In June of 2019 University Moving sent a one man crew to move a 4000 sq foot house. University moving provided me a quote knowing full well the size of the house and items, furniture and clothes inside. The move was in two parts. The first part went well and I awaited the second move date. I was shocked when a one man crew appeared with a small truck. I notified University Moving who insistent it was somehow my fault based on a previous 5 min conversation. As I stated then and now i am not the expert in moving and that is why I paid $10,000+ to University Moving. I was forced to make arrangements last minute as per the sales contract I had to be out of the house by a certain date. I also - even though i had back surgery - had to move items as well.>> Since then i have repeatedly reached out to University Moving only to be told that the request was being reviewed by Quality. and then for the last 3 years simply ignored>>I would not recommended this company and have advised my realtor -who is well know in the area to not use this company ever

First and foremost most, I would like to thank Ms. Deb and the entire staff for their professionalism, and prompt attention to any and everything during my daughter’s transition to the University of Michigan. As a mother sending off her daughter to college has been extremely stressful, this moving company has been such a life saver and allowed me and my family to be a peace not only with moving her furniture in her home BUT loving the people in Flint, Michigan!!! Tristin and Daniel were AMAZING!!! They were extremely professional, prompt, and such loving brothers. I thank God for placing these two young men in our paths as my daughter starts her journey in college. May God continue to bless this community, your moving company, and last but not least Daniel and Tristin?Thank you so much!!! Continue to do great things!

We recently moved about 35 miles from home to home. We got three quotes from moving companies and chose University.Because of our house’s location, we needed smaller trucks and we did a two day move where the crew loaded, drove to the new house, unloaded and then did the same on day two.We had many, many boxes and furniture and “ odd” items. Our crew of men( Tristin, Tim, Daniel, Austin and James) was exceptional. They were excellent at the “ moving” part but also very personable and very hard working. When you are paying an hourly rate, you might expect the crew to move a little slower. Definitely not the case with this team. They were fantastic. They dismantled and reassembled our beds and we were able to sleep in our new home without worry. We had no damage to walls, floors or any items! And both houses were multi level. Our cost was actually lower than the estimate. This was a great experience. We would highly recommend University moving and if you can request a crew, this was a great one.

Tristin, Daniel, Austin, and Tyler were excellent. Took great care of our items as we made our first big move as a family. They made sure to handle with care our furniture and kept our freshly painted walls at our new home clean. Highly recommend.

If you're consulting the BBB to help you find a reliable moving service, please allow me to wreck your hope with our personal nightmare of an experience with this company. First, the company has learned the loophole where they only have to "respond," which in their case involves lying, and the BBB will give them points for this action, even while noting the customer remains unhappy. This is how a company with their terrible record and all of their complaints still has a B. Hooray! Nothing works anymore. So, yeah, we had a pretty awful experience with them failing to deliver our property within the estimated acceptable range (by several days), but they offered a per diem or reimbursement for things we'd need to buy in order to make it without our stuff (within reason). Ok, cool, we can understand things happen, but... then we never received the promised check, even after they promised the payment had been approved and was in the mail. And really, the 5 days per diem was fairly worthless as, at that point, we'd gotten our things and found several that had been dismantled and rebuilt improperly or missing pieces, etc. I made a complaint with the BBB and UMS ignored them until the BBB gave up and closed the file.I thought I'd finally blocked out the memory of this entire nightmare (I've left so much out so you have a chance to read it all today), but then got the notice from the BBB that the company had finally responded (after 3 years!), which said they'd delivered within the established range, apologized for difficulties, and given us remedies... but none of that was true. And the BBB responded to me saying these were lies by saying "so sorry, but we're going to close the file (again) and say the company responded to you and you still weren't happy." But the BBB grading system gives them points for this!! So, yeah, it's all a farce. Just burn your stuff and buy new things when you get to your new city.

