I use good rx for my medication and I switched over to Rite Aid on Woodward, even though this Meijer is cheaper. That’s how bad this pharmacy is. Anxiety inducing because they never have it ready in time and were always out of what I need, and I need it to not have seizures. I’m polite to customer facing employees but man was it hard to maintain here.

Incompetent pharmacy staff. Had to call multiple times just to get a script transferred and filled after their mistakes of saying their waiting for the other pharmacy to send stuff when in fact they already had it.

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. The drive-through is "always down " aka understaffed. They take days to get common drugs. I've wasted too many trips there only to be disappointed.

I used to hate coming here but with the remodel, they've improved A LOT. They added nice self checkout lanes and the staff are a lot nicer too.

If I could give no stars, I would because this was one of the most upsetting and rudest places I've ever seen!!First, my husband called about what meds there was to be filled. A female voice said he had two meds. When we got there, now she said they wasn't filled, not explaining that she could've filled them, but he didn't say. I told her, "Well, next time ask of they want them filled." She said she did, but she didn't or he would've wanted them.Secondly, now she said she can fill them for tomorrow pick up after 130pm. Also, we dropped off two new scripts, that she said all 4 would be ready. So we agreed to return the next day.The next day after 5pm, and there's nothing there to pick up!! What?!? We were so upset!! He needed his meds, like everyone else, when they're due to filled. Not only did three different people ask for his name, the female didn't come to the window, the male was rude and said to 'double up' on the old med for the new med was a different dosage!!No, that's not correct or proper to do because this new med was from a different Dr and a different dosage. How unprofessional and uneducated of him to say that, he wanted us to "overdose" actually!!Third, the first two meds were non-existent, like the female said. Since they were so rude, confused, short-tempered with us, I said just return to me the written scripts so we can go else where. They returned them, with somebody else's address written over it like a transfer ink paper. We went to Rite-Aid and had all his meds transferred!! How horrible this place has become!!Customer service has deteriorated these last years from improper training by lazy trainers, disrespectful younger adults towards older adults, and businesses that don't care anymore. I will contact the store manager how they lost another customer, if he/she even cares. Sincerely.

Since this is the closest meijers to my house I often choose to go here when I need groceries. One of the things I love about this location is the presence of DPD. The location is not in a bad area but its always nice to have Detroit's finest present. There are officers inside the store, patrolling the parking lots and even at the gas station. We have gotten to know a few officers from going here so much. Gotta love DPD! The store is pretty well organized and clean. They re-did the self check out. The way it is set up is much more efficient and keeps the line moving. It is a much better set up compared to before. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Y'ever go into an establishment that you've been to before multiple times and had bad experiences for the express intent of dragging them in a brutal one star review that you wanted to relate to a fresh experience? Ever been surprised at being denied this predetermined outcome? It just happened to me here. The self checkout registers at this Meijer used to be a sad farce. Nowhere near enough in number with a line often stretching all way down the produce aisle to damn near the back of the store. I've walked out of this Meijer before just to drive all the way to the 12 Mile and Mound store. (The lanes with actual human cashiers are woefully and/or willfully understaffed, too. I drove out to this Meijer the other night just to endure this sad situation and s*** on em online for it. To my surprise the self checkout lanes had been completely revamped with a bunch more registers added, a new layout with a switchback to keep the queue from stretching deep into the store and the produce aisle blocked off just to keep that area still shoppable. I guess if the line gets too unruly it will stretch down the beer aisle instead? I wouldn't know as it was nicely contained by the switchback and the wait didn't eat up half my evening. Maybe the situation will devolve with registers out of order or sheer overcrowding but everything worked like a well-oiled machine with the register reinforcements and improved layout Friday night. So my expectations were all wrong. This still isn't the best Meijer. It's in a big, ugly, generic strip mall occupying the former Michigan state fairgrounds that, given the history of the site, could use a lot more character and style IMO. There's only one entrance, and as others have noted security and the cops, usually multiple cars, are always camped out in the lot. It's not as sprawlingly large as most Meijers and not stocked quite as well. They also close at 11, rather than 12, an impediment to a night owl like me. The convenience of having a Meijer within Detroit city limits keeps me from slapping this location with a lackluster two stars though. It's not even the nicest Meijer in the city - that would be the Meijer on Grand River near Lahser. But that's way out on the west side and a longer drive for me than some Meijers in the burbs. Honestly I'm still tempted to drive farther to one of those Meijers rather than frequent this 8 Mile/Woodward store but that self checkout upgrade bought some goodwill from me. So this location gets three stars but a pretty tepid three stars.

This Pharmacy is awful along with their online website. I booked an appointment for the vaccine at 9:30 and arrived at 9:20 when I arrived the main pharmacist (the old one with glasses) was so rude and dismissive to start. She tells me we don't have online appointments for vaccines (when they clearly do) and the person that does the vaccines won't be here until 12:00. She didn't have one once of sympathy for the situation which was not my fault in the slightest.

I have never been to one of these grocery stores. But it is so much more than just a grocery store. It has home goods, outdoor items, plants, home Decor, liquor , you name it this store has it. Plus the store is so clean, has lots of help to assist you if needed and there are many cashiers open so you are not waiting in line with so long to pay. Love this store

Excellent place to shop in Detroit. The produce is spectacular and vast. The only problem is check out service. Long lines too few lanes open

Decent store but very large store, and at least on the day I was there, I could not find everything I wanted, like turkey sausage made by Jennie O' But I do really like at the self-serve checkout aisles, they have people there to assist, and the line moves really, really fast. The service here is pretty decent. The parking lot is very busy. Drive very cautiously

Do not go to this location! The techs are completely incompetent! They lost my prescription that I gave to them. When I dropped it off at the window the young lady said it would be ready in a hour (it was a Monday) I contacted them on a Friday and they couldn’t find my prescription! I ended up reporting them to the board of pharmacy! How unethical and dangerous to lose a prescription that a patient is waiting on!!

They randomly close the drive thru, even during a pandemic. Showing up during business hours you have maybe a 50/50 chance of the pharmacy drive thru having a "drive thru down" sign on it.
