I had a wonderful experience. The home is absolutely beautiful. The staff is very warm and welcoming. I felt safe walking alone to nearby events. I would stay here again.

It's disappointing to give a review of a place you haven't been able to stay at because of a severe lack of communication. I'm leaving this in the hopes that others will have better luck than I did.
Back in April when I booked my room online I accidentally booked a full size bed instead of a king. This was how communication went via email:
Me: Hi there! I recently booked a room that I swore was for a King size bed but when I was looking at my reservation it says it’s just a Full? If someone could let me know what my options are that would be great. Thank you (I provided my confirmation number here)
Hotel: We do not have any King rooms available on that date.
Me: Are there any rooms with two beds available? If so I'd be interested in reserving one if it's not too much trouble. I can call with card info if that is available.
Hotel: You can go to our website to book the room with 2 queen beds. Do that
soon as possible we only have one room with 2 beds. If you book the room with the 2 beds please make sure to send an e-mail to cancel the full size room.
Me: I was able to book a new room, confirmation ###### so we can cancel the full size room, confirmation #####. Please let me know if you need anything else.
This was back in May and it wasn’t until the week of my trip I realized I never got confirmation from the hotel that the room I booked by mistake WAS canceled. So I tried calling and for some reason the call wouldn’t connect fully? I tried numerous times, both their local and 800 number but nothing. I tried again the next day and even called from a different phone in case my cell was being weird but still couldn’t get through. I sent a new email asking if they had canceled the previous room because I didn’t want to get charged for booking two rooms but didn’t hear back. I ended up filling out their online inquiry form and said: I've tried calling but for some reason it will not go through and I've emailed asking about my upcoming stay. I wanted to verify that I had a previous reservation cancelled. I had an email conversation when I had realized my mistake but never got confirmation the first reservation, #######, was canceled. If someone could verify this that would be great! Thank you!
The only response I received was “We have cancelled your reservation for October 6,2024.”
Here I assumed that since I gave the confirmation number of the one I needed canceled, I was in good shape. Unfortunately, when I arrived to check in, I was informed that BOTH reservations were canceled. The lady who I spoke with was very kind and cheery (Denise? I’m so sorry I can’t remember for sure I was a tad frazzled in the moment) and did apologize for the inconvenience and I understand there really wasn’t anything she could have done but seriously? I kept thinking maybe I had been doing something wrong or not asking enough questions but when I could hardly get a hold of ANYONE to get ANY information that wasn’t my fault. I’d say at least I wasn’t charged anything except I had to pay almost double for another hotel because of their lack of communication and honestly, customer service.
Be extra careful when making a reservation is all I can say and hopefully you’ll have better luck than I did……….but it really shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth to get the bare minimum amount of help.

Rooms: Large bed, little couch, chairs and tables, tv, multiple lamps, and the bathroom was nice. Beautiful space, lots of room. Gorgeous details.
Nearby activities: Literally across the street from comerica park. 5-10 mins away from anything cool in Detroit. Has a nice large parking area too which makes it really easy.
Noteworthy details: Nice shared kitchen area with coffee, tea, utensils. Very unique and beautiful. Friendly staff.

Rooms are very spacious and the furniture is great. However, be aware that though this place offers a free breakfast buts from 9am to 10am, which is of no use.
Rooms: Rooms are very comfortable.
Food and drinks: Consider No breakfast provided as they start serving breakfast from 9am to 10am.

Although the place was very nice, we returned around midnight, with the gate entrance for cars still open, and a couple on the phone with the local police because their car had been broken into with their rear windshield completely smashed in and their belongings gone. They (newer Nissan SUV) were parked right next to us (New Lincoln SUV). We were told upon check-in that the gate to the parking lot would be closed at 11 and we were given instructions on how to open the gate with the key fab that had been provided to us. It’s supposedly private parking, yet the gate was NOT closed/locked. The couple also told us they had paid $25 to park there for the event. It’s supposed to be private parking. There is a number provided at the front desk that states they will respond in 5-10 minutes, so I contacted the number to inform them I did not feel secure enough leaving my car in the lot and that I wanted to check out immediately. It’s been nearly an hour with no response. I paid over $200 for the night with the impression of private, secure parking. DO NOT stay here. Maybe if you have a rental and get the insurance, but never with your own car. Terribly disappointed with security and service.

A beautiful old hotel with a lot of charm. Great location! You can quickly reach Downtown Detroit, Ford Field ? or Comercia Park ⚾️ on foot.
The two ladies on site were super nice.
Unfortunately, it was very cold in our room at the end of May and the air conditioning could only be controlled by the staff... but good, the hotel has had a good 150 years ?.

Wow!! What a beautiful B&B — it is quirky, fun and beautifully decorated. Bedroom was comfortable and staff were friendly. Breakfast in the morning was a typical continental breakfast but it was all we needed.
The best part is that it was 3 minutes away from the concert we were attending so we did not need to worry about getting an uber/taxi. I will be back whenever I have a concert in Detroit, I can’t recommend it enough!

We stayed at the Inn the night before the Journey concert. The Inn is absolutely beautiful. It is well maintained and the staff are incredibly helpful and kind. It is within walking distance of the arena and the stadium as well as many great places to eat. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed this hotel for a long weekend. It’s more of a BnB style, though we didn’t actually have the breakfast. It’s an old beautiful mansion inside and out with antique decor and whimsical classical and antique art from around the world. The room was very spacious. Despite it being a busy weekend in Detroit, it was pretty quiet. We got a tour from the nice person who checked us in and everyone was friendly. As guests you have access to a breakfast room for always available snacks as well as a butlers pantry and the kitchen for the fridge, plates, microwave, ice, glassware, etc. That worked for us since we didn’t need or want full service.

What a lovely hotel. We stayed there for several nights. The location is excellent (downtown and midtown are within walking distance). The ladies working there were so sweet and nice and had an answer to every question and were always available for questions. The breakfast was okay, but finally porcelain and not paper plates.
The house is over 150 years old and yes, you can see that, but the rooms are clean and very romantically furnished. You feel like you've been transported back to the 19th century.

Stayed 1 night in February 2024. Booked the Art Deco room and the only thing "Art Deco" was the stained rug. Spa-like linens are a joke...were small and rough. Got a good exfoliation when drying off from the lukewarm at best water from the shower. The room had zero heat....a small space heater was in the room but everyone knows you don't sleep with one on. The windows were screwed shut in an attempt to keep from opening. Windows were casing were stuffed with paper towels in an attempt to keep drafts at bay....it didn't work. The ceiling light shades were very dusty and had a lot of dead bugs in them. Room was advertised with a stadium view....again...false. It overlooked the parking lot and you could only see the Little Caesars Arena sign. No tissues or drinking cups available in the room. The only positives from staying there is that the staff are very friendly and our story from our stay there has entertained family and friends. A very expensive mistake we won't make again.
