This is a very well run place. The animals are very well taken care of and the staff is kind and courteous. I highly recommend adopting your pets from here.

The Michigan Humane Society Detroit location is a great location. We had a tough decision to make today for our beloved Sonic. They helped us and gave us closure as to what the cause and issues were. They walked us through every step of the way. They were patient and kind. All the ladies there, from the receptionist to the techs and the dr. They even handled a matter at the front desk ver professionally. There is no long wait. They have good practices in place to ensure everyone is safe and has their space. If we decide to have another pet, we will definitely go back there. Also, they are not money hungry like these other so-called veterinarian hospitals.

Returned here after a few years away and it was such a great experience. Started w two doggos and annual appointments. Unfortunately we had a sick boy and they took such amazing care of not just him but us too.

I've been taking my dog here for years. The staff is very nice. And he has always gotten good care at a very reasonable price.

Today is a somber day. I brought my sick buddy Kimba to the Vet. They were very kind in attending to him. He had been losing weight for months but maintained a healthy appetite but did consume alot of water and urinated alot. The doctor told me that based on his symptoms and weight loss (he went from weighing 14lbs in 2021 down to 4lbs in 2023.) They said that Kimba was close to renal failure and suggested Euthanasation. He was drinking small amounts of water and had problems eliminating waste and throwing up prior to his last visit. He threw up food constantly in his final days including while at the vet office. The vet was kind and told me that he may have days to a week to live based on his weight loss. He was put to sleep today to end his further suffering. I have used them before for Vet visits and will happily use them again for care and treatment of my remaining pet.

Our organization is so grateful to everyone here for working with us and the myriad of medical concerns the shelter dogs need help with.
