My experience with Kolenda Kennels, where I found my beloved German Shepherd puppy Theo, was nothing short of exceptional. Susan and John's professionalism and extensive knowledge about their dogs instilled in me a sense of confidence from the very beginning. Their dedication and flexibility in helping me choose the right litter made the entire process a breeze. There was constant communication about the litter, and Susan was more than willing to answer all my questions every time I called (which was quite a few).
I flew to their facility from California to pick up Theo. Once I arrived, it was quickly apparent that the facility itself was clean, well-maintained, and focused on the well-being of the dogs. They prioritize the health, temperament, and socialization of every puppy. Susan was kind enough to let me meet Theo’s mom and dad, which made me more confident in my decision to get him from Kolenda Kennels. The puppies are raised in a loving environment, which shows how well-adjusted, friendly, and assured Theo has been since day one.
I was nervous about flying across the country with a new puppy, but with Susan’s suggestions, Theo was an absolute angel. I put him in a carrier under the seat in front of me, and he barely made a sound over the two flights home. He slept for most of the flights, and when awake, he just wanted a quick pat on the head and to be reassured before he fell right back asleep. I couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience flying him home.
Theo is beautiful, intelligent, and well-behaved, a testament to the quality breeding at Kolenda Kennels. I highly recommend this kennel to anyone looking for a top-tier German Shepherd puppy. Thank you, Susan, for giving me the best companion I could ask for!

My husband and I drove to Michigan this past weekend to have 4th male pick of Finn and Ferry. We were excited and actually well prepared to take home “ Chief”. Weeks prior to pick up Kolenda kennels had provided lots of info to make it easier on the puppy and on us. There was one female pup left from the litter so guess what ?We left with brother and sister ( Bella )What a Blessing ❤️

After stalking their website for several years, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a German Shepherd from Kolenda. All of the staff at the kennels are phenomenal, they are truly world-class, breeders, and care very deeply for their animals. I cannot say enough positive things about their dogs, their staff, and their facility. The price may be a little high compared to a lot of other breeders, but you absolutely get what you pay for! I have absolutely zero complaint with my puppy or the process of obtaining her. I cannot thank you enough and I can’t wait till she grows up to be the stunning dog that I know she will.

Kolenda Kennels has some of the finest German shepherds available. Our decision to select our new pup with them was the best. Everyone who sees our “Glockenspiel” aka Glock admires his attitude and his handsome looks. They have good breeding and were very helpful during the entire process.

I met Susan and John at 30 minutes AFTER midnight!!! They were kind enough to accommodate me and my very tight schedule.
John showed me around and introduced me to Machu parents.
From the day the litter was born, Susan sent me pictures of all the puppies and their development!!

Shelly and I brought home Lexi and Juno to our home in Chelsea, Mi about one month ago now. These amazing German Shepherd girls are our 4th and 5th Kolenda Kennel dogs. Each of our GSD’s have been unique, smart, friendly and a huge part of our family. John and Susan breed amazing dogs. If you are looking for an incredible addition to a family, we highly recommend Kolenda Kennels……..they do it right.

We recently brought home a Westline German Shepherd puppy from Kolenda Kennels, and our experience has been nothing short of fantastic! Susan and John were incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. Susan, in particular, provided invaluable advice on how to pick the right puppy from the litter and offered excellent education on puppy care.
Our puppy is not only cute and smart but also quite playful and mischievous—exactly what we hoped for! We couldn't be happier with our new furry family member and the exceptional service we received. If you're in the market for a Westline GSD, we highly recommend Kolenda Kennels. Great experience all around!

Just picked up 2 girls this weekend from John and Susan and the entire experience was incredible. Outstanding dogs and top notch breeders. I drove from Pittsburgh, Pa and would highly recommend anyone do the same if they are looking for a GSD!

10stars if possible! We have been following their website for the past 4 years after seeing FB post of a pup just purchased from this breeder. The owner of that pup & I became FB friends and we followed her pup’s growth to the impressive adult he is. When we made our decision to add a pup to our small pack, Kolenda is who we ultimately chose. The well constructed and appealing website depicted not only the beauty of their dogs and pups but their impressive lineage as well, speaking to the quality of the breed and breeding they have and maintain. After losing two GSDs to degenerative myelopathy, I was thrilled to see they state their dogs as DM Free/Clear as well as OAS clear. In my search of breeders around our own AZ state and throughout the country, I found very few who provided this information on their website. When I contacted Susan on the phone, she was exceptionally helpful, attentive, compassionate, and patient with my many questions. When we arrived there after our drive from AZ to pick up our 8 week old boy and girl, the kennels, reception, and process exceeded my already high expectations. The grounds and kennel are beautiful and obviously well maintained. We met all of their many dogs and our pups parents, each as beautiful and majestic as the other! Our pups, now 4 months old, were declared “just perfect” per our vet - healthy & beautiful, excellent structure. They are quick learners, attentive, alert, loving, great dispositions and already bonded to us and each other. I truly cannot say enough about the professionalism, caring, and wonderful experience with Susan and John. Do I recommend them? Yes! A thousand times over!!!!!

From the very start, they were great people to work with. They made sure I knew exactly who the parents of my puppy were and all of their details. I’ve had German Shepard all my life but the puppy I got from there is absolutely incredible now that he’s three years old I’ve decided I need another one, so they are helping me to get a new puppy in May. I can hardly wait, they are definitely the best people I’ve ever worked with My dog has become a service animal for me

Smooth from start to finish. I called wanting a female pup and I needed her shipped to Florida. Susan from Kolenda handled everything and this pup is nothing short of amazing. She’s smart, and has a fantastic temperament. Would absolutely buy another dog from Kolenda

The Kolenda Kennels from the first email we were sure that we wanted to purchase from this breeder. After meeting them and seeing the puppies we knew we made the right decision. Being able to see the father and mother was a plus for us. Seeing the kennels and meeting John and Susan was a pleasure, they both showed us around and explained to us the back ground of both parents, you also can see the love they have for their German Shepherds. Our boy Korth has been with us for 4 weeks and we couldn't be any happier. He is beautiful and well tempered. He has made our 8 year old German Shepherd (Dutch) feel young again. If in the future we would like another German Shepherd there is only one place we will go toThe Kolenda Kennels.
