A staff member threatened to take my cart keys and "make me walk home" because I skipped hole 10 to get around his extremely slow group of six. They were really disrespectful and looking for a fight. I stayed silent and moved on. Strange and rude staff. (yes they had six guys in one group)

It's an inexpensive, challenging course. You can break 90, but if you go offline it can Ballon your score quick. You get what you pay for, and at Prarie you are not paying resort prices. For the money, a great course to play and work on your game.
The good: course layout is wonderful! Great signature hole design. Each hole tests you, so if you are looking for a whip-simple, open, easy round this may not be the place. Greens are in really good shape and well maintained. Pace of play is awesome. Driving range, practice green are available. Good beverage selection. Carts are really nice and newer. Lots of "fun factor"
The bad: fairways and rough are at times are indistinguishable. All depends on if they ran the mowers that week (though that does seem to be improving) a little tight on some holes. Some trees are overgrown and need to be trimmed back from the fairways. A few tee boxes are in rough shape. Price has been creeping up, so it no longer qualifies as "cheap" but remains a solid value. Pro shop is old and not impressive.
The mediocre: staff is fine, but a bit gruff. Have never felt particularly welcomed by them, but I have never found them rude or off putting. Fairways are what they are. When mowed, ok. When not, quite long. Not bent grass, manicured fairways...but you are not paying those prices. Value used to be better, prices have crept up a bit.
In summary, a solid course for the money. Challenging and a lot of fun. It could be a 5 star course with that layout, but would require a huge investment and you aren't spending that amount of money here.
Definitely play it! Bring some extra golf balls...you will lose a few here.

Pros: It's very affordable and they can get you on the course with little notice. The greens appear to be cut on a regular basis.
Cons: Maintenance is severely lacking. Cuts on the fairway are infrequent blending into the rough on most holes. Extremely unprofessional staff really takes away from the benefits of this course.
I'm local to the area and have been golfing here for a long time. I had a terrible experience the last time I played here and I will not be coming back. Playing on a Sunday afternoon, tee times were stacked up. Completely expected and typical for a sunny day in the summer but with that, the pace of play was slowed. On the 17th tee, the group behind us starts getting confrontational and swearing at with my partner and I out for taking a second tee shot. A person from this group says he's a ranger and says how we're slowing play on the course and should have said something a long time ago. There were 3 groups in front of us, and every group behind the leaders were all waiting to take every shot near the end of the round. In that scenario, there is no control over how quickly you can play. As a ranger, you should know that. If you're frustrated, drive up to the group that is out front and chat with them about pace of play slowing up everyone else. Don't curse out the people who are in the same situation you are. The clubhouse staff heard us out but seemed irritated we were talking with them about it. The whole situation was unprofessional and unwarranted. I'd rather pay an extra $5 to avoid the drama.

They've really done a lot with this place. Basically cleaning up under the trees and in the ruff.

We really enjoy this golf course. The grass is a little long but expected this early in the year. A beautiful venue.

Nice course, very good pricing, challenging for skilled or unskilled, putting greens are somewhat slow, but not horrible. Pace of play at times is slow, but never too slow.

Cheap round with some decent holes... it's not prestigious or lush but gets the job done. Staff is cool, and greens weren't bad for this little track.
