Very friendly staff. They replaced my alternator and had me back on the road same day for a reasonable price. They gave a complete diagnosis of everything else that was wrong and even offered to come pick me up so I could get my vehicle. Great business, I’ll definitely be returning to fix the other issues.

CONSUMER BEWARE: Price Gouging and Faulty Repairs.
My vehicle was towed here this past week (7/8/24) to replace the alternator. After they inspected the vehicle, they called and said parts and labor (3 hrs) would cost $1,500. The alternator retails for $550, which they marked up to $650. That leaves $850 for three hours of labor, or $283/hr, which was outrageous. I stated this and they claimed it was a “computer problem” and magically lowered the price to $1,150, which still is $200/hr. Given I didn’t want to pay to tow it elsewhere, I bit the bullet against my better judgment and accepted the repairs.
I pick my car up a day later and the A/C is not working. I have never had issues with my A/C, and it was working when I dropped my car off and even their own employee stated it was working when they returned the car to me. I call and explain the situation and the shop said they would look at the vehicle and if they did anything wrong, they’d replace or repair it. I get a call back and they said the A/C compressor needs to be replaced. After an exchange of some eloquently put words, and them claiming they didn’t touch that part, they stated they could replace it for the low price of $1,800. Again, asinine pricing, which they subsequently called me back in 30 seconds saying they could do it for $1,200. Absolutely not, it became readily apparent this shop is a ton of crooks.
I pick up my car and immediately drive it to my local trusted mechanics. They lift the car up on the hoist with me there and begin inspecting the A/C compressor. I’m attaching two photos that clearly show new etchings on the A/C compressor’s bolts and the electrical line to it unplugged. When this part was plugged in, a loud howling noise came from the car when the air was turned on, something I wouldn’t miss when driving it away the first time. They offered to replace the part for $600 refurbished or $800 brand new. $1,000 cheaper than Auto Clinic’s original pricing.
I’ll let you all draw your conclusions whether Eastpointe Auto Clinic was incompetent by not plugging the part back in (twice - upon original drop off and after their “inspection” of the A/C), shady because they knew it would make that sound, damaged the part upon their clear removal of it after they originally stated they didn’t touch the part, or all of the above.
Don’t bring your vehicles here. There still are good mechanics out there, but this garage isn’t one of them.
I would give 0 stars if I could. The 1 star can go to Horace at the front desk, as he was the only pleasant employee.

I would definitely recommend auto clinic 10 out of 10. I got my brakes and rotors serviced they got me in and out and my truck is good. I drove from the city to North Carolina and I haven't had any issues!!!

Been taking my vehicle to a shop for almost 2yrs for an EGR valve replacement and the check engine light never went out. Took it to the Auto Clinic in Eastpointe and was repaired in a few hours. I paid the other shop over a thousand dollars. I would recommend Auto Clinic and Gus if you need a good reliable mechanic.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
My car started overheating and I noticed it pouring out coolant. Went up to Auto Clinic in Eastpointe and talked to Gus, showed him the video in my phone and he knew exactly the issue. I DoorDash to make a living right now since I just had a newborn, so it was important I get good work at an affordable price and quick! He said he could fix it same or next day depending on part availability. I brought my car up, and by the next day it was ready. When I say the hospitality in there was by far the best I’ve ever had at an auto shop, I’m not being dramatic. They were ALL very hospitable and the work looks good, and my car is running great. Thank you so much Gus and the gang!
