I went to the I.O. Rooftop Bar and the Hamilton (both inside the Godfrey hotel) recently with some friends. The views from the rooftop bar were breathtaking and had great vibes overall. There were mostly reasonably priced appetizers on their menu upstairs but if you desire an entree, then take the elevator down to the Hamilton on the 1st floor. Reservations are recommended at both establishments.

Nice new hotel. Still finishing construction in Sept 2023 and missing a few amenities such as garbage can in the room. Very posh, modern, and trendy. Food was good. Good place for weddings and events. Rooftop restaurant looks great although I didn't have time to enjoy it.The staff were nice and I happened to be on the elevator with the head chef as he was carrying in fresh seafood. I was glad to see fresh fish as opposed to the frozen stuff most restaurants use.One drawback I can see in the future is parks; I valet parked this time but sometimes I rather self-park and you'd have to walk a block or so to find a good secure parking lot.

Went to the Godfrey as I'd heard good things about this new property. We made reservations for brunch. we ended up at the Hamilton restaurant on the main floor. Great service, decent menu. Hotel looks fabulous and it was busy. I'd consider going for a meal and/or a stay. Negatives , parking. They have valet for ($15+ for 3 hrs) and very limited street parking. But that's corktown in generalFood & drinks: Rooftop view is supposed to be very nice. Our reservation was canceled ? as their hours changed. But several friends ? it

Everyone working at the hotel was great - service was top notch. The room, however, while well appointed, was loud and hot. We could not adjust the heat at all and the noise from the hall and room next door were as if someone else was in the room with us. Admittedly, we did not call about either of the issues, and likely they would have a been addressed.

Attended an event on 12/22 at the rooftop. There were no seating options without a reservation. Food was decent, drinks were good. The space is beautiful. The valet was a hot mess. Someone’s keys were misplaced and a group of people were practically held hostage for 40 minutes unable to leave the building. Management and the police were called. The situation was not handled by security/management. Everyone was still proceeded to be charged, despite people having to go get their own cars. The only thing luxury about this place are the views and fixtures, service/management was extremely lacking and far from luxury.

I really struggled as to what rating to give because if it weren't for this time of the year, pehaps things would have been better. I'll start with the pro's.- Booked it because we had an appointment for Global Entry and drove up the night before. It is not far from where the appointment center is. Maybe 3 miles and 10 minutes or so. So perfect spot for that.- Location is in walking distance to many bars and places to eat. Love that.- The inside of the hotel is beautiful. From what I have, it seems it was recently renovated, and they did a heck of a job. Love the modern look. The rooms are nicely done with a fridge, and nepresso machine, nice size tv, and modern fixtures. - Check-in was quick and easy. So the reason I am not going to give it 5 starts.- When we checked in there was also a Christmas party happening I assume in the ballroom. Therefore to get to valet there was a very long line. When we attemped to go around the line and let the valet know that we aren't there for the party but are paying guests (the rooms were around $200 per night), they said sorry but we had to get line and they were doubtful we would be able to valet. The only other solution was to find street parking. Again because there was this party, there was no street parking close. The closest parking was almost 4 blocks away. So to have to carry your luggage to the hotel where you have paid $200 to stay at while other people who are just coming to a party and didn't pay seems a bit unfair to me. Once they realized we were a guest, I would have though we would get priority parking. - It was very loud, I asked when I checked in how late the party was going, they said till midnight, however, it went well past midnight and it was very very loud. Again when you spend $200 per night for a room, you just don't expect it to be that loud that late. - When I checked out I did voice my concerns to the front desk and the response was sorry it happens sometimes and its beyond our control. Seems they would have provided maybe a breakfast coffee coupon or something but I felt quite disregarded. Again - Nice hotel, nice location but it was a dissapointing stay. -

Me and my husband went to this hotel last night for our wedding anniversary. The rooftop was nice but the menu was limited on food. I made the dinner reservations and spoke to someone about it being our anniversary and asked if we could sit in one of the booths. They said they would be abled to arrange it. When we got there they said they couldn’t do it. Then we went to our room. We were extremely hot all night. I asked the front desk if maintenance, the manager, front desk or anyone could come fix it on four different phone calls, each time she gave a different number excuse. The manager is handling something else, now the manager is gone, maintenance left at 10pm, her foot or leg is broke so she can’t come. I can’t make this up. Then this morning at check out the young lady was nice at the front desk but said maybe they could see about money off of the next stay. And said she had to check but could not do anything right then. They moved our room at 2am when they should have arranged to move it when I called the first time. The rooms are beautiful but the staff should never tell a customer “I don’t know”. I couldn’t believe it. My anniversary night was ruined. I had a nose bleed from being so hot, my husband couldn’t sleep from being so hot and we had no sleep. Not to mention we had to both work the next day. I expected so much more. If the thermostat worked, or we were moved and the staff handled things correctly, me and my husband would have gave this hotel an excellent review.

