I was extremely impressed ?..it drew you in warm clean and, of course, dog friendly.. the customer service was over the top!...however, I am disappointed with the return call. and trying to talk with a staff member regarding the puppy my niece adopted. I was told someone would call me back. Three days have not gotten a return call.. Not good!

This place does amazing work every day. They work hard to care for the animals in their facility and to find them the best forever homes. They were great to work with from start to finish.

The Michigan Humane Society Detroit location is a great location. We had a tough decision to make today for our beloved Sonic. They helped us and gave us closure as to what the cause and issues were. They walked us through every step of the way. They were patient and kind. All the ladies there, from the receptionist to the techs and the dr. They even handled a matter at the front desk ver professionally. There is no long wait. They have good practices in place to ensure everyone is safe and has their space. If we decide to have another pet, we will definitely go back there. Also, they are not money hungry like these other so-called veterinarian hospitals.

I found 2 Rabbits recently in my backyard. It was cold outside and also raining. I gave them shelter but couldn't find the owner. Then I took these 2 rabbits to Michigan Humane Society. The people there are very friendly. God bless them. They are doing a great job by taking care of the animals. As an animal lover it was an honor to visit there ☺️

Best shelter in Detroit metro area. We adopted our second cat from Michigan humane. They truly care about pets and show a lot of affection towards them. All the cats were well taken care of. Prices are very affordable, they even have name your own price sometimes. Also they have affiliated vets that you can follow up for discounted prices. Thanks again to all the employees of Michigan Humane.

They were extremely busy. But they handled my sick dog with love and care. Happy had to be euthanized. They were as gentle and swift about ending his suffering. I Thank them for their humane acts of kindness towards our beloved animals.

I adopted a Pitty named Agnes who has paralysis in her hind quarters. I positively love her and her ability to teach me to be brave and enjoy each day that I have with her. Wonderful dogs, staff, vet staff. It qas worth the five hour drive!!!!!

We usually take our furbaby to a Oakland County location but needed an emergency appointment--and luckily one opened up. This facility is amazing! The entire staff was so nice and welcoming to us and our dog's need. The facility is also easily accessible and super clean!! We will be coming back for all our pet needs and also donating to an amazing center!

Not sure why such big decisions are made based on 20 minutes of 2 dogs of different backgrounds meeting each other. Of course my dog that has never set foot in a shelter is not going to be very accepting to a dog he's never met. We wasted our whole weekend on trying to get a dog we know our dog will love but happened to be anxious around Because he's in a strange place with strange people. Love that you guys rescue dogs but hate that you turn down good homes based on TWENTY FUCKING minutes of TWO STRANGE dogs meeting each other. What a waste.

This review is based on my experience in April when I adopted my new kitten Aiden who at the time was 6 weeks old and is now almost 10 months. I had been looking at the available kittens in the humane society's website for a week or 2 before I came and I noticed that it was best to go in early in the day. Prior to coming to this location, I went to the satellite location at Petco by Lakeside mall. As I had put my previous cat to sleep in early March and she had been a girl, I was there for boy kittens. The only kittens at that location were girl however the staff working the cat area were really helpful. I was informed that there were 2 boy kittens that would be available starting in an hour at the Detroit location. The staff told me to call the number on the sign immediately when I arrived in order to get in line. I was about 15 minutes early and when I called, they answered right away and put me in line. I was the 2nd person in for adoptions but the 1st person going for cats/kittens. The staff member that helped me with the adoption was so nice and helpful. She answered all of my questions and within about 30 minutes from when I walked in, I walked out with my new kitten Aiden. I recommend the humane society for adoption of cats and kittens.
