My cat lost insurance coverage because our vet didn't keep visit notes on file.I brought my cats Grapefruit and Tarragon to Angel Animal Hospital several times over 2020-2021 for vaccinations, to treat fleas, and then for seizures Grapefruit had that I later learned were probably caused by the flea medication (Bravecto). I was always happy with the speed with which we were seen, by the kindness of the staff, by the smoothness of the experience given that we went during COVID and social distancing, and by the reasonable cost of our visits.Unfortunately now, years later, I've run a serious problem that has left me disappointed and angry. We moved away from the Farmington Hills area after 2021, and during our first checkup with our new vet, a blood panel led to us discovering that Grapefruit had kidney problems and elevated blood calcium. That led to specialist visits for ultrasounds to rule out cancer and determine the best course of treatment. I was relatively unconcerned about costs at the time. Because of my experience with my older cat Tarragon's health problems, I had made sure to buy veterinary insurance Grapefruit immediately after I adopted him.I've been seeking reimbursement for Grapefruit's care for almost three months now, and it appears I won't succeed. To collect documentation for my insurance claims, I called Angel Animal Hospital several times. Over the course of those calls, I learned that there were no visit notes in the system for Grapefruit. I was told that the notes must've been on paper, that they'd look for the notes, that the doctor must have kept the notes at home and that they'd look for them there, etc. I called customer service at the insurance company, and they called Angel Animal Hospital and were told the same thing. Ultimately, if they looked, no notes for Grapefruit were found.Because of this lack of documentation, the insurance company determined that the first vet visit that we actually had notes for (the first check-up with Grapefruit's new vet) would have to serve as the starting point for his medical history. This would mean that Grapefruit's kidney and blood calcium issues would be treated as pre-existing conditions, that we'd be unable to be reimbursed for the $2,000+ in care he's received over the last few months, and that the monthly premiums I'd been paying for for 4 years were in effect for nothing. This experience has left me tremendously disappointed: that I'm stuck with the full cost of Grapefruit's bills, that I won't be able to rely on our insurance in the future, at the wasted time and money, and that a clinic we'd been happy going to past had slipped up in a way I never could've anticipated.During one of our phone calls, I was told by a staff member that Angel Animal Hospital has switched to a new electronic system for medical records, so presumably, this won't be anyone else's experience going forward. I really, really hope that's the case.

I wish I could give a better review, but unfortunately we saw Dr. Albers and had a HORRIBLE experience. This was our first time to a new vet since moving an hour from our old one. The office staff in general are extremely nice and if Dr. Albers was not at this place, I’d probably have had a different experience and review. 2 stars only for them. I have two dogs, one of which has had knee problems since she was a puppy and is now 10 years old, her old vet limited us from her jumping and it helped it IMMENSELY. Dr. Albers told me that was the wrong thing to do and she should have had surgery the first time it happened but now the arthritis damage is done. Then proceeds to feel her knee and say “it’s tight, doesn’t seem to be an issue.” (Almost as if my old vet knew what they were talking about and wanted to prevent surgery if possible.) that was the first red flag as I thought in my mind, shouldn’t you want to prevent surgery to pets if possible as well? Then I was told she has a chipped tooth that needs extracted immediately. After the way the rest of the visit went, I decided to hold off on scheduling this 1500$ surgery and going to get a second opinion. My other dog was also with me, who does get some anxiety going to the vet, but never has an issue with getting through it, plus it was our first time there ever. She asked if I wanted anxiety meds for him, which I declined and she said “well he will need them eventually.” Then when asked what heartworm preventative I give them, I told her which and she said “that isn’t good for round worm, which theyve had in the past. Unless you move and get negative tests after moving, that medication won’t help.” And I said we did move, and have had negative tests since moving. She said “well you brought them with you so it won’t work.” What??? She was a giant money grab and didn’t listen to my wants or understanding of what my old vet told me at all. We continued to drive an hour to their old vet after moving because I hadn’t found one out here yet and was afraid of this exact thing happening. I’ll be returning to their old vet for a 2nd opinion on her tooth and for future visits. If you go to this place, ask to not see Dr. Albers.Adited to respond to the hospital’s comment below: the cost isn’t the issue, the issue is the push to make more money from Dr. albers in lieu of actually caring about the pets. She does not care about the well being of the pets, only pushing things that can be potentially avoided to make money. Such as stating she doesn’t try to prevent knee surgery and immediately schedules it as a puppy. My old vet was able to prevent surgery because they care about the actual pet instead of money. I am getting a second opinion on my dogs tooth extraction at my old vet because I trust them. I will never, and highly recommend no one, trust Dr. albers. The fact she has a ton of negative reviews saying the same thing and she’s still at this place shows a lot about the hospital itself.

My dog Priscilla is always anxious and its hard to calm her. She wouldn’t let anyone do anything for her. I was so grateful that they didn’t give up on us and was able to clip her nails and give her shots that were needed.