I really loved this hotel! Nate and I booked a one-night stay there for our annual "Christmas vacation" and had a great experience. We had a busy day in Detroit, so it was a nice surprise to be able to check in early. Angela at the front desk was super friendly and helpful, and we got a text after checking in to make sure we were all set.The room was very clean and had some nice amenities like the Nespresso coffee maker, bathrobes, slippers, and mini fridge. I always love the lighting in newer hotel rooms and this was no exception - lots of options for ambient/low light and reading lights at the bed. All the outlets were working and the USB plugs are always appreciated. The bed was super comfortable and I didn't notice any noises throughout the night, except for the HVAC which seemed to be running continuously the whole time. I didn't mind the white noise but it was definitely noticeable. There's a 24 hour gym, hotel bar, restaurant, room service, and a rooftop bar. We didn't check any of those out, but we did utilize the valet which was around $24 per night. You could probably find free street parking in the area but the valet was quick and courteous.I really enjoyed the location of the hotel, as it's walking distance to several bars and restaurants, including the amazing Mink restaurant right around the corner where we had a reservation. We were also able to walk from the Lions game back to the hotel as it's about a mile and a half from Ford Field. I'd definitely stay here again in the future.

We had a one night stay after a night on the town. After check in we went to the lobby bar and were disappointed that they didn't have any draft beer and the only bottle beer was Bud Light. We went to the rooftop bar and they did have draft beer, but again it was only Bud Light. I would think a classy place like the Godfrey would have a variety of beers, including craft and import. Disappointed, we went across the street to Nemo's to quench our thirst.

As a wedding manager, I get the opportunity to work in lots of venues. This was my first experience at the new Godfrey Hotel and we pushed them to new limits with a big wedding. The sales staff, led my CC Smith & the banquet staff led by Byron were just terrific. The care & commitment to excellent customer service showed through in the many, many, many details they took care of all day long. They followed through on their promises, and made wonderful suggestions for how to make things even better. Clients often ask me for venue suggestions, and I would highly recommend the Godfrey for hosting a celebration.Nearby activities: Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.Food & drinks: The hotel staff did a fantastic job of getting food out for 260 people quickly, beautifully, and deliciously.

We went to a family member’s wedding that was in Detroit. We stay at Hilton properties frequently. This is a Curio Hilton which is usually a 4 star hotel. For some reason this one isn’t listed as such and I am not sure why because I believe it to be so. Every detail of this hotel is beautiful. It is incredibly clean, every staff member from the front desk, the concierge, housekeeping, the waiter at the restaurant and the valet were polite and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was very good. The mattress was very comfortable. The room was very quiet and we got a good night’s rest. You’re still in the city closed to everything but a little removed (which we actually really liked about it) Definitely recommend this hotel!Rooms: The tv in our room was HUGE if that appeals to you.Nearby activities: There is an ax throwing arcade place across the street that looked interesting but we didn’t get a chance to check it out.Food & drinks: Food was inspired by Irish Corktown.Noteworthy details: The decor and fixtures of this hotel was absolutely gorgeous.

My stay at the newly established Godfrey Hotel in Detroit, a recent addition to Hilton’s portfolio, was generally impressive, yet slightly overshadowed by a notable issue with their valet parking service. The hotel, just two months old, boasts a modern and sophisticated design, providing a luxurious and comfortable experience. The rooms are tastefully furnished, featuring contemporary amenities that align with the expectations of a high-end hotel. Cleanliness and attention to detail were evident throughout my stay, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. While the staff was generally accommodating and friendly, the valet parking service at checkout did not meet the same standard. Despite following the procedure of texting my information 30 minutes in advance, I encountered a 30-minute delay in retrieving my vehicle. It was apparent that the busy staff were not monitoring the text messages as expected, leading to this inconvenience.Despite this issue, the Godfrey Hotel offers an overall excellent stay, with its luxury, comfort, and prime location. However, the hotel would benefit from improving the efficiency of its valet service, especially during peak times. In conclusion, while the Godfrey Hotel presents a high-quality lodging option in Detroit, attention to the management of valet services is necessary to ensure a seamless experience for all guests.Rooms: Arms were beautiful and well designed. Well, not overly spacious It did not leave you feeling cramped.Nearby activities: Many activities nearby, including Tiger, Stadium and Ford Field.

30 minute + wait time on a Sunday morning to get your vehicle back, refusal to give me my keys to walk to my own vehicle.Either hire an adequate company to execute the task or don’t have the service, especially when you’re charging guests for it.Would not recommend, many other hotels in the area with competent execution on standard downtown amenities.

This was our first time visiting Detroit and we LOVED this hotel! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar was *chefs kiss*. The rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. The location was fantastic - we came for the Thanksgiving game and walked to the stadium. It was about a 25 minute walk and we were thrilled to avoid traffic and the general chaos following a large event. Already planning to return next year and will definitely book again!Rooms: Very comfortable and clean. Great vibe.Walkability: Walked to Ford Field and the rest of downtown Detroit. Very easy walk
