The location was right by the board walk which was a beautiful view, great water views. A little congested being in the center or a big place. The guest service lady that was originally was helping me didn’t really want to help me because she was getting off so she made the other guest service woman take care of it and she did great. My trim was on the 48th floor and your ears do pop going up and down. Rooms were spacious and clean

Convenient and walkable to convention center. Staying above 60th floor, yet I hear all street noise, from motorcycles to sirens to people shouting and having fun! Makes me nervous to go near the floor to ceiling windows. Customer service at front desk is lacking. In concierge room with no lounge access, because I'm not an elite member. There is nothing in writing about it being for elite members only, yet I have documents stating I am entitled to lounge access as I am staying in a concierge room. Not worth pushing the issue with them, but it is worth sharing. Buyer beware!.

I really enjoyed my recent stay here. The staff at the check in counter were incredibly nice and accommodating as we checked in. I somehow ended up with a dirty room and the front desk girl went out of her way to ensure that I was relocated to a nicer / cleaner room. My view from the 32nd floor was astonishing to say the least. You are close to literally everything. It took me only maybe 10 - 15 minutes to walk to Greektown for dinner. I also enjoyed the nearby river walk as well. I highly recommend staying here if you haven't checked it out yet.
Nearby activities: Not far from many local attractions.
Safety: You are safe here. I saw police doing their routine patrols around the area. Nothing to worry about at all.
Walkability: The river walk is right behind the hotel. You can see Winsor, Canada very easily.
Food & drinks: You will have a lot of food options along with bars that are easily assessable.
Noteworthy details: This is one of the tallest buildings in Detroit. Your views from the top floors are priceless.

The location was great for the activities my friends and family had planned for the weekend! However the rooms need to be updated. The tub was dirty! They ran out of towels when I requested them and I requested housekeeping and they never came and cleaned the room. The glasses and trays in the room were dirty and dusty. I never use them anyway. This will be my last stay at this facility.

I came here for a convention, so I didn't get to do a lot outside of the business I was here for. The rooms were nice, but noisy. The view from the 56th floor, incredible! The service was fantastic! The location is good for that busy, downtown lifestyle.
Rooms: The rooms are beautiful, with beautiful views!! The beds are decently comfy. But it is loud. Right in the middle of downtown Detroit, there is always something going on outside, and it's noisy. Also, the noise carries in the hotel from other rooms and people walking by outside your door. The doors also close loudly, from your room and others.
Safety: Inside the hotel was fine. If you're going out, though, use the "buddy system", even middle of the afternoon.
Walkability: Plenty to do within walking distance, or using the People Mover.
Food & drinks: Ate at the restaurant "Fuel" inside The Marriott and was not impressed. For how expensive it was, I expected way better.
I had the ravioli dish for dinner. It was cold in spots, and there was WAY more chunky sauce than raviolis.
The market in the lobby is crazy expensive, but it has what you need in a pinch.

Friend reserved room 6 months ago for 4 of us. Arrived at hotel around 5 pm. Apparently they gave our room away that had two beds…… there were 4 of us. They said they could put two rollaways in room ASAP. We left and went to a concert downtown. Came back around 1 am. Still no rollaways. Had to contact the front desk twice. We never received the rollaways till about 2:30 am! Not acceptable.

Right on the Riverwalk. Also you can catch the People Mover in same building and restaurant real close. Room was nice & clean and nice view from our room. Employees were all great.

I could not have been happier with my accommodations or the service I received at the RenCen. Dianne at the front desk was so hospitable and made sure I had everything I needed. Views of the city from the my room on the 31st floor were AMAZING! The premises also includes multiple restaurants, coffee shops, businesses, and GM WORLD :) The weight room/fitness center on the 40th floor overlooks Canada and the Detroit River. Parking at the adjacent Beaubien Garage is really not bad either. Don't fear the old reviews.
