Christy does the color for my hair and has been for several years. She is so talented. I look 10+ years younger when I leave there. All the stylists are top notch. Also the atmosphere of the shop is always warm and welcoming.

I went in to Essence yesterday to have my hair dyed and cut. I had a very faded, old color that had grown out from several months ago. I asked to have the transition blended in, such as highlights and lowlights through my hair to get rid of the “flat” look of the faded dye, while allowing my new hair to grow back out. She then bleach random parts of my roots and hair, and called it good. She could tell I wasn’t happy with the results, so when I said “I thought you’d actually blend it out or add something other than bleach” she said she could do so for a high charge. By this point, I’d already spent $115 and would rather go somewhere that wouldn’t make my hair worse. I was hoping for a blend of color, but instead got random SPOTS of color. Julie Laugherty was nice, but her work on my curly hair was not. Would not recommend

My girlfriend payed $115 to have her hair blended and they ruined it a very unprofessional stylist named julie didn't take her time and blotched bleach in a random order and didn't add any toner to blend it so essentially she paid to have someone lighten her roots which was the opposite of what was asked

Brought my 3 year old son in today, his stylist was amazing! She made him feel so comfortable and got a great cut despite all the wiggling ?! Very happy and will be back for myself and my sons for future cuts ✂️ ?
