from Don’s litters!

If i could give 10 stars I would, I got my puppy 9 months ago and could not be happier, he is such a beautiful,loving and playful pup. Great dog for a great price, Don was awesome he kept up with communication and guided me to do all the steps. You will not be disappointed when buying one of his puppies!! Only guy I will go to for a German shepherd.

We received our puppy on March 9th 2022. She is such a good dog, friendly and beautiful colorings. Breeder was very knowledgeable and friendly. Kept in contact with us and parents we on site.

We got Cain in 2015 and Caia in 2017. Don was great to work with and we loved that we were able to come out and meet him and his dogs prior to putting our deposits down. Ad well as coming out a couple weeks prior to picking Cain and Caia out so we could see and visit the puppies. It really helped us to be able to spend some time with the puppies to understand their different personalities before picking our furrbabies. Highly recommend! Pure black German Shepherd’s have the finest high-quality shepherds around. I personally on one of his dogs and they are healthy happy. Will definitely be purchasing more dogs in the future from pure black.

My wife and I absolutely ADORE our two shepherds. Don is a pleasure to work with. We were emailed weekly picture updates of the puppies and he is quick to address our questions through the process. We got to visit the puppies before pickup and was able to see the Mom & Dad. The pup's health and well being were always a priority. Don's dogs are fully AKC registered, DM tested and hip certified. Don offers other colors as well. Our two are all black ("Beretta", from Mina & Storm) and all white ("Torvi", from Soka & Rebel). Photos attached. We highly recommend Pure Black German Shepherds for your future family addition!
