only shop here if you wanna get something quick! Like literally small things. This store is ridiculously over priced. I'll continue to shop with Kroger , Meijer, or Walmart. This is a no go for me. Only good for quick runs.

My go to grocery store, located in the neighborhood, close to Wayne State University. Deli with cooked foods, salads and desserts. I've been a customer for more than 25 yrs! Watched the store owner's son grow up. Family owned and operated!

Literally the highest market in the universe, 24 pack small water 6.00 and they say it's on sale? Lol ? so I hate to see regular price. Can of regular soup 2.55 Oreo handi cookies 9.79 dollar store our family fabric softener 5.00 ? And the owner has attitude issues..

Very nice store. The prices are a bit high on somethings but the staple items are comparable to other stores in the area.

Favorite place to buy groceries from! My wife and I always come here to shop and the staff is very patient and kind. The deli has amazing food as well! Aiden and Armani made sure that all my food that I ordered was perfectly made with love

The problem with chain grocery stores is that while they’ll have national items that we all know and love, it can be hard to find higher-quality items from time to time. The problem with shopping at a organic grocers is the opposite - Traditional items are harder to find. University Foods is nice because they bridge the gap for both. The selection is a bit more limited for those on a budget, but that doesn’t mean that this place doesn’t have rock-solid deals if you know how to shop right (and I’d like to hope that an increase in patronage would lead to an increase in purchasing power for the store.) I wish the hours were a bit longer, but that’s my only complaint.

Very nice store. The prices are a bit high on somethings but the staple items are comparable to other stores in the area. You can't go wrong with the produce, the selection is well curated and itemsare fresh. The check out is fast and pleasant.

This medium sized grocery store keeps us well-stocked. They carry the Spartan store brand (now called Our Family). I find their prices reasonable and the staff courteous and knowledgeable. We eat a lot of fresh produce and there is a good variety of fresh produce. I also like the International section where they cater to the University community with Middle Eastern, Thai, Hispanic and Kosher ingredients to name a few. I recently wanted to make a Middle Eastern dinner and thought I might have to go the Eastern Market or Dearborn but was pleasantly surprised to find several types of lentils, spices, tabouli and falafel items.I don't like to go from store to store and really like that they are one of the few places that carry the daily Detroit News, Detroit Free Press and New York Times. It is my go to place for the free papers -The Downtown Monitor, Metro Times and Between the Lines.Recently I have gone to the pharmacist. He is so kind and takes his time explaining everything. So different from the corporate experience at some of the chain stores. They do a really good job of serving the needs of the University Community and the surrounding neighborhood. I get the impression that they really care. Since the owners are local the money stays in the metro area - another plus. But I shop there because the quality is good and the prices are reasonable. Why anyone would want to go to Whole Foods and be ripped off royally for the some of the same products is beyond me. They do have lots of organic at University Foods too. And you can do your banking. We are lucky to have them.I have also found baking pans, and other kitchen essentials. I've bought indoor plants that have thrived and are less costly than other places.

For the overpriced food that they have it is definitely not worth it especially the fresh fruit was terrible tasting and the employees are some of the rudest people I've ever met in my entire life and I will never be back it's literally not worth it for the prices I love supporting smaller grocery stores but I will never ever be back to this place and I would not recommend it to anybody

DO NOT EAT HERE. I got food poisoning after getting two slices of pizza late at night.
