Dr. Vala, the assistants and team here at VCA Farmington Hills are nothing short of miracle workers. I have always loved VCA as a company, but I hold a special place for everyone here in Farmington Hills. I am always greeted with the upmost respect and care for myself and my dog, Tucker. I always love coming here, but after today’s visit with Dr. Vala, I needed to make sure everyone knows the level of care and compassion she has for YOU and your pet. I am beyond grateful to have her as Tucker’s vet, and I encourage everyone to have their pet seen by her. Thank you Dr. Vala!!

We have been going here for years and this is the first time where the experience was subpar. The doctor barely looked at our dog and had determined that she had an allergy.I explained that our dog has seen an allergist and it was determined it is not a food allergy. She insisted it was. As we were talking the assistant came in and started talking over us and was explaining what medicine was going to be given and then started telling me about cost and asking me to sign papers even though the appointment was still in progress.Even though no real exam was given we were charged.I am glad we got some medicine for her but I will definitely be taking our dog to the allergist we’ve seen in the past because they are through and take the time to listen and not just make assumptions.

Very friendly staff. I feel the prices are outrageous is only complaint. Not confident in diagnosis given for issues we are having with our elderly cat.

Very kind place to take my 2 babies (cats) to. We made an appointment for one baby, then morning of, the other baby was sneezing too so we brought them both in and asked if there was any way they could check them both out. This place was nice and accommodated us and looked them both over. They needed a round of injected antibiotics and I paid $160 ish ($80 per cat, plus tax). Not sure if the price point matched other places, but I felt comfy and happy with the care the girls received.

Very nice staff. They took good care of my cat Frank and recommended a good course of action to help with his urinary issues.

Dr. Vala is amazing as are all of the staff I've encountered. Jacinta who works the front is always quick and kind. I moved and still travel to take my dogs here.

I brought in my 7 pound cava pooh. I was worried about him being over vaccinated. I voiced my opinion about that prior to our dogs overdose. I clearly explained that Baxter is only 7 pounds and that he should not have so many vaccines administered at once. He was late on a few. His medical records reflected that he had had reactions in the past to vaccinations as a pup. This is the only vet I have brought Baxter to. They were aware of reactions? Within 3-5 minutes of leaving the office Baxter started vomiting & collapsed in his carseat, (tongue white & hanging from the his mouth) My dog went into shock on the way home. I had NO CHOICE but to bring him back immediately. He spent the remainder of the day at the VCA. I warned them & they still insisted. When I asked to speak with the office manager about the situation (Lisa) she was very dismissive and cold. Baxter was a patient @ the Farmington Hills location (Orchard Lake Rd & 13) his whole life! Baxter is such a good dog, so sweet and my family’s therapy. Lisa, the office manager made it very clear that I should not be expecting any type of refund. Lisa was so cold. How about a little compassion than Lisa? I demonstrated so much patience with this clinic the day of the situation. Our beloved pet could have died? This was a preventable situation. Listen to pet owners! Show compassion. Enjoy the almost 400.00 charged to me that day. Besides the hundreds of dollars in the past. You will never get another penny from me again. Baxter deserved better. We didn’t even receive a follow up. Call to make sure that he was recovering at home as well. Moving on. Get a new office manager. She actually lost your practice thousands in the long run. Horrible person. Period. Thank goodness Baxter made a full recovery.

I'm new to the area and had VCA before. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My roommate is older and quite strong (100 lbs). Prices are definitely higher than I'm used to and I'm using the plan.Edit (September 2023). I wanted to expand on my earlier review and share an update. VCA was a great option for me and my older pet. He was a senior dog. Over the two years+ that we received services from the facility, the care plan definitely helped to keep the cost down. Even if you don't have pet insurance get the care plan.Unfortunately my buddy passed away and the staff was very compassionate, the final options and prices were reasonable and they were very honest with me about his health. I am eternally grateful for their superior level of service and upgraded my initial review from 4 to 5 stars

The team at VCA in Farmington went out of their way to help me with an international pet visa. I will never use anyone else.

The young blonde vet is great at her job. She was thorough in explaining my dogs needed procedure and went above and beyond to find a dental specialist that could help him, and went ahead and contacted Dixboro dental for me when they couldn’t complete his extraction!

My kitty had a congenital hip condition so he broke his hips jumping from a high platform. They identified the issue for us and our boys surgeries went very very well.