We are relocating from Detroit to Boston and the relocation company chose University Moving and Storage for our move. They made an excellent decision! We moved a three bedroom condo and the team showed up on Thursday to pack everything up and returned Friday to finish packing and loaded the truck. The team was fantastic in meticulously packing all of our belongings. Boxes were sealed and labeled nicely and they verified everything that needed to go to storage vs. us shipping to our temporary place. Detailed receipts with box numbers and contents were reviewed once all were loaded. They were very polite and allowed us to take care of our work while they were busy. Shout out to Tristan, Daniel, Austin, Eddie and Matt for their hard work! We really appreciated them getting us packed and moved!

Having my daughter moving her belongings from her dorm and into storage was made very simple with the company. Tim & James were both very professional and quick. No problems with them packing her things up and moving them to storage. Would definitely use them again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! I was assigned third party mover, University Moving and Storage by North American Van Lines on 12/8/22. I met with Blake Bruns who assured me that my move would be treated as if I were family. I requested packing services for garage items only. On 12/27/22, 7 movers from University arrived with no truck and no packing supplies. They proceeded to repack items inside that I had ready to be loaded and then told me that they needed to pack items inside my master bedroom drawers. They left after 4 hours and came back 12/28/22 with a truck and loaded all contents from my home. On 12/28/22, I told driver Nick that my house in Wilmington was ready for the items at that time but he said that he had already scheduled another job so 1/9/23 became the agreed upon move in date. On 1/6/23, Jacob Black of University contacted me that Nick was not able to deliver until 1/10/23. I complied with the delay because I needed my furniture after waiting that long. On 1/10/23 Nick arrived with 4 movers from Wilmington. Immediately the movers from Wilmington began telling me that they could return the next day to finish the job. The move became chaotic as boxes kept coming in before furniture. The driver Nick was not present in the house until 6PM at which time he said that everything needed to be off the truck because he was leaving. He told me that he was going to leave items on the driveway. Key pieces of furniture were slammed into the garage. I refused to sign the inventory sheets that Nick shoved at me because the move was not complete. He stormed out taking the inventory lists with him. He left with no beds or tables assembled and the house in complete disarray. I couldn't find lamps or bulbs. I tried to get in touch with my move coordinator Jacob Black but he did not pick up and did not return my message. Two of the Wilmington movers came back 1/11/23 and told me that they expected to be paid by me to finish the job. I had them call Nick who screamed at them that the moving coordinator Jacob Black had already called me three times that morning. Blatant lie because the Wilmington movers were sitting with me near my phone. I called Nick then who said "Not my problem" and he hung up. I called my moving coordinator Jacob Black again who had me speak to the operations manager Robert Shofstall. I FaceTimed him the condition of my home. He did arrange for 3 movers to assemble items but not until 1/14/23. I had to continue staying at a hotel due to the condition that the home was left in. On 1/15/23 I was able to finally locate and open a University packed box from my master bedroom drawers. It contained my jewelry box with several high value items gone. I contacted the company immediately and Robert Shofstall told me that he would meet with Nick and find out what had gone wrong with the move. He asked me which movers I suspected were involved with the theft and he gave me his own opinion. I did not hear anything for a week and contacted him again. He deflected during this conversation and told me that Nick had said that I had asked for the delayed delivery and he himself was not responsible for the theft because he was operations only. He told me to file a claim with North American as they were responsible for claims. That was the last communication from him. He quit responding to emails or calls. North American denied my claim and told me that I needed to file a police report (which I had done the first day). Victoria Gaskill of North American told me that I would have to address the stolen items with University. North American Melissa Frey also denied my Late Delivery claim saying that I had requested the late delivery, which I did not. This is the worst move that I have ever had and the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They hire LIARS AND THIEVES. They definitely do not treat you like family and I would never trust them with a safe move period.

I never thought I was going to move again and was very anxious about this move. University moving and storage- Farmington hills worked really hard to take that worry away. Long and short of it is that they were incredible to work with! The communication was second to none. I was never left high and dry or never was without a return phone call. In this day and age, that's huge in itself. From the first in-home visit for the quote to the completion of the move, I never had one complaint. I was told from the beginning about third party expenses. There were no surprises at the end of the move. The team that I worked with were wonderful, courteous, professional and treated my belongings and furniture with respect and care. I highly recommend University Moving and Storage- Farmington Hills. If I ever had to move again, which I surely hope I don't, I would definitely use them!
