Our family exclusively worked with Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes in Lansing/East Lansing for the two funerals (2019 and 2024) of very close, special family members and it's all because of one person - MARCIA ANSELMO. She is truly THE BEST. I believe her official title at Gorsline is Licensed Family Service Advisor but to our family, she is a God-send, an angel, an answered prayer, a trusted, empathetic, caring, compassionate, committed, dedicated, safe advocate who helped guide us every step of the way from start to finish through two very difficult times in our lives. Marcia and HANK BORDEN (Gorsline Senior Funeral Director) worked with us to plan two very beautiful, personalized memorial services that celebrated the lives of our beloved family members. We are truly grateful to both of them and the Gorsline team and would highly recommend Marcia and Hank at Gorsline because of the wonderful experience we had.

My mother died in Lansing and Gorsline made the arrangements so uncomplicated for our family as we had to have her transported to the Upper Peninsula where she will be laid to rest. She arrived safely and looked like her beautiful self before herillness and I give their cosmetician my highest règards.

When my brother in law passed, they were so accommodating and thoughtful beyond belief. The management made sure that everything was going smoothly for us as his body was to be shipped from Japan (Air Force).The stress of dealing with a sudden passing was handed off to their wonderful staff and did not pressure us to buy or do anything we didn't want. In fact, the director went above and beyond for us and I just cannot express how grateful I am for their service.I've had a few funerals in my life now and I can say that this funeral company is caring, trustworthy, and absolutely amazing to all the others I've deal with in the past!

We did pre-planning with Marca and had a terrific experience. Our options were clearly explained, along with costs, without any pressure to select a particular package. I would recommend working with Marcia to anyone without hesitation.

Gorsline Runciman East Chapel did a wonderful job of helping me through a very difficult time. From picking up my husband's body to the planning for the service, cremation and gathering after the service, everything was handled professionally and very thoughtfully.Many attendees at the service commented on how beautifully everything was set up, including the arrangement of the entire room and the room downstairs where the catering and the social gathering took place.Gorsline Runciman also has wonderful aftercare services for grieving widows/widowers and family/friends, as well as very helpful written materials. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I was concerned when I first went to Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home. I didn’t know what to expect. But I immediately felt completely at ease. They were some of the kindest and most helpful people I’ve ever dealt with. They had answers for all my questions, and even for the questions I didn’t know to ask.

fortunately, I don’t have experience with a previous death in the family and exposure to funeral home services. However, the best I can say was that this was a very average experience. We were passed from one employee to the next. communication was poor, and there were some miss steps with sharing information with us. Based on pricing, it’s hard to make a comparison again because I don’t have previous experience. But let it be known that it was much more expensive than I had originally envisioned. On the bright side, things were taken care of in a timely fashion as promised. It was more of the personal touches that were missing.
