Apparently this location preforms declawing on cats. Absolutely disgusting and non-justifiable behavior.

I have been going to this vet since 2000. I have found the vet techs to be amazing. They know me and my dogs and treat them with respect. I have a dog that is anxious and instead of bringing her to the back to do things which would make her even more anxious, they always treat the dogs in the room. I am amazed at how many vets do not do this. I never feel rushed during my visits. They have always cared for my dog on the floor instead of making them get on a table. Before seeing them, I had a vet tell me to put my 80 lbs dog on a table. My dog was so freaked out and my dog was heavy and it was very hard for me to lift him. I knew that vet was not for me so I called this vet. The owner of the clinic who is not practicing now, rolled on the floor with my dog upon the first visit and let my dog lick his face! That is someone who likes dogs. When my dog was diagnosed with cancer, they were amazing and helped connect me with MSU to try to save him. When that did not work, they were very compassionate. This was back in 2010 and I know that the clinic has some different people working but most of the vet techs from 2010 are the same vet techs today.
I moved and my dogs passed. I went 8 years without a pet. When I got a pet, I ended up for convenience sake moving to a vet that was 5 minutes from me. But I ended up coming back even though it is a 30 minute drive due to the care they take of being kind to my dog. It is a struggle to make it before the clinic closes but they always make an effort to let me be seen at the end of the day so I do not have to take time off work.
I also appreciate that they will be honest with you. While one vet may not feel as warm, I felt she always had me and my dogs best interests at heart. Not everyone has the overly warm personality (including me =) ) but that does not mean someone does not care. She was the one that told me that is was time for my dog to go and she was right. He was in a lot of pain. She was also the one that told us we were "killing our dog with kindness" by feeding him table scraps--he was overweight and it was not helping him. I appreciated her direct and needed feedback.
It is interesting to read some of the reviews because their experience does not align with my experience whatsoever. I know that everyone has their own experiences but mine have ALWAYS been positive which is why I felt compelled to write a review.

This place is awful. I called the office to get a script filled and the front office lady was terrible to me. Treating me like I was stupid for asking a very basic question of how to proceed. Then told me I couldn’t be seen even though we are a client through them. Will NEVER return to this vet. Do not recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of bringing my beloved pet to Village Animal Clinic, and I must say that their caring team and exceptional veterinary services left a lasting impression. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the staff genuinely cared about the well-being of animals. They were incredibly attentive, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately put both my pet and me at ease. The veterinary at Village Animal Clinic is highly knowledgeable and skilled, offering thorough examinations and personalized treatment plans. They take the time to explain each step of the process and answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. I was truly impressed by their dedication to providing the best possible care for my pet. I highly recommend Village Animal Clinic for their exceptional team and top-notch veterinary services.

They weren't letting people come in with their pets for almost 3 years due to covid. I had an appointment at 9am which they called to cancel due to being understaffed. They called me back later in the afternoon asking if I could come now, which I did. After dropping my dog off, I left to go put gas in my car and came right back. When I looked at my receipt, I noticed they charged my an additional $50 for "leaving the parking lot". When I called to ask about it, I was rudely informed that "I was told that I would be charged if I leave, and they don't have room to board animals".1. I would have never left if I knew I would be charged. $50 is a lot of money to me.2. I was gone for 5 minutes and I was back before they called me to discuss my dog.3. I would have not had to get gas if they didn't cancel/change my appointment.I understand why they had that policy but it was NEVER communicated. I asked for a call back from the manager which I never got, so I emailed them and never got a reply either. It was a very unprofessional interaction and I found a new Veterinarian right after. I hope the $50 was worth loosing a Customer.

My dog and cat always get the best care here from knowledgeable staff who love their "clients". Lacey loves to go to this vet; the cat... not so much.

PSA: I will never go back to this vet clinic again. It’s disgusting how people working with the sweetest animals can act so rude. I called back for a refill for my puppy Dexter and the front desk lady couldn’t even find my name on the computer, they had me under a whole different name and I’ve been there multiple times!! I asked maybe if it could be under Dexters name and she rudely followed my question with “why would it be under his name? Does your dog pay the bills no”. Then she said she couldn’t refill his meds because he’s been off of them for three days but last time he was off of them a week and they refilled them. Very disorganized company. I do remember the last time I had visited this vet they made my dog feel very uncomfortable to where he began to have anxiety. I have never once had to put a muzzle on my dog before but they went ahead and did it without asking even after I asked them kindly not to and I could just come back another day. I wish everyone could’ve heard the way the front desk lady talked to me, I was so upset I called back and asked for my records because I am done with this clinic, a different lady answered so I told her to not let her employees talk to PAYING customers like that again and replied with “you bet” with no remorse. Not even a apology. Sad that you all have your animals being treated by disgusting people. I think all the employees there should be treated for something at this point. Yes I understand I put my actual dogs name in this review but you know who you are and I hope this review will make you want to reflect on yourself to become a positive figure in your career path or maybe this isn’t the job god intended for you. Have a great day Village Animal Clinic.

Probably the most rude, obnoxious staff I have ever dealt with.I am not sure what has happened here but they used to be great but it has gone downhill since Covid.I have spent thousands at this clinic, multiple pets and recommended many family members too, not anymore, I have also been going here for next to 8 years. The front desk lady was the most rude person I have ever dealt with, she insulted me, my wife, and called me d*** because I asked questions about their policies.I now am taking my pets and encouraging all my family to leave, if you value being treated with respect DO NOT GO HERE, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Also look at the good ratings all pre-Covid (just saying)

Very unsympathetic vet that doesn’t care about pets, only about paychecks. They are very unorganized. I would recommend going to any other animal clinic, I’m trying to do what’s best for your pets, I could care less what you do with your money. 5pm is hard close time, so if you want 5 more minutes with your dying pet, too bad.
