The worst place to conduct business with. I took my snowblower to this company in December, the week that was forecasted of a major snow storm, I was trying to encourage doing business locally since my snowblower repair company is located in Westland. But, to my surprise, I shouldn't have brought my snowblower to this merchant because Tom was skeptical when he called me regarding what needed to be done in order to get my snowblower running again.Upon taking my snowblower to this merchant, I told him the oil mixture and gas was left over from the previous winter. I have done this several times in the past where my normal repair guy would clean out the carburetor, then I'll be on my way, but not this company. Instead, they wanted to replace my caburator, charge me $280 for parts and labor, while using my $40.00.SKEPTISM at its best. I immediately picked up my snowblower, waited a week later because that forecasted snow storm didn't occur, then I took my snowblower to my normal repair place.They clean out my carburator, gave new spark plugs for a tune up, only charging $79, a distant cry from $280. I was so elated that I went ahead and got the recommended work done, which was a new plastic blade so the snowblower would catch the snow better as well a new gasket to throw the snow. My out the door price was still only $202. Whereas, United Mowers Inc wanted to charge me $280 for nothing. Currently, I'm in a dispute with them with my credit card company for the $40 deposit. They wouldn't get the one star, but I had to make selection and this was the lowest one!!!!!!

Absolutely terrible service. Not the same united mower as it used to be when down the street and its own business. Now that it is inside of arts rental service and owned by them they no longer have the same service techs and the ones they have now do not know what they are doing. I took my stihl ts420 concrete saw in to have a primer bulb replace due to a pinhole in it causing my machine not to start, keep in mind saw started and ran perfectly fine 1 week prior to the primer bulb getting a pin hole. Took it in they told me absolutley thats why it wont start easy fix give us a couple of days. Approximately a week goes by and i havent heard from them so i call.They tell me they replaced primer bulb still would not start and that i need a new coil and air filter just waiying on parts should be a day or 2. Couple of days go by with no call from them I call and get sent to toms voicemail. So i drive up there and get told parts just came in saw is on bench now should be ready today. Never receive a call call the next day and get told saw still wont start I need a new carb. So I explain to tom this is getting ridiculous it came in for a primer bulb. He states his lead tech had to leave early for the day he will have to get back tomorrow. I wait until about 1pm the next day still no call so i call. Tom tells me they tried cleaning my carb out and seeing if that would work. His tech tried starting for about 20 mins and he heard it almost start but then a few pulls laters stated he heard something break in the motor and now i need an entire new motor and this not there fault. Strongly do not reccomend doing business here. Company has responded to my review stating no way to make me happy. It is easy to make me happy all it would have taken is proper communication, and not to have broken the motor in a saw that ran and started perfectly fine a week prior. I stand by my statements and firmly believe they broke my saw. Very un professional and disappointed that they are diagracing the name of united mower which used to be a very respectable business in the area. Every good review on here comes from prior to the new ownership at arts rental services

Dropped my mower off on Monday. Tom told me I would hear back during the week. Called up on Saturday morning after 8 and Art took my number and told me I would be updated shortly. I called back after 3 asking for an update and was told that they couldn't provide an update and I was not allowed to pick up my mower and was hing up on. After calling back 3 times without answer, Art finally answered and lied to me about never having spoken to me in the morning. Still unable to provide any updates.

The good: They were able to fix my old gas push mower (which wouldn't start reliably) when a (formerly) Sears shop was unable to.The bad: A little slow to communicate and I could almost buy a new mower for the $150 final bill.

I took my chainsaw there for a sharpening. I went to use it and I could not even tell it had been sharpened! I should've just bought a new chain for what they charged....never again!

Walked in to buy my dad a new Bar and chain for fathers day and walked out with a whole new saw, blower, and weed whip. Put them in my car and walked back in and bought an edger. People were completely friendly and had a dog, so thats automatically 5 stars. Gave me a good deal the more i bought and kept throwing in oil. This was 2 years ago, going back today to buy more toys for family.

horrible customer service... Staff cared more about the customers on the phone versus the ones in the store which is probably why they're currently out of business.