Dr. Singh has cared for literally hundreds of animals for our cat rescue over the past 9 years, and helped us save so many lives when we rescued sick or injured kitties. We know we can always count on Dr. Singh to take great care of our cats, and the receptionists and Vet Tech’s are knowledgeable and caring as well. Such a great group of people.

First of all, Dr. Singh is an amazing veterinarian and the vet techs are all obviously following in his footsteps. They are caring and compassionate, and always gave good direction across multiple pets in my family that all went or currently still go to Angel. If you book an appointment - ask for Dr. Singh. If it wasn’t for other vets, I would still be taking my business here. My parents still do as Dr. Singh has treated their dogs for over 10 years (10 years of amazing experiences with Dr. Singh!)Now for the problem:Leah Albers is incredibly rude and unprofessional - see other reviews that echo this comment. My experience more than a year ago with her caused me to ask for Dr. Singh ONLY. This type of experience never happened with Dr. Singh - which is why I switched back to his guidance only. Eventually I completely left with my newer puppy as I couldn’t even think about seeing Albers again. Now I am hearing that she still has the same problem, this time with my parent’s pets. Still lacking professionalism, the honesty, and care that the rest of the staff has. I am surprised she is still maintaining this horrible attitude with all of the poor reviews about her.

Dr. Albers is extremely rude and unprofessional. I was bringing my dog here for over a year for only very routine things, so a couple visits until a more serious medical issue came up and we came here more often. Front desk staff and techs are always friendly but Dr. Albers is not. Long story short, I decided to change vets.

Dr. Gill is very friendly and gives ample amounts of time to his patients. Listen to every detail. We have a 12 year old Labrador retriever. He helped us in taking good care of him. Loved the experience.

I love Dr.Singh. I will only make appointments with Dr.Singh. the only thing I don't like is when I call with follow up questions and the other two doctors, don't seem like they've bothered to even look at my pets chart before answering my question, so I feel like they're just rushing through the call and I can't fully trust their word. So, I just wait to hear from Dr Singh. Update: I got a second cat and had to go in while Dr Singh was out of town. Dr. Gill was very knowledgeable and listened to my concerns with my kitten. There's a third doctor in the office that I just won't make appointments with.

Excellent animal hospital. Dr Singh is the best, very caring about animals, and the staff is wonderful. They took great care of our baby(mila).its difficult to find a compassionate veterinarian and staff anymore, but i finally found a place that cares. I highly recommend this clinic. Thank you Abby Thompson for telling us what a great place Angel is.

Dr. Singh is very knowledgeable in veterinary care and also super caring of the animals he sees. He genuinely has a personal interest in the health and happiness of your pets. Very grateful to have found him. His staff has increased for the amount of patients so administration is efficient.

Heartless when it comes to putting your animal to sleep! My cat could walk when they took him back to get the catheter put in his arm came back couldn't move his legs she plopped him on the table he was doing this weird gasping for air thing. They also told me 107 on the phone then charged me almost 140 for a exam I didn't ask for and the lady just came in said he's dehydrated which I already told them and that he was purring too long she couldn't hear nothing. Very eery vi especially in there the nicest person there was the receptionist. I definitely made the wrong choice.

Do not go here! They only want your money!!!I would give this place zero stars if it were an option. My husband and I took out new kitty here to get her vaccinations. When we rescued the kitty listed on her previous medical records was a sinus infection that she had been treated for, and had gone away. The vet here at Angel hospital proceeded to give her the vaccinations, which we were told there would be 3 rounds of 3 weeks apart. After the first and round of shots she still had a sinus infection which I expressed to the vet. She said that there was nothing she could do about it shook her head and didn’t really ask anything else about it. She proceeded to explain how the vaccines can lower her immune system and that’s she would get better after all of her shots. And if not then they would give her an antibiotic. Today we went in for her last round of shots and I again expressed that the kitty had still been sick and sneezing, and the vet told us that she needed to stop the vaccinations for today and give her the antibiotics. Then proceeded to tell us that we would have to start the vaccination process all over again. We expressed that she never raised any concerns about stopping the vaccinations until she was on her last round… she said that we didn’t remember what was said and that she went against her better judgment in giving her the vaccines before. I said that she never once said that she was going against better judgment in vaccinating her once until now. We were incredibly disgusted with the complete lack of care for our 4 month old kitty. The vet should have never given her the vaccinations if it went against her better judgement and didn’t once express that to my husband and I. Thankfully we called a different vet that can see her instead. This other vet was able to inform us that she should have never needed another whole round of shots like the vet at angel hospital told us. This is an act of malpractice at angel hospital. This vet should be fired, do not take your animals her. They only care about getting your money. There is clearly no legitimate care for the animals health here and that was made very clear to us after speaking to another veterinary clinic. I am absolutely disgusted by this place!
