Old World refinishing does really nice work and it is a fine business....but....but....in my opinion, they are very expensive.

I managed to get a large rust stain (it was almost black) on my large teak coffee table (36x36"). I sent owner Steve a photo and he gave an estimate that was I was willing to pay. He honestly expressed some doubt about whether he could completely remove the stain but assured me it would be nearly completely gone. Two 1/2 weeks later the table was ready for pickup. I was flabbergasted: no trace of the stain remained and the top surface was perfectly smooth and exactly matched to the sides (a trick because the top got more sun than the sides and was a slightly different shade). Steve said he used techniques to remove the stain that he hadn't used in 20 years! I definitely recommend OWR: reasonable price for the amount of work involved; delivery of finished table was sooner than estimated. Examples of OWR's other projects in the shop showed similar results.

Old World Refinishing just restored an old piano bench that had been in very bad condition: the bottom of the music storage compartment was bowed and sagging, and the bench surface had been painted over and gouged in many places. It now looks great! The work was completed on time (actually earlier than I had been quoted) and was reasonably priced for the amount of labor involved. Would highly recommend.

My email request for a quote, along with pictures as requested by their site was met with abrupt responses. Not a very positive first impression and felt like they did not want my business. I am looking into other restoration services and have already received much friendlier responses. Once I determine if I will get a quality result from another service, I will give them my business and happily pay more for it! Amazed they were rated top on Angie's list??

I was researching companies near me that does wood refurbishing. I came across this website and read all the great reviews posted on their behalf. After reading almost the entire feedback section and seeing my furniture was nowhere near as bad as others,I took pictures of my furniture and sent them in. Well a couple days later I open my email to see they responded. It read...sorry I will have to decline your business. Shocked and confused I wrote back why. Is it your backed up? Too much/little of a job? No answer. No response and yes it was read. So for that...1 star wishing I could give none.

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! After a flood damaged our rosewood coffee table we decided to have it refinished rather than replace it. It was practically destroyed from all of the water that poured on it. Old World did an AMAZING job. It looks like it just came from the store.
We also had our rosewood hutch damaged (not water, moving damage) and took it at the same time. Steven and crew were able to fix the damage, as well as sun damage from years of sun exposure. It also looks like it just came off the truck 20+ years ago.
We were quoted 2-3 weeks, and both were done before!
When the movers that the store arranged brought back both items, we sent our 100+ year old cedar chest for refinishing as well!!!
You can’t put a price on excellent work!

We had a children's rocker (a family heirloom) that was damaged during a flood at our home. The seat had cracked and the rockers/legs had come apart. Steve took a look and gave me my options. I was not optimistic, given the condition of the chair and other estimates that I had received. Old World was able work a miracle and the chair has never looked better. Excellent work!

Our email request for quote (as instructed by their site) was answered in a rude, condescending manner insulting our inquiry and our furniture. If I can't trust you with courtesy, I'm sure as hell not going to trust you with my furniture. And, this goes for ANY business owner/operator. No thanks.

I took my childhood Hitchcock rocking chair to old world, and what a beautiful job!! The seat had a stain& wear, and now it is perfect!! I had the chair totally refinished& stained. My grandbaby used the chair also!! That was done over 20 years ago!! The chair still looks new!! Not cheap, but the best around!! Now it will be my breakfast nook table, thanks again for your great work!!

It seems as though the furniture you buy in the store nowadays just isn't made as well as it used to be.... so I bought a set of old solid wood tables second-hand. I saved a fair bit of money on my second-hand find that was well invested in professional refinishing! I'm pretty frugal and the refinishing cost was not cheap, but the outcome was spectacular and now I have professional quality, solid furniture pieces for my home. Had I tried to buy anything of this quality brand new, I'm sure the price would have exceeded my total costs. I've dropped off another project since then and will keep going back!
